Great place to stay along Columbia River. Easy off I-5. Light rail into town is close, Uber service is available, airport can be noisy, cell was surprisingly poor, Wi-Fi is good near a tower. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

It's a good beer town, fun to walk, or bike in town. Rail makes it easy to visit different areas, must visit to Powell Books.

Large park with paved roads and concrete sites. Good water pressure and wifi worked well. We've stayed here before for the convenience and returned because we knew what to expect. Ninety percent of the park is occupied by residents, some of them not caring much about their site or rig upkeep. Based on the landscaping, management has lost interest too. It's located off Marine Drive (trucks) and west of PDX. There's a LOT more noise than I remember. We won't be back. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Even though the WiFi signal strength was excellent, the data traffic rate varied between miserable and zero.

I will avoid this park in the future. There's no excuse in 2016 for having nonexistent Internet service.

Roads are all paved, and all sites are cement. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like parking lots with all the noise, this is for you. Very close to the Portland airport and right on the Marine drive highway. Other than that, it's clean and well maintained. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

All in all, a nice facility, across the street from the Portland Yacht Club. Several good restaurants nearby. Paved streets, and pads. The sites are tight, but fairly easy to get into and out of. A paved bike path along the Columbia River and the airport starts about a mile away. WiFi is weak. Cable is analog. Pictures on local channels are better with an antenna. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Cost is a monthly rate. This park is within 2.5 miles of the yellow line Expo train terminal. We purchased metro coupons and NEVER took the car into Portland. The convenience and cost is priceless. $5.00 a day allows you to ride train, bus and trolly. There is actually a stop at a nearby Fred Meyer grocery on the ride home. We often stopped and bought groceries on way home in the evening. Marine drive is a shortcut to I-84 and all that the Columbia River/gorge offers. All utilities located at rear of coach and worked well. Cable free as is wifi and both worked well. Concrete pad, however slanted front to back. Tow car parked beside coach.

The sites are very close together. We could hear the television from the camper across the street. The park is 75% permanent residents, however it is clean and tidy. We were offended by the "requirement" of a $35.00 fee each for a background check. We were uncomfortable as to what this might mean. The young man in the office could use some training on his language. When in the office with additional workers, he is quiet, calm and professional. When alone, his is swearing and complaining about this job being to stressful for a person his age. We would return to this park if visiting Portland again. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

We stayed for a week and got the weekly discount and a Good Sam discount. We stayed here 2 years ago and have returned because we liked it. As others have said, it is well maintained, clean and the sites are fairly level with good hook-ups. Yes, the wi-fi is almost non-existent but the cable TV is good. And, yes, the flight path for the near-by airport is right over head.
It is really not a campground but more a place where you live for a night or a week or a month or whatever. We find the location of this park good: it is close to Vancouver, WA if you want to visit the National Historic Site, it is within driving distance to the Columbia Gorge and all its attractions, it is only 2 miles from the Yellow Line Max if you want to get into Portland. We like to hike and an find ample trails around here. We would definitely stay here again when we are in the Portland area. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, the Columbia River Gorge with its views from the Womens Federation Park, the Cliff House, all the waterfalls and the beautiful drive through the gorge (don't take the Interstate), Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum - all are excellent attractions. Take the Max Yellow lIne into town - it's lots cheaper than paying for parking.

The park is well kept. The Wi-Fi is not good at all. Bathrooms were often locked and unavailable. The worst part was that it was really far from downtown. At least a $22 Uber ride. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Stayed for a week. Sites are close but long and angled so it does not seem that you are close. Each site has a little grassy area and you can park you tow next to your door. It appears that a large number of renters are long term. However, sites are maintained. Two dog areas exist. One is across the street near the entrance of the park and the other is in the back park area. Wifi is available but lacks bandwidth and is frustrating. Close to the Columbia River, Mt. Hood and other great sites. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

This place is mostly long-term residents - we bagged one of the few empty sites while passing through. Clean, with a good laundry room. Level concrete pad. WiFi was spotty. Airport noise is our biggest gripe. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

We found the park centrally located for our needs in the Portland area. The staff was friendly and courteous. The park is clean and fairly well thought out. The larger RVs can be a tight fit in some spaces in the back section where we were. It is on the outer barrier of the Portland Airport so it removes quiet from the environment as does some truck traffic on Marine Drive that the park backs up to. We liked the park, but...

Beware - Portland has a reputation for bicycle theft and it is alive and well in this park. During our 4 month stay we had 4 new bicycles stolen from our RV space and know of others from neighboring spaces. The park has what appears to be a fairly comprehensive video security, coupled with absolutely no gate security as to who enters the park. The management at the park was notified of the thefts and inquiries were made as to anything that the cameras may have captured. More than once we shared our observations of teen males accessing the park grounds by scaling a wide concrete wall at the back of the park that adjoins a parking lot of a Minit Mart. The office staff offered their regrets and would let us know if they saw anything on the tapes, both times. Both times, the very next day we witnessed the security cameras being worked on and nothing being done to improve the wall security and got no response as to the tape review results (good, bad, or indifferent). We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Near by access to the Columbia River and river front restaurants. Good access to Interstate 5 and not far from the airport and I 205 freeway.

I stayed here for 8 months and this price reflects that. It is a really good location to downtown via back roads to avoid traffic on 5. Close to Vancouver WA which is a real nice city plenty to do. I love to ride my bike and there are several great trails right at your fingertips. The Columbia river is at your backdoor. Only complaint is the road traffic and sometimes airplanes. Although the spaces are paved, they still are a bit off of level. Easy hookups and the newer sites in back are protected water lines. Plenty of room to pull out the slides. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here several times. It appears that they have new managers and are trying to bring it back up to what it use to be years ago. When I made the reservation the gentlemen I talked to was rather short with me but when we checked in the lady who helped us was very nice. There are still mostly permanent residents in this park but a lot of the ones that left trash at their sites are gone but still room for improvement. It is very convenient to Portland and we would stay here again. The newer sites are in the back. Tighter but nice. Lots of train, plane and auto noise. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

This park is reasonably priced and fairly close to the I-5. The park has best cable TV service ever. The negatives are location (industrial area), packed in like sardines, no trees and terrible Wi-Fi. If we come this way again, I would hope to find something better but in Portland that may not be possible. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at the Columbia River RV Park for 5 days in our 40' RV. Check in was easy with our reservation. They accept mail delivery, which was a big help traveling for a year. Getting to our site was easy and pulling in was not a problem, although the sites are close to one another. There is no logic to who stays in the large pull-through spaces since we saw vans and pop up trailers in the spaces. The sites are level so no need for blocks or levelers. The pull-through sites' utilities are set up for big rigs so carry lots of cords and hoses. The showers and laundry are controlled by a keypad but they don't always work. The shower and restrooms are controlled by a light timer which means every 2 minutes the lights go off if the sensor doesn't see movement. Unfortunately the showers are nowhere near the showers so you constantly have to step out of the pitch dark shower and restroom and wave your arms around to get the lights to come on. It is very unsafe. Our Verizon Wi-Fi worked fine so we didn't need the park's Wi-Fi. There are no trees so our satellite worked fine. There is propane on hand which is nice. The cons are that there is nothing really close to this park except the Portland airport and the planes take off over the park and they fly all day and up to 11 PM. If we come to Portland again we will probably look for another park away from the airport. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.
