If you keyword "Oregon RV park" and "pot" more than 10 articles will pop on this being (the first?) pot-friendly RV park. If I'd have seen this, I would have looked elsewhere. But the RV parks in Southern Oregon have been full up. In this particular RV park, a local pot cultivator bought up much of the occupancy for his field workers. So, other than one nice 5th-wheel, all the RVs have long since expired shelf-lives, held together by duct tape and prayer, with a lot of clutter that would do an Appalachian hillbilly proud. Clothing piles, tire rims, random kids bikes and other litter on the camp site. Some RV sites are a crowded mash of RVs and smaller tents around it. The trash can left out in front of one of the cabins had 20-30 flies circling, overflowing with pizza boxes, boxes of beer cans and other detritus on the ground. When I got to my site, a very old pedestal hinted at what lay beneath. In 18 months on the road its the only time I had to take a broom to the thickly encrusted cobwebs inside before plugging in. If it werent for the very long trip to get here on tight turning roads and a long detour, I'd have left. I came because of their wkly rate (187.) and low day rate which was quoted at 24.50, but the new manager apologized that it was 35 nightly for a full hook up, 30.54 for a partial (water/elect). The rate quoted on the phone was for tents . This is also a family friendly park and there were lots of small kids playing. Across the main road--yards really--is the lake which is stocked for Bass fishing, but kids and families were happily playing in the water. If you r looking for a "secluded" small RV park that you can smoke pot in, then you may like this. But if not, I'd steer clear. I was too uncomfortable leaving my modest rig in a place with such evident poverty to go exploring the area. The CG has a dump, but they need your plate number. Apparently, the area has a problem with meth cookers dumping toxic chemical waste at RV places so they monitor this activity. We camped at Lake Selmac Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is construction of a new bridge and road outside the park, hence the detour. But you can walk along the shore which is nice. I spotted a doe and two fawns drinking at the lake.

Arrived on a Saturday, paid for two nights, but left the next morning. All roads are dirt--dusty dirt--making an outdoor activity around the trailer impossible. A fire ring is available at each site, but with the constant traffic (our site was an intersection of three roads), having an evening fire was out of the question. Too many barking dogs and people walking through our site. Restrooms were absolutely disgusting--mold up 1/3 of plastic shower curtain, mud piling up in corners, and the black shower mat gave off an awful smell and sound when stepped on. We camped at Lake Selmac Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Try to get into the county park next door or Valley of the Rogue State Park just south of Grants Pass.

Pretty spot and all spots are shady. There is a great mini golf course right across the street from lake, just yards away. Bathrooms and showers very clean and nice. Store well equipped with food, ice, bait, etc. Store closes at 6 pm weekdays later on weekends. Great small lake for kayaking, fishing, swimming, very warm in early July. We we are from Northern CA use to 110 degrees. Close to the small town of Selma. Close to Oregon caves. Easy access for any level driver with any level RV. Gorgeous location. State Park around all of the lake with trails, playgrounds, horse camps, and other camp sites. Picked this spot out with a pin stuck in the map, and we will come back here over and over. Loved all of it. We camped at Lake Selmac Resort in a Tent Trailer.
