We stayed at this park because we needed 50 amp service to power air conditioning during a heat spell. The owners put us in a spot which was probably an overflow site as our front door was literally 4 feet from our neighbor's sewer connection. Most of the other sites were larger and seemed to be occupied by longer term residents. Our site was partially shaded, fairly level and utilities worked well. We had some Verizon service. Internet was provided and worked well. Cable had limited channels. There was a dirt/gravel road through the park which is open for public use of ATVS and worked as a dog walking path. The owners were friendly and helpful but must have had trouble with guests as they have extra fees added to use bathroom if you are self contained. In addition they charge an extra daily fee for 50 amp service. Normally this is $2/day but we were charged $5/day probably due to excessive heat. In fairness the air conditioning ran continuously. Their position is they wish to hold their base rate lower and charge supplemental fees for larger units their increased electric usage. We would not stay here again as there is little to do in the area. There is a NFS campground is 10 miles east and is on Phillips Lake and has numerous walking trails. It also has water and electricity. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful experience at Sumpter Pines. Owners were very friendly and helpful. I unfortunately had a mechanical issue on my truck, owner was quite helpful and bent over backwards to help us get on our way. Genuine, caring folks - quite refreshing these days. Sumpter is a great place to visit. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We spent 4 days int the park. The owners go out of their way to help you. The spaces are fairly large land we had no trouble with our 40' 5th wheel. This park will definitely be on our list when in the area. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We pull a 43' fifthwheel. A bit pricey for what you get.Be sure to follow websites Latitude and Longitude directions. Keep an eye out for their RV park sign on road. Nan, in front office, is very nice. Park is heavily treed. Lanes are all gravel. Sites are gravel, level and close to each other. Utilities-50AMP full hook up worked well. No dog park. You can buy propane in the park. We are only rig in the park so WIFI is good. AT&T Cell service is good. There is no pool and no kiddie play area. They've had a lot of rain this Spring so we did have mosquitoes but not bad. Sumpter is an old gold mining town that is barely hanging on these days. So this RV park is a good place for a one night stay. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed at the park 2 nights. Full hookups in good condition. Wireless access but video streaming is not allowed. Pets on leash only. Extra charges for restroom/shower access if your party is larger than 4. Campsites are shaded and pretty easy to access when parking. The is easily the nicest RV park in the area. I recommend a visit if you are in the area. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of old roads to explore with an ATV. ATV's are welcome in the park but only to get to and from the trails, not to annoy other park guests.

The camping sites are extremely close and hard to get in to. The camp site next to us had their sewer dump right next to our picnic table. Very unfriendly atmosphere. They also charge extra for the use of their bathrooms. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here as a 2-night stopover between Idaho and the Columbia River Gorge. This is primarily an ATV-oriented park, and although we are not ATVer's it was very pleasant when we visited. Located in a heavily forested area, the sites are scattered as the terrain allows. The pull thrus are very close together while the back-ins are much more spacious. The management is trying out something new to control the dust - watering the roads in the predawn hours. It seems to be working. Sites are mix of light gravel and packed dirt. Very quiet at night, however, during work hours you can hear the distant gravel yard operation. It's NOT obnoxious, just don't be surprised. Good-to-excellent WiFi @ 5mps, reasonable number of cable channels. Overall, solid value for the price. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sumpter has a bar or two, a tourist hotel, a nice diner, and was practically empty when we were there during the week. CAUTION: Get fuel before you leave Baker City. It's expensive there. A visit to the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center - 40 miles away - was worth the trip for us history geeks.

This is a wonderful small park! Roads and sites are dirt. Each site has a picnic table. We had site 14 and it was nice and private. Despite all the pine trees we were even able to find a slot to use our satellite dish. The park was only half full during our 4 night stay and was very quiet both day and night. It can get very busy here with ATVers though. The parks Wi-Fi was slow but we had a full 4G Verizon signal so we used our own Internet service. Owners are very friendly. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We love this park! We've been coming here for four years. It is clean, well-managed, and provides us with all the amenities we could ask for. Our space was large enough for all our ATV's, and there was easy access to hundreds of miles of riding. In fact, once we get to the park, we ride our ATV's everywhere. Camp personnel are friendly and helpful. Security is great, too. We can leave our ATV's and camping equipment and know that they will be safe and secure. This park is like a home away from home, great family atmosphere. We highly recommend it! We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

First, this is a very nice small park. You feel like you are camping, but you have good Wi-Fi and cable TV. The spaces are gravel and there is no grass but there are picnic tables and just a quiet feel. It was not crowded when we are there and managed to feel like a RV park, but camping as well. That said, we were a bit creeped out by the many security cameras around the property, even in the laundry room. Not sure how many there were, but way too many to count. The owner has a screen in the office to keep tabs. Also, if you are not into having many political conversations of the right wing persuasion, this may not be the place for you. We would return, but avoid all political discussions. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and solitude. The park is very clean and the owners very friendly, we talked a few hours away. Close to Baker City where the Oregon Train Interpretive Center is a must see. This park is in the Blue Mountains which are very beautiful. The Sumpter Valley Narrow Gauge RR is located here (not running until Memorial Day), We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Sumpter Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
