Very nice, busy park, on the ocean, but not a view. Lots of rocks to cross to get to the beach. Sites are okay, though our door was only 6 feet from the walkway to the restrooms, and no barrier. Our dogs thought every person walking by was invading us. They need to indicate these walkways on the reservation site. I would not have chosen this one knowingly. Also only recycling was things that carry Oregon deposit, kind of strange we thought. We did have a good time, lots of places to hike, walk dogs, etc. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were on Site D02 and then had to move to C47. DO2 loop sites are close together but have privacy because of the landscaping. Asphalt where you park which is very narrow and then surrounded by grass. C47 loop is all shaded because of tree cover, so no grass, it's dirt, and when it rains, wet dirt. Site was less private because of less of ground bushes Park is very woody, nice. No air TV. Close walk to beautiful ocean. Bathrooms and showers are okay. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Truck Camper.

Seems like you are driving and driving after leaving town, but it is marked and you'll get there! Beach is close. Town is okay, but a visit to Tillimook Cheese is a must! Cheese and Ice Cream.

We have a 40 ft. 5th wheel and although we fit in our site, I wouldn't say this campground is very suitable for big rigs. It's difficult to drive through the loops with a larger RV and most of the people camping there are in tents and small RVs. It felt a little awkward being the only big rig surrounded by tents because people kept walking by our site and commenting about how large our RV is. It happens to be our home since we are fulltimers, but we couldn't really explain that to everyone that walked by wondering why we have something so big for camping. We were in site C21 which is full hookup, but the dish washing station is right in the site which meant all the tenters had to come into our site to wash their dishes. This was a little awkward for them and us, but I tried to make the best of it and chat with any of them that were willing to talk to me. Other than feeling like quite the spectacle at this campground with everyone staring at us, the park is very nice. It's a short walk to a beautiful beach with gorgeous sunsets. We also visited nearby Cape Meares which was very beautiful and worth a visit. Verizon worked okay with a booster, but AT&T worked better. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Site 51, no hookup $21. 38 full hookups, 170 tent sites, yurts, hiker/biker camp, hot showers, dump station This campground is located on the Three Capes Scenic Route west of Tillamook. It is next to the ocean but still in a coastal forest of Sitka Spruce on a sand spit between Netarts Bay and the Pacific. It is a great place to view wildlife and watch for whales off the coast. Great hiking trails from the campground and in the rest of the park. The campground has four sections. Sites in A are the closest to the beach with no hookups. None of the sites have a view of the beach and there are only three short trails to get out there. B sites are behind the A sites, with no hookups. If we stayed here again we would choose the C or D loops. The sites are set back and seem to be larger, with some having hookups. The beach is beautiful but at high tide there is hardly any beach- it comes right up to the rocks. We were there during a storm with winds up to 50 mph and in the A loop. Our 25 ft RV was rocking and rolling so if we came again we would select the C loop - better protection. We also have a 28 lb Labradoodle and were warned to keep him on leash at all times because the bold Bald Eagles here have taken pets up to about 30 lbs. Driving north of the park is the Oceanside Beach Recreational Area and the Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint, where there are short walks to the lighthouse and to their famous Octopus Tree. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The park is next to the ocean, but no sites have an actual ocean view. Most of the hookup sites in the C loop are in tall trees. The spacing is adequate. You will see other sites through the trees. Most of the hookup sites in the D loop are very close to each other. The A and B loops (almost all dry) are closest to the ocean. The A and B sites south of the shower building are open and grassy with a few shrubs. North of the shower building there are taller trees. If you like privacy these dry sites have thick shrubs around them and are open above: C4, C6, C8, D38, D40, D55. Beach access is over a small dune. Then you have to walk over some rocks. The beach seems narrow, and at high tide the water covers all the sand in some places. Showers, which we didn't use, are private with a shower area and drying area with a bench. We'll visit here again. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The service road by site A52 makes for a nice stroll. It's a bit meadow like with views of the bay and one access point to climb a dune and see the ocean. The north trail has views of the ocean through trees. Consider it moderate due to incline and switchbacks. After 20 or 25 minutes you reach an extreme difficult point where you would have to climb up a steep rock incline to continue.

