Overall Rating:

This park is in the top two of the best campgrounds in Salem. Very neat, clean and well kept. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. All sites, both pull-through and back-ins have level concrete pads and a sturdy picnic table. There's also a metal stand to set your portable BBQ on so you don't have to use the picnic table as a base. Each site is surrounded by grass, shrubs and a tree. The trees are not so big that you feel like you're in a forest and with the grass on two sides, there's a nice, open feeling about the park. Sites are long enough for big rigs; although it may take some some judicious spotting of your rig to have enough room for your tow vehicle. Interior roads are asphalt with some corners that are a little tight...but nothing unmanageable. Nice clean laundry facilities - 9 washers ($1.50 per load), 10 dryers ($1.25 per load). Restrooms were equally clean and bright. All in all a very nice park. We'd stay there again. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are plenty of shopping opportunities just a short distance away from the campground. In fact, there's a big Safeway just across the fence. Fred Meyer and Walmart are both within 2-3 miles, plus there's just about every fast food chain known just a short drive away. Willamette Town Center Mall (about 4 miles south of the park, has a Jo-Ann's Fabric, Sears, Burlington Coat Factory and a host of other shops. For excellent Chinese food, try Yan Yan"s, about a mile south on Lancaster.

We stayed here one night on our way to Napa. We got here on Sunday just before 2PM and the office was closed. They left a folder for us with instructions and I picked up a provided registration envelope and put payment in the Dropbox. This park is close to I-5 so very convenient for us. It's super clean, beautifully landscaped, and sites have plenty of room and include a nice picnic table, cement patio, and a stand for your grill. I would definitely stay here again! AT&T and satellite worked from our spot. They have WiFi but I didn't use theirs. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park that is well maintained. Asphalt driveways, cement pads, grass between sites with large trees and still able to get satellite TV. It is a short drive off the freeway in an area of shops and middle class homes. All utilities are well placed and the drive ways are wide enough for easy access our motorhome and toad barely fit of our site. Like most parks today it has about 50% or more full timers. Easy check in this is a well run RV park and will return it is the best in the area. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

As for facilities this park is a 10. The issue is location. Although near grocery, Walmart and shopping, the noise from the Safeway strip center on the other side of the fence was the worst we have ever encountered. At 6-6:30 every morning the trash guys came and dumped Safeway's dumpsters followed by delivery trucks all day. It is a bad neighborhood as well. Sites on the west side are so tight that our 5th wheel barely fit. Then there was the 1 ton pick up to park. When we arrived, we found out the city water supply was not usable. Do not book any of the first 2 rows on the west side. Very loud all the time. If you book, get an email confirmation as they sometimes reassign you and don't tell you that. We were so disappointed. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park may not in the best area of town but the park itself is a jewel. Lovely landscaping all around the park. Very clean. Lots of full timers but all rigs very good conditions (mostly newer) and neat around the outsides. 3 nice dog parks for our lab to get some exercise and enjoy company of other dogs. We will definitely return. Our daughter lives in Salem and it took us a few trips to try this park but are really glad we finally did. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice RV Park. These people work extremely hard maintaining their park. Beautiful flowers and the grass is cut and edged perfectly. Several sites are long-term customers but you would only know because of the large LP tanks, all RVs and sites are very well maintained. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Spent a lot of time in the little towns around Salem. Go to the Oregon Gardens in Silverton and the Iris Gardens just north on I-5. Check out the downtown theatre in Salem (think it's call the Grand Theatre). We saw Shout the Musical, it was excellent. Go for lunch in the little town of Independence, several great restaurants.

Overall Rating:

We spent a week at the professionally managed and exceptionally well maintained park. Although in an urban area of Salem, access into the park is very easy with good signage. Interior roads and sites are paved with beautifully maintained grass, trees, and bushes separating sites and hiding hookups. Sites are long enough for most RVs and tow vehicles, and are level with a table and mid-site patio. Although next to a highway and behind a Safeway, the park was quiet at night. Verizon cell and data were strong, but park WiFi was, as expected in a large park, unusable. Cable TV was analog but very good, OTA had over 20 channels, and there were no obstructions to TV satellites. Many sites were obviously long-term residents; however, sites were will maintained and clear of clutter. A great place to stay while visiting Salem; close to downtown, shopping, and with easy access to the interstate. We'll stay here again. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Safeway and Wal-Mart are both nearby, as are many other dining and shopping opportunities. About 15 miles from the Woodburn Outlet center, with a huge selection of stores. The state capital area has beautiful gardens and walking tours.

For us, this campground was excellent for an overnight stay. The sites were clean, pull-thru sites were long enough for a 40 ft motorhome with connected tow vehicle. Hookups convenient for access. They did have trees but were satellite friendly. We are retired and travel around country year round. Many times, we just need a safe pull-thru site for the night with full hookups, satellite access for direct tv, and close to the interstate or highway. This campground met all these requirements and was very close to I-5. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

Immaculate park. Probably the cleanest laundry facility I have ever used! We were advised that our bikes on the back of the jeep might not be safe, so the hosts locked them in the storage shed for us. Really well kept park very convenient in the middle of town within walking to Safeway. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for one night. We were given a pull through site with nice grass and Patio area and the picnic table. The hookups for easy to get to and worked well. It is located right in town so maneuvering a big rig around the area is a little bit tight. However the roads inside the park were way wide enough and easy to navigate. The only negative is this park is right in Salem, Oregon and has no pool. Otherwise this park is a 10. This park is immaculate with beautiful flowers, 2 spacious laundry rooms with 8 W. and 8 D. and so easy to maneuver. Our site was a long concrete pad which was great for our 45 ft coach and our tow. There was a concrete patio with a picnic table and grass between the sites. The first night we got sprayed by the sprinklers. After informing the office one of the managers adjusted them so our coach and tow did not get watered. If we had been at any other park we would have been told to deal with the water as we have been told in the past. But the most outstanding feature at this park were the managers. From finding us a site without a reservation, moving us so we could stay longer, treating us like family and so much more, they went above and beyond any park we have ever been in. They were the BEST! Reservations are a must if you want to stay beyond a day or two. We would definitely recommend Phoenix Rv Park and we will stay here again if in the area. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.
