Easy to get to/from the interstate tuning left on Wallace (Church) and going straight up the hill. The park is well groomed, fresh dust-free gravel, long and level pull-through with FHU. Very nice for an overnighter. Hookups, Wifi and Verizon all worked well. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Staying here overnight on our way to Seattle. It's located off hwy 84 and very convenient to get to I5, Portland, etc. Close by the Columbia River. Park has new owners that are trying to upgrade from the bad previous owners. We had site #2 and all these sites had fresh gravel and level grounds. Electric (50 amp) works great. Great water pressure. Has free Wifi. Lots of wind from the west when we were there, but warm...nice. Had a major fire in the area a couple of days ago, but missed the park. Wound stay here again when passing thru. Only thing charged is a $10 free for a reservation. Why not just include it in the price instead of making it stand out? Still, liked it and will tell others we know. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Yeah, this park is a dump, but it's an OK dump for an overnight stay, in spite of the rating I gave it. $35 is a high price for this place, but I got the last available space at 2 PM. If you can fill the park at that price, I guess why not? Also, it is one of the few places in the Columbia gorge where train noise is not an issue. There is apparently not anybody in the office most of the time, although there was a nice lady there when we were there. You look on the board at the office to see what sites are available, then park and put the money in a drop box. A sign said they can take credit cards, but you have to call and get somebody to come to the office. Sites are very narrow but fairly level. Some have trees that interfere with slides. Some sparse grass but mostly gravel and very dusty. Verizon cell and internet worked. Its best to approach the park on Wallace St, coming uphill from the highway. My GPS took me up Main and Vista, where it is a really tight turn into the park. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Well this just for a stop for the night and it will work for you. Nothing fancy but good power and water. Pretty level spots but not many to choose from. Lots of permanents here but do not bother you at all. Very quite place. Mens room under construction but has a ladies room. Easy roads to get around. $30 and you put it in a box at the office door. Manager very polite. The waste drain is pretty far back so I did not hook up sewer. Would stay again if in the area. Remember nothing fancy here. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a serviceable campground, pretty much DIY. You put money in an envelope and choose your own site. If you want WiFi (free), you call the park host and he comes down to the office and gives you WiFi passwords for as many devices as you'd like to use. WiFi works well. The sites are fairly level, have full hookups, and some have some shade. The picnic tables are good. The views are quite nice--you can see the river and the surrounding hills, and it is quite pretty. Nice rather small trees. Grass at all the sites. This is a place where overnighters come, and there are also temporary people, and up the hill are people who live there. No complaints at all. The overnight fee is fair. The showers/restroom is okay. The showers are not very private. Cleanliness is so-so. This is a place where the restrooms are open for showers at $3, and there are locks on the TP dispensers. You can figure it out. No complaints here. I'd stay here again for an overnight or even for a few days. Peaceful overall. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is graveled but the site we stayed in was level and had a little shade. Wifi was charged for so we did not use. VZ cell service worked great. No cable TV, but all other utilities worked fine. It was quiet at night although trains run along the west side of town about every 20 minutes. They never blow their horns so it didn't bother us. They don't take reservations, you pick your spot and use the envelope system at the office to pay. We stayed in a pull through site and stayed hooked up to a 37' travel trailer. They have both 30 & 50 amp power. We stayed one night and would stay there again. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nightly rate reflects weekly discount, $150 for a week. Basic, no frills, park. Quiet place. No loose dogs running around during my stay. Mgr was friendly enough. He prefers you just drop your money in the box at the office and pick a site, but he picked up the phone each time (3) I called. RV park options are limited in this area. Pull thru site was long enough for my 41' coach and longbed dually to fit. Good water pressure. No cable and zero antenna tv stations. Pretty good wi-fi for streaming. Laundry is $1.50 wash and $1.50 dry. No fenced-in dog area. Lots of permanent residents, but not a lot of traffic coming and going in the park, which is a good thing. I wouldn't put in in my schedule to stay here again, but if I was in the area and needed a place to stay, this would be o.k. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Bulldog Diner by the Sinclair gas station has good burgers. Big Texan is a greasy spoon and not that good. Market/deli across from Big Texan has minimal supplies. Closest hardware store is in Wasco, about 8 miles away. McDonalds is down the road at Exit 104. Stonehenge War Memorial (across the river) is worth a visit.

