Level concrete sites, decent length. Paved streets. Free WiFi, limited cable too. Utilities located at rear of site - off door side. Staff was friendly and helpful. FYI, it is located near the west end of an international airport about 1/4 mile south of the flight path of commercial and military jets, so if the wind is out of the west it will be noisy. I would stay here again for a few nights when passing through the area. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

In Portland for a family wedding in late August, we stayed through Labor Day. First, this is an urban park, not a resort facility of any sort. Yes, it's across the two-lane highway from the Columbia River, but it really doesn't have river access, as there are homes and businesses lining the riverbank. And it's right under the path of the airport. Now, being there for ten nights, the commercial planes, although not silent, didn't bother us much after a day or so. But what did bother us were the fighter jets from the Oregon National Guard station that take off from the airport, too. They have a vital function as they protect the West Coast from Canada down through Northern California, but they are LOUD. Like rattle the coach loud. The good news is that they aren't taking off as frequently as the commercial planes - the bad news is they are taking off at all. But like I said, they have a vital function. There's a move afoot to limit them somehow citing noise pollution, but the typical response is - why'd you buy a house in the flight path? Now, the park. It's adequate. You're close to your neighbors, there's a couple of off-leash areas for dogs on either end of the park, the wi-fi is typically a bit spotty, but considering how close you are to Portland, it's going to work for a lot of folks. The staff were fine, generally helpful and nice. The one shower facility closer to us (at the back of the park) wasn't as clean as I'd like, but the one near the office was better. I did laundry and for two good-sized loads, wash and dry was $6.00. The folks we met there were uniformly nice (dog owners often are and that's my entree to most people). All in all, we were pleased with our stay which allowed us to explore the area at a leisurely pace. Would come back again. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You're in the northeast part of the city, so head east on I-84 to Multnomah Falls and Mt. Hood Village. West, you head into the city center, and Powell's Books is a must for any reader. Also consider Pittock Mansion where you can get a picture of the city with Mt. Hood in the background. Consider taking Tri-Met, their public rail (and bus) transport, or Uber/Lyft to avoid downtown parking. The station is about a half mile from the Park.

Location- Good location close to highway. It is close to the Columbia River, but no views. Entry / Exit- Easy to get in and out of park and site. Cleanliness-Area around trash cans is cluttered. On our visit, someone had spilled cat litter in front of the trash bin. They didn't bother to clean it up. RV Site- Site was large enough to extend out awning. Was able to park car on the site. Although adequate, somewhat close to neighbors. View- Other RV's. Full Timers-Yes, and sites are untidy and unkept. One site had motor oil all over the pad. Landscaping- Nice landscaping but maintenance is lacking. Lawn looks like it hasn't been mowed in a while. Utilities- Power was good, good satellite, internet on par with other parks. Park Road Surface-Paved. Noise- Close to Portland airport. You will hear planes taking off, but noise level is acceptable. Staff- OK, customer service acceptable but not over the top. Issues-None. Comments- Should be a nicer park with some TLC. Full timers should be re-located to a separate section as it gives park an overall bad appearance. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

We arrived just after noon to discover the office is closed between noon and 1:00 PM. During our check-in process, we had to sign off agreeing to the park's rules; one which we'd never seen in over 300 campgrounds at which we've stayed. We had to agree not to abandon our RV. Believe it or not, that had happened here! The staff was great, the park immaculate and internal roads easy to navigate. Also the signage was very helpful in locating the RV park. FYI - you are close to the Portland airport and, while quite over night, the flights morning begin around 5:30 AM. We'd stay here again if in the Portland area! We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Most residents are permanent. Hard to get a reservation/site. They should charge more for permanent spaces as the monthly or yearly rate seems to be a bargain. Reserve early. A neighbor complained about me running my diesel engine as I was parking. How else can you move a diesel powered motorhome?! We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

