it rained the whole time we were there and since the site is narrow asphalt surrounded by dirt/pine needles it was pretty messy, but not the parks fault. The roads in the park are very narrow which do make it difficult for larger rigs to maneuver into the narrow sites. There is no cell service unless you sit on the porch by the office. There is no satellite reception due to the trees, although we were told at check in that they had Direct TV we could hook up to. When we could not get it to work, the staff said well it didn't always work out well. There is no internet service. You can get the park internet to work if you sit on the porch by the office. Since it was to rain the entire length of our stay, we decided to leave early and the park did refund the last few days of our stay. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

The park is set inside a beautiful forest, with very tall, mature trees and landscaping. It's a gorgeous setting that is peaceful and serene. Nearby there are many hiking opportunities to gorges and waterfalls that will take your breath away... and Crater Lake is just a short drive away. We only planned to stay two nights; we stretched it to seven.

The WiFi is awful and data coverage is even worse. We didn't come here to surf the internet so it was ok, but still... some connectivity would have been nice just to look up nearby attractions.

The people are super friendly and helpful, the grounds are immaculately maintained and the sites are long and spacious. Hookups were very good... water is a little hard but tastes great, and the 50 amp power was rock solid.

We'll definitely be back. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Crater Lake is a must-see. The park provides you with maps of local attractions that are also well worth the hike... waterfalls, gorges, bridges, etc. "The Rabbit Ears" is a gargantuan pair of granite monoliths that tower over a breathtaking landscape. The drive up Forest Service Road 6515 can get a little narrow and dicey but very doable when it's not raining or snowing.

Helpful staff.
Shaded asphalt sites in various sizes. Try to stay away from the noisy road side sites. Large shaded sitting areas.
Restrooms/showers needed a good cleaning.
Compliments that there is Wi-Fi in the whole park with all that trees! And the Wi-Fi is good when there are not too many guests, otherwise very slow.
No laundry.
No AT&T phone coverage at the sites, only in front of the office. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an RV park review not a review of the beautiful area around it. the park is tight, with so many trees that satellite is doubtful. The restrooms are trailers that have been brought in, one toilet and two showers in each, very old, so old they appear dirty and linoleum coming up, etc. They need to be replaced. There is no WiFi and cell service does not work here. The hosts are wonderful. Traffic noise dies down at night. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice staff and mostly shady sites. Some sites are not quite level, having a downslope. They charge you extra for having a dog. They tell you they will charge you if you break any rules. Not a bad idea with as many jerks that don't understand what quiet time is, your "special" dog has to be on a leash, etc. Zero Verizon cell service here and while it say wi fi, it simply does not work, period! Most sites. have the sewer, water and electric midway on the site, so to hook up you either have to be in a site 30 feet longer than you really need, or you hang out into the road, or you must unhook your rig and park behind. Three big trash cans, two were empty and chained closed, one that was not chained was overflowing. Not sure what the logic is there. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

We had reserved a pull-thru spot. We were given a small, tight, back-in spot because there were no pull-thrus available. It would have been nice to know that in advance. There were surcharges per night for our dogs and for 50 amp service. We had no cell service and erratic wifi. However, there was a lovely river and hiking trails next to it and it was very quiet. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Convenient to the Nat. Park. Wooded and rustic. Limited or no wifi, cell coverage iffy. We experienced a problem. On July 1st, we had a flat tire. Since there was no Verizon service, the managers loaned us their landline to call for Roadside assistance and make arrangement for a tire replacement and mount service to get us somewhere to get the other 5 replaced. It was a relief and a kindness we really appreciate. Good people! After getting replacements in LaPine, OR, our trip continues. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Walking trails convenient. Crater Lake NP within a 35 mi drive, must see!
The Park sponsored 4th of July weekend weenie roast and s'mores. Local guitarist led an old fashioned, tuneful Hootenanny, most campers participated. Then on the 4th, another singalong with rootbeer floats.

Fun camp hosts. Put us in the back next to the road and we heard traffic all night. Wifi isn't good, mainly because of the trees. It was pretty and we liked being in the woods. Walked the trail to the river. Aside from not sleeping well because of the road noise, it was nice. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

All spaces are paved and DEEP. Lots of privacy. There was no cable. Direct TV was available for $16 for a 3 day stay. The camp host couldn't get a signal from any box. No cell service (AT&T). They do have a good DVD collection they'll loan out. There's an extra charge for 50 amp, and for pets. Friendly folks. All in all a nice park. Park is well laid out with quite a few LARGE sites. Lots of tall trees but they are under control and not a hindrance except to satellite. If you have a roof mounted dish, good luck! Ours was not so I was able to place on neighbor's lot (with his permission) and found a shot through trees. Staff is super nice. We had our mail forwarded here and they delivered to site. Was told that wifi was available at office. We have an external adapter and picked it up well at a distant site. There is no laundry but there is a fair one in town. Very quiet. We would stay here again. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

This RV park is in a lovely woodsy setting and all campsites are very well maintained. There was enough breathing room between us and our neighbors on both sides. In 5 minutes you can be in the woods and take lovely walks. It was very quiet.

The best thing about it, for us, was the folks managing the RV park. The husband and wife were so helpful! We got a flat on our 5th wheel and waited over an hour for help to arrive from Medford. When the guy from Medford could not get the lug nuts off, the park manager said "I think I have that tool", and scooted off to get it. In the meantime, the guy from Medford left! He turned us on to someone in town who came to help and when we were successfully changed, he used his on site compressor to check air pressure all around.

All of this took about 4 hours past our check out time, but he said "no worries". We just could not get over how nice and helpful he and his wife were for us, even accepting a package delivery for us while we were there. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Creepy park. I don't know or understand all the high rated reviews. In our spot, they had an outhouse in the back part of the site. Tall weeds in sites, park not taken care of. An old manufactured and run-down mobile home 2 sites down from our site. Hosts were very nice though, we must say. Wouldn't camp here again. Would go down the road. This is an older park, no cable or TV reception due to location. Wifi is slow but OK for email etc. No cell phone reception. The park has lots of trees and the staff are very helpful and provided us with lots of information on local sites etc.

The restrooms are old and tired but at least they are clean and have plenty of hot water. Sites are sealed but not level. Probably would stay here again but only good for a couple of nights. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