First, this park accepts cash only. We stayed one night. We called ahead and was told that somebody would be there to check us in but when we arrived, the office was locked. There are signs telling you to pick a site and place your cash payment in an envelope and drop in the payment box outside the office. We drove around and found a pull-through that barely fit our 40' motorhome and tow. Most of the sites are back-ins with a row of about 10 pull-throughs. The sewer is way in the back so we didn't hook it up. We did hook up the water and electric. Water pressure was pretty good. The park itself is rundown, filled with permanent and longterm residents. On the night we stayed, we were the only transients there. Wi-Fi signal was good. No cable and no off-leash dog park. There were dogs running loose in the park. They were friendly and wanted to play with our dogs (with the exception of one enormous rottweiler) but if there was a rule about off leash dogs, it wasn't being enforced. We never saw the park owner or managers although they were mentioned in the website as living in the park. By the way, the park in reality doesn't look anything like the park you see in their website. The $30 a night rate is overpriced for this place but there are very few options in the area particularly if you're exhausted from driving all day and just need a place to rest. This place was good enough for one night but we won't be staying here again. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

We didn't even stay here. We drove through and saw how run down it was and decided it wasn't worth $30 a night. We just went and parked in the empty lot at the bottom of the road. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

It may lack something in ambiance but it meets a need in a stretch of highway with few alternatives (boondocking, COE usually full). Level sites long enough to leave the toad hooked up, 50 amp power, sewer (at rear of site), good water far as I could tell. Friendly staff although it doesn't seem there is usually anyone in the office. I think they try and catch up with you on entry. Bathroom somewhat industrial but clean. Very slow Verizon extended network data connection, but it was good enough for what I needed, so I didn't pop for the WiFi. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

While I only intended to stay overnight, it was so quiet that I opted to stay a second day. The restrooms and showers were clean, with plenty of hot water for my shower. The sunsets were magnificent and more than made up for the lack of some other amenities. I had 50 amp service, and a large lawn at my site. The manager was friendly, but appeared overworked. Laundry was clean and had extended hours. I would definitely stay here again when traveling I-84. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park was not difficult to find or approach. It is not the one next to I-84, but just up the hill two blocks and further from road noise. The manager was working on the grounds when we arrived and he promptly met us on his golf cart. He led us to our site which was level, w/FHU and without difficulty we were connected in little time. As it was a warm afternoon in the Columbia Gorge, we ran the air for a few hours. Power was unremarkable at our site. The park occupants were a mix of travelers and monthly folks. The place was clean with no clutter. There are few shady sites. The interior roads are gravel, but in good condition. The sites are roomy with mowed lawn between sites. We did not use the park Wi-Fi, restrooms or showers. This park fully met our need for a good overnight stop and we would use it again. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hard park to rate, older, a little neglected, but owner is very friendly. His business is primarily fisherman, hunters and folks who work in the area for the energy companies. This is a great park to use as a base camp for fishing, hunting or working, but don't think I would bring a family here. Electrical, water and sewer are in good working order, restrooms are kept clean and well stocked. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a site for the night and pulled into this park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites are narrow. We were barely able to put out our slide. The neighbors were only 3 feet away from the slide, if that. Even though there was 6 sites for overnight, only 3 of them are usable by rigs longer than 30 feet. And that is questionable. The site we were in was really too short for us. Our rig is a 30 foot Class A motor home and Jeep toad. The sites are gravel and fairly level though. WI-Fi is an extra charge. I did not get it. Although the manager was out mowing, he was mowing mainly weeds, very little grass in the park. We may or may not stay here again. We camped at Rufus RV Park in a Motorhome.
