As others have said, this is a nice park. Staff is very nice and helpful. Park is clean and sites are level, hookups are good. However, this campground has a cattle auction barn right behind it that goes full bore on Wednesdays. This involves smell and noise but also involves a guy with a Barney Fife sounding authoritairan voice calling out over a loud speaker what pens to put each cow in that has sold. He repeats the numbers twice, sometimes 3 times. Blasts you out of your camper with windows closed and air conditioner on. Also, a train track runs between the campground and cattle auction, but was only running during the day. Last, the road noise is really bad. 11th street must be a main drag as lots of traffic, lots of diesel pickups with loud exhaust and lots of big trucks including semi trucks. As there is a sharp curve there, they jake brake and floor it. I might stay here again but NEVER on a Wednesday and I would insist on being as far away from the road as possible. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Small & clean RV park near the Oregon/Idaho border in the town of Vale along the Oregon Trail. The ladies at the office are extremely nice and helpful, pull-through sites are level and clean with grass and trees planted in between. There's a dump station by the park exit. This was a quick stopover for us on our way to Bend, and I'd stay here again if we were passing through.

There are train tracks running at the backside of the park. We only heard one train in the morning around 8:00. And there's a cattle auction yard nearby that, as some of the other reviewers mentioned, happens on Wednesdays. But it didn't bother us during our stay and didn't start early. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

As others have said - this is a sweet place to stay. Vale is a cute little town and this small park is just as cute. You do have to turn into the office entrance to check-in then go back out on the street and turn left into the rows accessing the sites. But it is no big deal - I am 42' pulling a full size pick-up and there was plenty of room in front of the office, adequate room in the parking rows. I don't have an extension for electric (shame on me) and was unable to leave the truck hooked up as the electric is waaayyyyy to the back of the pull-through sites. Others were more prepared than I and stayed hooked. People are super, super nice and friendly and helpful. The place is clean with a nice little dog area for off-leash. Town is easy walking distance with several (reportedly) good restaurants. Did not use the amenities so cannot report on any of that. I would not only stay again but I would come for a few days just to hang out. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

The owner's of this park have put in much effort to make this a nice, neat and comfortable park. The restroom/showers were immaculate. The grounds are well maintained. The sites are long and level, there is grass between most sites, and there are many, many elm trees providing shade to all sites. There is an enclosed dog run with really cute landscaping, chairs to sit, fire hydrant for the boys and toys for the dogs. This is an older park and the layout is a little convoluted. You drive into the park off Railroad Avenue and stop at the office. You then must make a 180 degree turn, go back out onto Railroad Avenue and go down about 100' to the entrance to the sites. We're 45' long and towing and elected to disconnect to make these turns, although it may have been possible without disconnecting. Our site was very long and would have accommodated the RV and towed, but we would have had to pull so far forward that we would have needed electrical and water extension cord/hose to reach the utilities that are located at the very back of the site. Since we had disconnected we parked the RV at the rear of the site and were able to reach the utilities without dragging out the extensions. The site area in front of the coach was more than adequate to park the Jeep. There was additional parking next to the dog run. It rained while we were there and the sites all had good drainage, thus no puddles. The owner's of the park are extremely pleasant and helpful in pointing out restaurants and other things in Vale. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a great place for overnight as well as a stay in the area. Large site, grass patio with picnic table, full hook-ups. Quiet oasis in town. Trees for shade. We would stay here again. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a convenient stop along highway 20, not a destination. Staff is friendly and helpful. They helped us negotiate the very tight turn into our spot - I suspect mostly because they don't want you taking out the power stand and faucet located at end of site. Our 45 ft motorhome was a tight maneuver due to the proximity of my mirror to an adjacent tree. Not bad, you just had to take some time. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town has several good restaurants and a surprisingly good antique store.

Take the drive to Owyhee State Park. It's a 40 mile drive through an incredible canyon along the river, and is not usually mentioned as something to do in Oregon. Lot's of serious looking fly fishermen in the river and at the base of the dam. Someone must be catching something.

Smaller park but perfect place to stay while en-route to Bend. Very clean park with pull-through to accommodate motor home pulling a tow without having to disconnect. Staff was amazing here. Stayed open late just to help a rush of arriving guests. Great small town feel. Will definitely stay here again. Wished I could stay longer to enjoy the Oregon Trail self guided tour mentioned on the welcome sheet. Water pressure very good too! We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a great park. Tucked away off the highway, it is quite. Nice, wide, long pull-throughs. Plenty long for my 40 footer plus tow. Sites are level. Great staff help you into your site.
As noted in a previous review, GPS instructions can be a bit confusing. Easiest way is to take Glenn St. North/12th Street North turn off highway 20. It is the same street, just has a couple of names.

Looking at Google Maps, you will notice the campground is adjacent to rail-road tracks. We did not hear a single train during our stay.
Utilities were located at the back on my site, requiring us to unhook our tow and park it at the front of the motor home. Not a big issue because we needed to restock the pantry, and were going to unhook anyway. Great market 3 blocks from store. Fresh meat and veggies.
We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is quiet, with occasional potato hauling traffic on the adjacent street. The sites are level with full hookups. The customer service is great as is the owners who help you. The place is clean and there are trees at each sites for shade. Dogs are permitted and there is a special gated area for them. Restroom and laundry rooms are very clean. It is a great place to stay for a bike riding vacation. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Very nice smaller park. A bit of a stroll from the freeway(15 miles) but probably worth the trip if you want peace and quiet. First park in 6 days that we did not have to level the trailer due to spaces being level. Long enough also that we did not have to unhook our 35ft trailer from our Excursion. Two fuel stations in town with diesel. Nice walking town with lots to see and enjoy. Wi-fi very good and cable TV with 13 stations. Would have made arrangements to stay here longer if we had known park was this pleasant. Will stay here again if in the area. Follow road signs to get here. GPS will lead you astray. Small (26 spaces), older park, well treed, all pull-thrus. Not fancy, but very reasonable. Very nice lawn/tent area. Small fenced pet area with rock base. Dated but clean bathroom/shower. Easy walk to town, famous for its murals so take time to visit. Several nearby restaurants, also a local market where clerks know everyone's name. When you walk down street and truck goes by, driver waves at you. $30 nite, great for overnight travelers and mural walkers. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park for one night while traveling thru. We found parking in front of the office confusing. Someone had parked a van in front of the board that says where to park....one needs to pull in and to the left to make a circle out of that area to go back on the road to the site rows. Entering the site rows was easy, hooking up easy and site was flat. Park does have a little road noise during the day but was VERY quiet at night. Park is a delightful 1 1/2 block walk to the grocery store. Though there were trees in the park, none of them were of concern with the rig. They were trimmed back and up. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, tree-shaded park convenient to Highway 20 and Vale. Interior roads and sites are gravel with long, level pull-thrus. Water and electric are at the back of the site and may be a problem. Limited Cable TV and little chance of viewing TV satellites through the trees. Very good WiFi, and Verizon cell/4G were strong. Helpful and friendly lady in the office. Quiet and dark at night. A nice stay, we'll visit again. We camped at Vale Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.
