Asphalt pads, shaded with Pines. Long & wide sites. Some sites have close by others not. Extra for dogs & cable, WiFi at office, very little cell service. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Access to a branch of the Rogue River from the campground, both below and above a small dam. We hit an amazing stone fly hatch. Crater Lake National Park is about 1 hour away on well-paved roads.

This is an older park, no cable or TV reception due to location. Wifi is slow but OK for email etc. No cell phone reception. The park has lots of trees and the staff are very helpful and provided us with lots of information on local sites etc.

The restrooms are old and tired but at least they are clean and have plenty of hot water. Sites are sealed but not level. Probably would stay here again but only good for a couple of nights. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Great location and very scenic. I don't think it is as big rig friendly as the park says it is. The sites are pretty much level and not overly crowded. Very little road noise. Nearest gas and grocery store are several miles away. Our big complaint about the park is the bathrooms. There is one toilet and shower for the men and the same for the women. No urinal in the men's. I suspect the bathrooms could be a real problem in high season. They were acceptably clean. We would probably have to think a little before staying there again. However, they are somewhat the only game in the immediate area. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a great option if you are visiting Crater Lake NP and have a so-called "big rig", or almost anything over 32'. Site pads are asphalt, wide, and quite deep. There are a limited number of pull-thru's and satellite-friendly sites, but that said, Crater Lake RV park offers good value. Just steps from our site was an easy hiking trail, which led to a dam and pond along the Rogue River. Staff was super friendly and helpful. No doubt we will visit this park again. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is in the trees and has wonderful, level pads. The people are very friendly and helpful. We loved it here. About 45 minutes from Crater Lake, but this was the closest we could get. Unfortunately, we had several smoky days due to the fires but we still loved this park. No campfires allowed. I would definitely stay there again. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

No laundry at park. You must drive about a half a mile toward Prospect for laundry. Gas, pizza, old hotel with gourmet, expensive food and a small store in Prospect. There is so much to do just on Hwy. 62 that we spent 2 days just hiking and doing that without even going into Crater Lake NP. Wonderful place.

This is not a destination park but a good place to stay for touring the area. There were lots of trees, out satellite did not work. The place was a little run down. We could get a Verizon signal on the front porch of the main office. We had site 47, it was roomy enough. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

It's a good park to see the crater lake NP. No cable, Wi-Fi and no cell and a little untidy pads but level. Walking up to the office to make phone calls and internet is inconvenient. Friendly owners, good hand outs for info in the area. Others rate it higher but for us its a 6. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

The park has a great woodsy feel to it with the forest all around you. Short walk to the nearby reservoir for fishing. The host greeted us and showed us, on the map, where to see sights, get gas, do some shopping, etc., which was very helpful. We had site 7 which had a large tree blocking the side so we could not quite pull in with our coach and trailer. It took us 2 hours to get set up. I should've asked for another site more strongly. There were some back-ins available and I had to unhook anyway. But, the staff men were terrific in getting my trailer hooked back up. They had free hot dogs and s'mores Saturday night which was a nice touch. Nice, short drive up to Crater Lake from here. We'd stay here again. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed for five nights while exploring Crater Lake and the surrounding area (it's a 40 minute drive to the Crater Lake visitors center). Our site was extremely long (probably could have parked two big motorhomes in it) but not very wide / not much camping space. Fortunately there was no one next to us so we had plenty of room. The park is heavily wooded and rustic feeling. There's a nice trail leading out of the park that we could walk our dogs on (in addition to walking them through the park) which goes to the nearby dam/reservoir. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had no AT&T or Verizon cell reception, even with our booster. The office has a stronger booster on a very tall pole which you can use if needed. The WiFi worked quite well (streaming movies is not allowed), but it's worth noting the park was about half empty when we stayed. The biggest drawback (apart from the lack of cell signal) is the noise from the highway. Our site backed up to the highway so we heard very loud trucks going by all day. Fortunately at night the highway was mostly quiet. We were also surprised (and disappointed) with an extra fee when checking in. When reserving, the web site listed the rate as $28.50 (for 2-6 nights) and said "all sites have full hook-ups with 20, 30 & 50 amp service". When we checked in, we saw an extra $3 per night added to our bill for 50 amp service. There's also a per-dog fee but at least that was listed on the web site. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a small convenience store in town that has basic necessities (milk, bread, etc.) but for any major shopping you'll have to drive pretty far. Best to do most grocery shopping before arriving.

