25 Parks near South Beach, Oregon
Aug 2016 - $1.00
Overall an enjoyable park to stay in with pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, horse shoes, etc. Great location and nice concrete pads with cable, but most are tightly packed together and the road is tight to maneuver into spots.
The park itself is split into 2 divided by SE 123rd Street. You check in on the South Side where they give you a map with all the sites including length and satellite access. The South side of the Park is a long one-way road with camping spots on either side dumping out onto 123rd a bit farther East. The South Side of the Park has a dog run, Frisbee golf, family lounge, pool, hot tub (small), horse shoes, and beach access.
You can cross the street where the one-way ends, to enter the North side where there are several more spots and an adult lounge with shuffleboard and tv. - Bay Area Early retirees

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Pictures taken at Whalers Rest, Newport Oregon, a Thousand Trails RV Park. This is RAW sewage on the ground. You can see the site next to you. Has a septic line right by your front door. NO way to sit out in the extra small postage stamp of grass with the smell of septic. We complained 2 days straight, on the 3rd day I went to the office to see the manager. Upon my open complaint of "crap" in the yard, we were asked to leave for cursing at the staff. We are reporting to Health Department. We were leaving the next morning, but with this event demanded a full refund which they gave us.
There is NO WiFi at this park unless you want to go sit in their club house computer room. The cable TV that hardly worked was $3.00 a day extra. No cell phone service. The pool had crabs, my husband took out two crab shells, legs and claws. The walk around the indoor pool was narrow and slippery, dangerous for young children. The hot tub seats 4 people & had an odor. Playground was in poor condition. Many unkept trailers, Looks like they've been parked for years. - Magicalwoman
Jul 2016 - $41.00
The people checking you in and out were very friendly and helpful. The park was large and near the beach, which was beautiful. There were a lot of trees, a nice playground and clean bathrooms/showers. The pool and hot tub were clean and fun for the kids. - LouiesMom
Aug 2016 - $25.00
The setting of this park is great, with plenty of well kept walking and biking paths to the ocean, the jetty, and even to the Rogue Brewery. The sites are roomy, but in late August all was dry and dusty, and there isn't much in the way of planting between the sites so there is no privacy. The public areas were clean and fairly quiet and relaxed, even with hundreds of campsites that were all full. Plenty of camp hosts to help if needed. - sail2blue
Jul 2016 - $29.00
Stayed for 3 nights over 4th of July weekend, with several friends in nearby RV sites. Great park with lots of trails, and close to the beach. Also a short drive into Newport.
We were able to watch the fireworks going on at the Newport Bayfront from a sand dune on the beach. - NotSoPro
Mar 2016 - $29.00
Open space with few trees and decent spacing between sites. Front section we were in the sites were mostly level. As with state parks, the roads and sites tend to be narrow, but our site was long enough for our 34' rig and space to park the tow. During the busy months advance reservations absolutely needed for sites that fit your rig and patience getting in and out. The front section only has a single dump station.
Great location to base from for access up and down the coast with tons to do and see. Would stay here again. - RPWAINC
Sep 2012 - $33.00
If you like crabbing and/or fishing, this is the place to go. Newport is fairly close. Very run down, gravel road in park. Staff helpful. Fire rings available in sites. Cell reception/WiFi excellent. - tudugger
Jun 2010 - $35.00
Rustic describes the park if you are site 1-12; very poor if you are in the other sites. They are more like a storage lot. Our site had 50-amp FHU but some have 30-amp in this area. We faced the river 20' away. Fire ring, cable at site. Road is approx 50' behind the rig. Almost no traffic on the road that follows the river bank 4 miles from town. Office and other guests extremely friendly. Nightly rate over priced for the facility and distance to town. Sites are rather close. Would return if in the area. If you have a boat and want to fish they are equipped for your visit. - Workamper04
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Stay here every time we are in Newport.Office staff very helpful. Host is great. Utilities worked fine. Sites are adequate for big rigs. Verizon OK. Dog friendly. Plenty of restaurants in Newport waterfront. Rouge Brewery and Aquarium within walking distance. Laundromat on premises. Will return. - silverado
Aug 2016 - $33.00
We stayed for a week in the Annex - the last site available!. There was plenty of room for our 40 foot motorhome and F150 truck. The park was ok, nothing too special, but the location was terrific. The Rogue Brewery and restaurant (you must eat there) are just across the street. Everything you want to visit in Newport is very close. - boomerang
Aug 2016 - $39.00
This was our second stay. We had a pull thru was was long enough for our MH and Toad. A bit tight with the neighbors. Satellite was good as was AT&T.
WI-FI on the other hand was terrible. In this day of technology I want good WI-FI. When I could connect it was useless. It felt like 100 people trying to park in a single parking spot. No excuse for the terrible service.
The park host is outstanding! Also the office staff was very nice and helpful. The weather is outstanding. - pismo
Jul 2016 - $40.00
Smaller Mom and Pop type park. Sites are well spaced. Some are at upper level of campground. Room for larger rigs. Nice, private path to cross the 101 Highway and down to the beach. Many sites have a view of the ocean. Some traffic noise, but not bad. - db8s
Jul 2016 - $47.00
All hookups were in good condition. The very best view of the ocean that we have had. Hwy 101 right there and is a little noisy but didn't bother us much. - Donny Mackelprang
Jun 2016 - $46.00
We stayed for 5 days. Interior roads are a bit narrow and wind around. This was no problem for us, but might be snug for a large MH. The area is beautiful. - phann
Jul 2016 - $37.00
Nice clean modern campground. Level lots. Close to the Aquarium.
Internet came and went. Cable tv was fine. We were happy with our stay and would stay here again. Bike paths were nearby. - Sir_Charles395
Sep 2013 - $36.00
Spaces are very close together and unlevel. No view of water but close to the marina in Newport. Won't be staying here again. - ckharvey
Aug 2013 - $30.00
Nice campground. It is a combination of permanent and transient campers and all units are fairly new and/or well maintained. The staff is super friendly and very efficient. Baths and showers aren't lavish, but they are maintained and clean. - cactuslady
Jul 2016 - $55.00
We stayed here 3 nights. This is a nice RV park that has a trail down to the river. We watched the sea lions and some loons in the water. Laundry facilities and showers were nice. Each shower area was actually its own little room with toilet, sink & shower. The doors need some mechanism to show when occupied, but otherwise very nice & clean. Would definitely stay again. - jmholton
Jul 2016 - $50.00
We stayed for 5 days. Well maintained and staffed campground. Store was well supplied. Great views of Alsea Bay, Bridge, and Waldport from southern sites. Hedges separate sites from one another and give moderate privacy. Had to disconnect truck from trailer and park sideways at front of site - no problem since we planned to sightsee anyway. Would stay here again. - phann
Jun 2016 - $50.00
Spaces were all a bit too tight and moving around with a motorhome was challenging, but not impossible. The staff was super friendly and the store had a reasonable and neat supply of possible necessities. There were nice hedges to block out the neighbors; a little too tight for comfort. Main objection for big rigs is that the sewer pipes are too high and when the rig lowers, there is a reverse drainage to the motorhome, making hooking up and emptying not pleasant. There are 6 sites facing the river that are to die for, so ask for them. - DustyBob
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Good campground, water view. Clean and electric, water pressure and cable all worked great. - snrstang