This is a relatively large park with a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. Driveways are asphalt and site pads are concrete. Driveways and site pads are in good condition. There seems to be a large number long-term residents. Overall, I would give high marks to the condition of the park facilities and the landscaping. We were in what appears to be a newer section. The sites were a little narrow. We had to squeeze past the shrubs to get around the perimeter of the motorhome. We had full hook-ups with 50 amp electric, no picnic table or fire ring. There is free WiFi which was generally OK, I would rate it 7 out of 10. Restrooms and laundry were in good condition and clean. The location is good for visiting Portland, about 10 minutes to downtown. We paid an average of $37.88 per night for 12 nights with Good Sam discount. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Access to the park is easy from I5. We did not have a reservation but arrived early in the day (1:00 PM) and discovered they had only one spot left. Check in was quick and easy. Our clerk warned us that they were having internet problems. The service was "spotty". It wasn't spotty. It was just plain sloooooow. The roads are paved and easy to maneuver. Sites are, as others mentioned, concrete and paving stones. No table or fire pit. Power, Water and Cable are center rear and the sewer was far far back. I'm glad we carry extra lengths 'cause we needed them. We attempting to connect the sewer but we discovered the previous user broke the elbow from his connector and just left it there. I had to get maintenance to remove it as it was really stuck (they were quick and attentive|). It would have been nice if they would have inspected the site before we got there. Everything else worked very well. Good cable TV (with out the damned box). No shopping or food within walking distance of the park. Points lost for: tight site, broken sewer fitting, large trash bin at our door step (site 40). We paid $40.50 inc tax (if there was any) with a Good Sam discount and felt it was a fair price. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This rate is based on a month-long stay with a Good Sam discount. We stayed a month this year and also a month last year: not because we love it so much but because it is the easiest to book. Portland RV Parks are cumbersome in the way they charge "monthly" rates. They only have X number of sites eligible for a monthly rate and they are all full. So you must get on a waiting list and hope your name comes up. You also must fill out an application and some require a background check. This is a big, fat hassle for us as we need to get booked due to our big-rig size and can't afford to wait too long. Columbia River does allow you to pay weekly for your monthly stay, which is kind, as they will give NO refunds for any reason whatsoever.

The park is nice and tidy with concrete pads and paved interior roads. The sites are short and tight with a strip of green grass. Patio but no picnic tables. No pool or playground. There are two fenced dog runs at the extreme opposite ends of this largish park, so if you are in the middle (like we were) your dog will never make it to the run to do his business. Which appears to be a big problem in this park as there are many signs throughout the park scolding dog owners about letting their dogs relieve themselves on people's sites. (Which I TOTALLY agree with, but is geographically challenging in this park.) One dog park is dirt (which in Portland usually means "mud") and the other one is mostly grass.

Every morning about 8 a.m. military jets scream overhead and while not a big deal for us, it is good to be aware of when booking. The park is pleasantly located near the Columbia River with an excellent walk / jog / bike path. Also convenient to diesel / propane / restaurants and shopping. While I hope we don't stay here again next year (sigh), we probably will. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Our visit was a 1-nighter, in-and-out. $40 rate is for a back-in site. First Impression: Crowded. In the flight-path of Portland's airport. Safety: Office warns to keep bicycles inside unit. Access: We took exit 13 from I-84, go north around bend to the left to 122nd street, turn right, then left at the "T", drive about 5 miles past airport to NE 13th street, turn left. You can also come in from I-5, go east on NE Marine Drive. Good signage. Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Used for check-in only, no store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available. Good Sam discount. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room or rec center. Laundry room. Restrooms/showers not inspected. No propane sales. No playground. Dog walk areas. Campground: Next to Columbia river but no signs of flooding problems. No storm shelter. No trees. Interior roads are slightly narrow, asphalt in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig and long coach friendly. Prevosts shouldn't have problems. No tent area, yurts, or cabins. Sites are all cramped, level, concrete, pull-through and back-in (60' long), grass between. Sites have concrete parking area adjacent. Utilities at rear of site with FHU-20/30/50; metered for monthlies. Adequate water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, at ground level, rear of site (I needed 2 stinky tubes). No patios; no picnic tables. No room for ground fires; no fire rings. Good satellite views. Free cable TV (34 channels). Free Wi-Fi but office advises of poor performance (true). Verizon phone and 4G at 3 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: Airline aircraft start at 6 AM. No railroad, local traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (late August): no insect issues. Runners: CG roads good for running. Yoga: sites are plenty big enough for your mat. Conclusion: Score 5-Acceptable. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