The park was not well manicured, but had beautiful trees and a great forest feeling. We had a back in site, and asphalt level pad. No TV reception on our antenna. Also no Sprint or Verizon. They did have a booster at the office, so you could call. WiFi was weak and really didn't work. Great place to stay to visit Crater Lake and all the beautiful waterfalls on the Rogue River. On Sat. night they had free hotdogs and s'mores and musical entertainment. People in the office were so nice and helpful with info about this area. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Score a 10 for rustic and woodsy; a 10 for long, level blacktop sites; and a 10 for the nice staff who provides a lot of good information about the area and hosts a wiener roast & s'mores party (and ours featured live fiddle music) around the campfire every Saturday. Bathrooms deserve a 4 because they're small and old; better if you don't have to use them. No Verizon service at all; there's a booster next to the office, so we could get connectivity there (they don't allow streaming), but that wasn't really convenient. We were backed up to the road and did hear some road traffic; fortunately there wasn't too much of this later in the evening, and not too many sites have this issue, but you may want to ask for a site away from the road. Overall we liked this park and would definitely return. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're staying for several days, do your grocery shopping in advance. Gas, post office, pizza joint, and small little market in Prospect, but that's about it. The Trophy Room looks to be a cool bar/restaurant that will re-open soon; that will be a nice addition to the little town. We liked Beckie's 8 miles up the road for breakfast - it's right on the way to Crater Lake NP.

The cost includes $28.50 per night, plus $2.75 per day for 50 amp, and $1.00 per day for a dog. This park is approximately 20 miles from Crater Lake National Park. The park is big rig friendly, with interior paved roads and asphalt sites. We had a pull-through site, but I believe there are back-in sites available as well. Sites are nicely spaced in a wooded setting, but the trees aren't a problem for maneuvering. You can choose 30 or 50 amp service, but there is an additional charge of $2.75 per day for 50 amp, which wasn't mentioned until it appeared on our receipt and we inquired. There is also an additional fee ($1 per day) for pets, which wasn't mentioned upfront. Check-in was friendly and there was a guide to the site. Verizon service, both data and cell, was practically nil at this park. There was park wi-fi, but it didn't work very well. The park does sell or rent wi-fi boosters. The park does not have a laundry room. There are trails for walking pets. There's a nice picnic area a short walk through the woods, adjacent to a reservoir. We would stay again if passing through on a weekend, but not during the week since we need internet service. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 2 weeks so apparently liked it enough. It has positives and negatives. The hosts are very nice, friendly and helpful. It is centrally located to many visitor attractions. We stayed in two different sites. In one, we could fit the motorhome in but had to jockey the car around to avoid blocking the site next to us. It was not very level. The second site was much longer and more suited to a large motorhome. The interior roads are narrow so be careful with larger units. The WII FI didn't work at either site. (Hint: The library just across the street has WII FI. You can sit in your car, inside the library, or outside at a table. It worked great.) Due to trees, our satellite did not work. We could use our Verizon phones if we sat right by the office. The strangest thing was how the computer did the billing especially if you extended your stay. I couldn't determine by looking at the receipts if I was charged correctly. I verified the price by checking my account once we left. If we needed hookups, we would stay here again. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

The park was wonderful. They had a direct tv receiver box and had a good variety of channels. After we got set up the direct tv would not connect due to one of the dishes were blocked so they moved us. They helped us get moved over and set back up in the new site. The Wi-Fi was unusable but other than that, we had a great time and the people were very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again! We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.
