Overall Rating:

We made reservations to stay 8 nights but when we checked in, we were told we would have to move for the last night so we changed our travel plans & departed after 7 nights. The park is a short drive from I-5 (Exit 258) along busy multi lane city streets. The intersection off the main street onto the side street where the park is located is controlled making turns onto the street easier. The interior roads are paved. The interior roads have sufficient width and gentle turns making maneuvering larger RV's easy. There are 3 sections to the park. Two of them seem to be for extended stays (by the month). The third is for shorter stays. There is a mixture of back-ins and pull through sites. This park doesn't seem to understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat. The park was built on a gentle slope but there was no attempt made to tier any of the sites so most of the sites generally have a bi-directional slope. The parking pads are concrete. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were spread out along the middle to rear of the sites. The sewer connection was at ground level making it easy to establish a downhill flow depending on discharge point. The P/T sites were long enough to say connected to a toad unless you connect to the utilities then you'll need a lot of hose/cable to reach the utility connections while remaining connected to your toad.. Sites had sufficient room for opening slides. Sites have an outside table but no fire pits. Site orientation doesn't allow RV's to cast shade onto the patio side. Distance & grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. There are trees scattered throughout the park so satellite reception would be dependent upon your site and dish configuration. The park information listed about 66 cable channels but didn't mention anything about broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a large, very well maintained RV park with paved roads and level paved sites. Each campsite has a tree, a large grassy area, a picnic table and a sidewalk. Individual BBQs are throughout, and there is a large covered party area with picnic tables and a large BBQ next to the pool. The check-in staff was quick and friendly. There are several pet areas including one that is fenced for a short run, and it includes a couple of chairs. The only unfortunate part was I was too far from the clubhouse to access Wi-Fi. My satellite TV worked perfectly. I have a 38' motorhome towing a Tahoe, and the roads were spacious enough to navigate in and out of my spot. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed overnight a couple times on our way north/south on I-5. The site and restrooms were clean, fellow campers were quiet, service was friendly and easy, wifi worked well enough for me to get some work done. There is a train nearby that you can hear occasionally; we have a soft sided pop top and so we hear it more than a hard-sided camper. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park, check in was very easy. This park has lots of live adoards but the space was clean, you would have never known they were live aboards. Spaces were large, and clean. Grass on each side. Pool and spa very clean. Great dog areas. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here a week. We were told that we would have to move on the last day because they didn't have any spots for a whole week. Talking to others at this campsite that it is common that people are moving from one site to another. This is the worst campground I have ever been in as far as scheduling. One person has moved four times in the week we have been here. We had to wait until noon to move to our site which wasted half a day of activities. Tried to ask the office if we could move into one of the sites that are sitting empty, but no, they could not move anyone around. They stated people are coming into that site and they couldn't have them move. One of the sites that we inquired about which was empty and remained empty all night. We used the laundry which was nice and clean. We didn't use the pool but many others did and it looked nice as well. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Our first time staying here, but we will return. One of the nicest parks we've been in. Nice, wide paved, interior roads (easy for big rigs), concrete pads with a sturdy picnic table. Hook-ups are conveniently placed and there is grass and trees at every site. Lots of nice shrubs and bushes around the perimeter of the park and all the vegetation is well maintained. Trees are big enough to provide some shade, but not so big as to interfere with satellite reception. Sites are big enough that you don't feel like a canned sardine. Staff is helpful and friendly. It's one of those (rarely seen) RV Resorts where you know as soon as you pull through the entrance that this is a place you're gonna' enjoy. It is a popular place though, so reservations are highly suggested. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Centrally located so you can do a lot of things: plenty of wineries to visit; just a couple of hours away from the gorgeous Oregon coast; magnificent Oregon Gardens is just up the road a bit; Salem's minor league baseball club plays its home games in Keizer Stadium about 2 or 3 miles north on I-5 or spend some time shopping in downtown Salem. And if your timing is right (usually the last couple weeks in August), the Oregon State Fairgrounds are not too far away.

After 11 years of full timing this park is truly in the top 5 parks we have stayed in across the country. Neat as a pin, grass cut every Monday, trees kept trimmed, cherry trees. Wide paved streets, wide pull thru sites. Great people in the office. Organized check-in. Small work-out room, nice pool and pool table. Clean laundry. Propane on site, We stayed for 3 months in a long term site. All the sites are neat as a pin, no clutter. Lots of flowers on the patios. Location is outstanding , about 1/2 mile off of I-5. 3 miles to Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Paneras' Panda Express etc. Exit 258 I-5 about 1 mile. We have a 45' Motor Home that fit just right! We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We had always stayed in another park when in this area, but they were full, so they recommended this RV Park. It was wonderful. Clean, off the main road, people were friendly, laundry was clean, and it is near to stores. Our daughter came for a visit with our two grandchildren, and they, who had never been to an RV Park before, were amazed at how nice it was. That "other" park is still our favorite, but this park definitely runs a very close second. Easy on, easy off I-5 with space to park two cars and our 36-foot 5th wheel. Will definitely be back. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Next exit south of Portland Avenue is Market. Fred Myers, Safeway, every fast-food, McGrath's on a side street, which has excellent fish dinners; Target and Best Buy right there too, along with Hobby Lobby, gas including diesel. Perfect spot to take care of all your needs.

This is one of the nicest RV parks we've stayed in. If you are in a vehicle that has a satellite in the front like we do, you probably won't get reception because of where the trees are. We ended up unhooking and putting our tow vehicle in the front of the motor home. Other than that this was a first class resort. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Excellent 5-Star modern RV Park. I thought it was pretty expensive but understood the costs once I got here. Cleanest RV Park I've ever been too, and I've paid more for other places! Jacuzzi, swimming pool, gym, pool table, the works. I didn't use those since it's a one night stay but totally appreciate the super clean and awesome shower and bathrooms, wow. What a treat. Highly recommended if budget is not a problem for you. I called around and basically any RV Park with hookups in the Salem area in a safe neighborhood was the same-ish price. Good Sam discount was nice. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Our visit was a 1-nighter: in-and-out. First Impression: Very attractive presentation, big and spread-out. Looks brand-new. Safety: No concerns.

Access: Exit 258 off I-5, head northeast to Astoria, turn left, municipal road in good condition, good signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Friendly office staff. No store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. Good Sam discount.

Facilities: Nice pool, indoor spa, small fitness room, no rec center. Didn't see a laundry room. Restrooms/showers not inspected but looks like the office was built yesterday. Propane sales. Playground. No off-leash dog run.

Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter. Decorative trees and bushes, manicured lawns. Interior roads are asphalt in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rig and long coach friendly. Prevosts won't have problems. No tent area, yurts, or cabins. Sites are all spacious, level, concrete, pull-through, nice, grass landscaping. Utilities at mid-rig with FHU-20/30/50; no meters. Low water pressure with "okay" taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, 4-6" above ground level. No concrete patios, picnic tables. Open ground fires not permitted and no fire rings. Good satellite views. Free cable TV (20+ channels). Free Wi-Fi with excellent coverage and bandwidth. Verizon phone at 5 bars. Recycle dumpster takes all household recyclables.

Noise: Nearby railroad sounds whistles, no aircraft, traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (mid September): no insects noted. Runners: CG roads excellent for running. Yoga: sites are plenty big enough for your mat. Conclusion: Score 10-Fabulous. A good "Glamping" campground. We camped at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