This place gets high ratings because of the location. It's convenient. There's no way it would be rated this high if it were in the boonies. I'd say 80% of people staying here are permanent residents. It's a trailer park with very old RVs. It claims to be Big Rig friendly but all big rigs here seemed to have run over the grass out of necessity. You absolutely need to unhook before going to your site. The sites are on top of each other. If you put out your slides, that's all the space you have. The most hysterical thing is that they claim to be pet-friendly. They have nothing written other than "pick up after your pets", but upon check in the guy told us that we couldn't walk our pets in the park. They expected us to walk about 1/4 mile out of the park, across the busy street and into another park's dog run (which is all dirt). Their reasoning was to "protect the grass". There's about 1 foot of grass on each side of each site. We saw sites with junk on their site but park is worried about the integrity of the grass. Another short-term resident approached us and said "they say don't do it but everyone does because it's a ridiculous non-written rule". The area is also very strange. It's between the hood and a nicer more suburban area. Our site was unlevel. Parking was tough because of the location of the services - be careful of your slides. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

We love this park because it's so close to downtown Portland. WiFi, and cell service for is always slow, and spotty. Site was level, grounds clean, staff very helpful. Lots of residents, but clean, and nice. Bathrooms are cleaned perfectly everyday, cable I can never say, as that is not what we do traveling. Will come back again. We had easy access from I5 coming south and upon leaving the I5 access going south we crossed three lanes for entrance. Our site at park was large, good utilities and location of utilities, cable tv, cement and grass with no table. Definitely big rig easy and will return. Overall Rating:

City RV park near the Columbia River and very near the airport. So yes, you are going to hear planes and sometimes it's deafening. Neat and tidy, most residents are just that, living there and working. Very quiet at night. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Laundry on site also. There is a group room. All paved. Sites are concrete, but very skinny. My door ended up on the grass, which was a mud hole. It rained an entire day, then the sprinklers run every night, so always muddy. This is not a good park for dogs, but if you need to be in the city, and you take your dog with you, there are many places to take your dog and Portland in general is very dog friendly.

The Dogs Opinion (it's all about the dogs): There is a pretty nasty postage stamp dog park across the road that is owned by the RV park. It's just dirt, and because of the rain, it was a mud pit. There are signs everywhere to not let your dog onto the grass, so I took my dogs to the dog park, then walked them in the street next door with houses. That was pleasant. Just east on Marine drive, just past Salty's restaurant, is a big marina and parking lot, go to the far end. You are supposed to pay $5 to park. You can walk down to the beach on the river then hook up with a trail. There is also a paved bike path but I would not walk dogs there, as there are many bicyclist. The beach and trail are lovely and quiet. You can have your dogs off leash here. Also there are many parks in the city that have an off leash area that is unfenced. There are fenced dog parks not too far. Use the Dog Goes dog park finder app to see all the parks.

TV? Cable TV with good channels. Very nice, even had the OWN channel.

Cell phone/Wi-Fi? Speedtest? Verizon is strong here. The RV park Wi-Fi is 1.5 ish mpbs. Too slow for me, I used my jet pack. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Motorhome.

What's nearby? Salty's is a restaurant right on the river and the parking lot was packed every night that I drove by. I did not eat there. Drive south on 33rd to Alberta street and go west (right). There are tons of eateries and fun shops here. Healthy Pets Northwest is at 20th street a great place for good dog food and accessories. CruzRoom is an awesome place to eat with unusual tacos. Many restaurants have good happy hour specials.