Crestview Golf course Close, Pacific Sourdough Bakery and Rays Market Close. Dog Friendly.Very Clean Laundromat. Mosquitoes in Dog Walk area morning and evening. - silverado
Jul 2016 - $15.00
Positives: Concrete pad, totally level, new power posts with excellent connections. Power strong and constant, good water and water pressure. Small community yard with games on the lawn. Walking distance to grocery, hardware store and downtown area. WiFi and cable were both good. Power cost is 9 cents per kWh. Meter was read at time of parking and accurately reported at time of departure. No additional costs added to usage. Waterfront space 62 with excellent view of bay, tide changes, sea otters, harbor seals and multiple birds.
Con: After 4 years of fulltime RVing, we encountered a mouse problem here. The hardware store said it is common along the waterfront. Traps caught the first and droppings a few days later revealed a second visitor. Relocated to different park and after several nights of traps, we think the "visitors" were coming in/out from the large pampas grass planted between every space along the waterfront. The office personnel were nice, denied any mouse problems; however, other resident RVers have had the same experience. Truly this is not the fault of the park, however we will not return.
If you are not petrified of mice, this is a great park and wonderful location for multiple beaches and state parks. - Eureka12

Aug 2016 - $100.00
This is a beautiful motor coach resort on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. It is a very clean, well-manicured facility. The sites are spacious, with most either surfaced with concrete or pavers. The roads are paved and easy to navigate. The resort has gated access to enhance security. The utilities worked well except for the Wi-Fi which was nonexistent. When we checked in we were told to go to the clubhouse or office if we needed Wi-Fi. This is not acceptable, especially at this very high priced motor coach resort. They need to spend some of their inflated rental fees on a good high speed Wi-Fi system and make it available throughout the park.
Beach access is down a moderately steep long path with steps along the way. It is fairly easy to get down but not at all easy to walk back up. It is not handicapped accessible.
For those who are not familiar with the Oregon coast be warned, it is not a warm area. We were surprised to find that daytime temps in the summer average around 60 - 65 degrees with strong winds blowing most of the day. It is also very foggy many days. Don't expect to be able to sit out on the beach in your swim suit and relax. You need at least a light jacket almost every day throughout the summer. - Fire344
Jul 2016 - $60.00
Very nice RV resort located on the ocean side of highway 101 near Newport and other central Oregon coast attractions. On-line reservation system worked well and friendly and efficient check in with escort to site. All sites are back-in or pull-in, no pull-through sites. Sites are concrete, open, spacious, and separated by grass or landscaping. Amenities include two pools, laundry rooms, a meeting room, modern bathrooms and showers. There are hiking trails and a path to the large, nearly deserted ocean beach. The whole park is well maintained. - JoyceM
Jul 2016 - $100.00

Sep 2014 - $29.00