Stayed in spot C51 with a 32ft fifth wheel total length on trailer is 37 ft though. Kinda tight turn to back into the spot and the road around the c loop is a little narrow but got around it fine. Rained the whole time while there but it is a beautiful park and C loop is in the trees. No TV signal but didn't care. Hookup was 30 amp and was good water pressure was good. Sewer hookup way at the back of the site so back in far back as you can. Plenty of room in the back of the pad. Path to the bathroom right next to this site so very convenient which was nice. Showers were individual rooms that locked water temp got HOT. Short walk to the beach. About 11 miles from Tillamook. Price was low for us due to being foster parents with foster pass. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Didn't do much except walk the dog because sprinkling and misting rain the whole time. DO NOT STAY IN SITE D2 OR D3. Small and cramped for my 36 ft. 5th. wheel. B loop is much better. Sand dune separating park from ocean. Typical state park, old and tight but still a nice park. Lots of trees and bushes. Not easy to get to coming from the south, easier from the north. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

All paved roadways in camping loops, paved campsite pads, mostly dirt areas surrounding parking spaces w/fire pits; camp hosts circulate wood sales from 5-8 PM to each site, beach accesses multiple depending on campsite loop, some open areas allow mobile satellite dish access, cell phone service limited. Compliments to both camp hosts and Ranger staff to make 5 day stay an enjoyable, memorable occasion. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

We actually paid zero because my husband is a disabled vet. Nice park but for mosquitos. We stayed inside. The sites are fairly close and some sites had to share fire pits. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Watch out for the potholes on the county road leading to the park. Park roads and site pads paved (good condition). There was a pretty beat up table on the site as well. There is a notice posted that budget cuts have forced some deferral of maintenance. Our site pad was not level, but I was able to fix that. All hookups worked fine. No Wi-Fi or TV. That hardly mattered as this place is for relaxing and walking the beach. For that it gets a 10. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Paved roads and sites. Good power. They have shut down the loops by the beach for the winter but the loops with power and sewer are still open. The rate reflects the winter rate. Verizion MiFi works well here. This CG is well located to check out the sites in the area. The showers were clean but it was just a push button shower and all I can say was that it was warm but the ambient tempature bathroom did not encourage you to hang out in the shower too long. The trash is located by the front gate so it's a bit of a walk to the reycyling center. I'd stay here again. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Rate include reservation fee. Visited park in a very extreme storm with 50 mph gales. The sites do hold water and there can be blowing sand, but good wind break. Road to entry (Whiskey Road?) is somewhat difficult to drive, but may have been the weather. Park is somewhat isolated. No Direct TV signal and weak AT&T cell/air card. Am sure the beach is nice, but was confined to RV due to weather for three days! We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for one night after a horrible stay in another park. Stayed in D-loop with awesome access to the beach. Site was a bit tight to get into due to brush, but at the same time, the brush provided privacy. Rangers were helpful. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The county road leading to the park has definitely deteriorated since our last visit here two years ago. The state park roads appear to have been repaved for some of the loops. Our site in D loop was a paved back-in and needed some boards for levelling. All utilities worked fine. No cable or local TV, but satellite TV from our site (D9) worked fine. Some maintenance around the park has not been done due to government cuts. Due to the fantastic beach and superlative natural areas this is one park we will always want to return. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great Oregon State campground with full hook-ups. During the winter one of the loops is reservable and the other is first-come. One of the loops is closed because it floods. The roads are a little tight but not bad. There are only a few sites with satellite access, but our Verizon phone and air card worked well here. The beach and trails are wonderful for walking and there are many activities in the area. We would definitely return to this park. We camped at Cape Lookout State Park in a Motorhome.
