Not visually attractive, but pretty good park. Didn't use showers, but laundry was very nice. Campground host was a great help. Good restaurants nearby, brewery and fishing pier within walking distance. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Arrived without a reservation, but was able to get a site. I paid for one night. I was ill on the planned day of departure, so I called the office and they initially told me that we would probably have to move to another site, as the space I was in was booked for that night. However, they were able to contact the person who had the booking, and that person agreed to take another site, so I didn't have to move. I feel that the folks in the office here went above and beyond what was required or even expected. I didn't even have to go to the office to pay for the additional day; they let me pay the next day before we departed.
I can't say enough good things about this park -- it had everything I needed, and the service was superior. We had beautiful views of the bay and the bridge, great dog-walking area, and the marina store was near our site. I heartily recommend this park as a stopover or destination for a longer vacation. We traveled here with an organized tour, so didn't make arrangements or pay by the night. I really enjoyed the campground. Sites were paved and flat, and roads through the park were adequate. We were parked in a "drive in - back out" site which was lovely, in a motorhome. I am betting the reviewer who rated the park a "1" had to back in to one of these sites on the perimeter with his fifth wheel, and then hook-ups would be on the wrong side. There are nice walks outside of the park for dogs, but no dig park. The Wi-Fi was inadequate. I enjoyed hearing sea lions and fog horns instead of traffic noise and railroad trains for a change! The rate was for the weekly rate. The utilities, cable, and Wi-Fi are all excellent. The restrooms, showers and laundry were all modern and clean, $1 for wash and dry. The sites are very nice and pretty good size, The all are asphalt with shrubs and small trees in between. Very good layout and a great view of the water and the beautiful bridge. Busy here during the summer so make reservations far in advance for that time. Other than that doesn't seem very busy. It's our second time here in the last 4 years. We really like the town of Newport and the surrounding area is beautiful. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Clean RV park with little separation from neighboring sites. (Mature shrubs would help.) We found ourselves in the middle of a large family reunion. Nice people, but felt if they could have been grouped together, everyone would have enjoyed their stay more. (Should have been easy to do, as all sites are identical.) Easy access to the Aquarium and the harbor, but town, restaurants and shopping are across the bridge, a few miles away. We would stay again, but will research other options as well. We were unable to get into the full hook up part of the park, but they did offer dry camping adjacent to the park which was just fine. We had a nice view overlooking the harbor, which we probably would not have had inside the park. They have a water source and a dump for dry camping use. We stayed here for 4 nights and it worked out fine. It is within walking distance of the brewery. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Nice Park. It's all about location, location, location. Expansive sand beach about 1/4 mile (almost deserted when we were there in August). Although sites are not on the water (about 150' away) the park has a beautiful view adjacent to the marina. Oregon Coast Aquarium on block away. Fishing pier and crab dock just over the adjacent bay bridge...within one or two miles. Sea lions in the water at the pier, boat tours and fishing tours available. Several nice looking restaurants along the pier. Only two minor negatives: Spacing of slots was a little tight and Wi-Fi was almost unusable due to just too many users. This is inexcusable in today's camping environment. Bottom line: I would stay in this camp again without question. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Pretty much a large parking lot with not much for any kind of amenities; but that is fine with us. Lots of fishermen and it kinda smelled fishy...hey, it is fishing season! Laundry is very, very good. Staff is very good. Would stay there again. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

The people running this park do not have their information correct. Their website reads one thing, and they say another. Depends on who you are talking to at the time of check in. The wifi.. forget it. Very poor if you can connect. This is not a pet friendly park. They are charging for pets now. Really? A pet fee? Nothing but greed. The sites are totally backwards. Who ever designed this park got it wrong. All the hook ups are on the entry side of your RV. You will not be able to reach with your power cord, or sewer. You are much better off bypassing this over priced parking lot. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Used to be one of our favorite places to stay on the Oregon Coast. This place is in desperate need of some maintenance and some people to take care of it. Outer rim sites are getting so overgrown with sawgrass it is disgusting. None of the landscaping is watered anymore and is univiting. Park hosts and employees could care less how many vehicles park in one space evidenced by many people parking Boats, extra cars, etc. on landscaping with no respect for the overall facility. Not a very nice place to stay anymore. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Check in was "all business" and not much of a welcome. We had a pull thru site with adequately located hookups. Cable and wifi were included in the rate. Our AT&T worked well here. View of the bridge was awesome and being able to walk to the harbor a treat. Aquarium was nearby. We would enjoy staying here again. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Nice park centrally located to many activities. Sites are average in size - some have more space between rigs. There are no tables at the sites. Within walking distance of Aquarium, Science Center, and marina. Fireworks were great and view of bridge is very nice. Office staff not real helpful in putting small groups together, even with a reservation one year in advance. Would definitely stay again. Large motorhomes will do OK here. We have been coming here every summer for the last 6 years. We have been staying for 2 months. The park is paved asphalt with about 91 sites. Some are long pull-throughs and the others are perimeter back-in or pull-in sites. I know some have complained about it not being maintained and grass not watered but it is maintained by a private company. They have had sprinklers in the grassy area and they have been in the process (all summer) of installing irrigation which is why the grass was brown in some areas. The park host (now 81) is a very friendly sort who used to do a lot of the maintenance himself but has backed off a bit due to his age. Most of the staff in the office are very friendly however there is one who really needs to find a job where she doesn't have to deal with people. They have A LOT of people who come down to fish and some who come from other states to get away from the heat. The majority of the people who come do so because they fish. Our neighbors have been coming since they opened and keep their rigs parked there from 4-6 months. During the summer this place almost never has an empty space so you do have to make a reservation. It is right on the marina bay side so it's sheltered a little from the coastal wind but it still does get windy. BUT it also is so pleasant you never need your air conditioner. Their laundry room is clean and the price is very reasonable. We do not use their showers but the RV park showers are reserved for the people in the RV park. They have Wi-Fi and cable, and both work fairly well. Each site has landscaping (some of which grows quickly on the perimeter sites). Part of the problem with the outside perimeter sites is that they have planted trees and shrubs for privacy since there is a walking path that is in front of the sites and the sites are pull-ins. So the trees and shrubs were intended for privacy but the landscaping company has not done a great job of trimming them back. All the other sites have shrubs and bushes between sites which are very nice but again the landscaping company needs to do a better job. I have found that if there is a problem I take it to the ladies in the office, and they will make sure it's taken care of. They have sites to accommodate the biggest rigs but since it's very busy in the summer you really need to reserve early. They also have an annex which is across the street. It has grassy sites and lower rates. The number of sites listed in this review includes the annex. The nightly rate I listed does not include the 10% Good Sam Rate. We stay monthly and the 2014 rate was $743.00. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a good location if you want to be close to everything. I did feel like I was in the middle of a parking lot, though. There is plenty of room for big rigs and the sites are very level. There are no tables at the sights. Also like most parks, the Wi-Fi was spotty at best. Upon check-in, staff was not very friendly. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

Yes, this park is all asphalt and concrete but it makes for a comfortable stay in a great location. The utilities are great and the view of the bridge and harbor are super. The adjoining bike path and south jetty park provide biking and hiking opportunities and the aquarium and marine science center are within easy walking distance. We had a fun week here.
