This is a VERY popular park. There are both reservable and first-come-first-served sites but every single reservable site was reserved for at least a week when we were there in early June. Make your reservations well in advance if you want to camp here or get there early in the day to snag a non-reservable. The camp is on a hill that slopes down from Rt 101 to a cliff overlooking the ocean. Many of the sites have extreme slants to them either front to back, side to side, or both and most are not what I would consider big rig friendly. If you need to be level for your slides to operate properly you better be prepared with an assortment of blocks and jacks. No dump and no showers although there are flush toilets in bright clean buildings and big trash bins throughout the park which I appreciate. The outside sites on the loop closest to 101 get lots of road noise. Also, except for the "ocean front" section, the sites are heavily wooded so if you rely on solar you could be in trouble. As for the ocean front sites, don't count on getting a full ocean view from your rig unless you sit up high like we do in our truck camper or in a motorhome. The edge along the cliff has thick vegetation that cuts down on the view in most spots. Also, you cannot access the beach from your site. There are three stairways though that do provide good access to the sand. Little to no data service and only spotty cellphone service was available on either Verizon or T-Mobile. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Truck Camper.

Water/electric only sites and no dump station. It was an excellent location right on the beach. The utilities worked fine, but water pressure was very low. Satellite coverage but no Verizon or AT&T signal. It was great to hear the roar of the ocean and be so close to the beach. The park is nice, but it really isn't big rig friendly. Sites are very short. We only fit into our site because we could back up all the way to the curb stop, and then we barely had room for our truck. Was really surprised they did not have a dump station. We were parked next to a restroom and the door would slam every time someone opened it. The location can't be beat, but the campground needs some improvements. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fantastic site overlooking the ocean. Host was great helping us get into our site as person next to us needed to unhook their tow. We had a parallel site, so a little tight, and slide right up to the road. You must be totally in the lines. However, once in and set up, it was great. Very popular, so make reservations well ahead. Would give it a 10 if the parallel sites had hookups. But so nice to see and hear the ocean, sunsets, the beach, etc. etc. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tillicum is located beach side, which is excellent & convenient. Several of the standard RV sites have the fire pit & picnic table on the driver's side of the RV which is a little disappointing. Dry sites have great ocean views (and the fire pit/table are on the passenger side to boot). Parking at these sites are parallel. There are a few pull through sites as well. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Reserved site 47 which they said would fit my trailer, no way. Moved to site 24 without any issues. Could not put awning all the way out due to tree. Beautiful campground with ocean view and easy beach access. They have electric and water sites for $33, $20 with access discount. They also have dry sites for less. The access road is tight in places so watch your top corners and be sure to pick a spot that is big enough and you can get into. We would return. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Don't know how I missed this place last time I was camping on the Oregon Coast, but it is beautiful here. This is a situation of location, location, location! Nearly all the state and federal campgrounds along the coast are several hundred feet back from the beach or on the opposite side of the road, but this one has many sites literally a few feet from the beach. The sites with the best locations are the non-electric RV and tent sites, but I have one of the 13 electrical & water sites directly across from these parallel-parked, beach-side sites, and I can see a bit of ocean as well as hear the sounds of the surf all day and night. All sites are asphalt and reasonably wide. You do need to check length, however, as many are quite short. My 32' motorhome fit nicely into a site rated for a 36' motorhome, but I do not tow. Beach is deep and flat, and very walkable, although it has been pretty chilly here. Verizon cell signal is very weak, but I was able to get adequate, though slow, data through my jetpack. I even got satellite, although I suspect this is about the only site where I could do that because most are under trees. Can't beat the senior federal price, however, so I will definitely be back here next summer. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stop by the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area visitor center a few miles south for information on things to do and see in the area. Also, the nearby town of Yachats is worth a half-day of wandering around. You can park an RV along one of the side streets. And bring lots of groceries because it is a long way to a large grocery store.

60 sites. Some with electric and water but not the ones with the beach views. Site 46 $12 with Golden Age Pass and no hookups. This is a very popular National Forest Campground and reservations are advised. We came in on a Tuesday and there were still a number of sites available. There are sites set aside for first come, first serve with beach views. The campground is set on top of the cliffs with a short walk down to a beautiful beach. Every site can hear the ocean rolling in and even some of the sites set back in the woods can see the ocean in the distance. At some of the sites with ocean views, the parking is along the road with a walk in to the picnic table and fire pit. The parking is well marked with site numbers and you must fit in that space. There are three loops here and in the first two loops most of the inside sites have hookups. The sunsets here are stunning and whale watching is popular. The beach is a great spot for surfing, swimming, and playing in the sand. This is another pet friendly beach. We had a nice stay here and many of the campers stayed for the week. We would return if in the area again. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Tillicum because Beachside State Park was closed due to flooding. What a wonderful surprise! This is a National Forest Service campground steps away from the beach. Stayed in #11 which had a large area for our dog. #17 has an exceptional ocean view, but is dry. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lovely, wooded campground on the Central Oregon coast. Very busy in summer. Beautiful, clean white sand beach is great for kite flying, walking, yoga, naps, etc. Goes for a long way. Water is usually too cold for surfing w.o a wet suit. Concrete stairs provide easy access to beach from campground. Great ocean views from some sites. Towns nearby have good restaurants. Tents are ok here. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a pretty good U.S. Forest campground with campsites to fit most trailers or motorhomes. That said, if you want to be on the beach, you will need to parallel park your vehicle. That can make it a little difficult for trailers and fifth wheels as the campsites are next to each other, like parallel parking on a street. You are able to get a view of the ocean from some of the back in sites, too. These sites have a bit more privacy and offer room to put your slides out without worrying about someone running into one. The campground host and area manager are very helpful and have a list of vacant sites each day for those of us who don't make advance reservations. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

I couldn't switch the date of stay prior to August but we stayed in June of 2015. I booked 6 months in advance for #12 for the view. We were lucky that it would take our 30 ft fifth wheel with 8 foot slide. Others in front of us were right in the road. We didn't have anyone behind us most of the time (no view from that spot) so we could leave when we wanted. Others in front couldn't park their truck with the fifth wheels and if they wanted to get out when someone was in front they wouldn't be able to get the truck in. The park managers are sticklers for making sure you don't have your rig over the painted lines. They patrol constantly. The beach is nice but since it is just down Hwy 101 from Beachside we will continue to stay there instead of Tillicum. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean campground. Hardly populated in winter, but very busy in summer. Great ocean views from the ocean sites. Beach can be dangerous during high tide as waves sometimes completely overtake the sandy beach, need better signage. A few interior sites have hook ups, none of the ocean front sites do. They repainted the lines last season and for some reason made it harder to access a few of the interior sites if ocean ones are occupied. A clean park right on the beach, much better bet to our family then a commercial RV park. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

As we pulled into Tillicum Campground, we were struck by the beauty of our campsite right on the Pacific Ocean. This alone would have given the campground high ratings, but there is more. The campground is well maintained with clean sites and fire pits, clean restrooms, and nice roads and facilities. The access to the ocean was worn at the base, but the beach remained accessible. The evening brought a beautiful sunset and wonderful sleep with the pounding surf in the background. I recommend making reservations early to assure an ocean view site. My only negative was the lack of a water spigot, we needed to use the sink to fill our water bottles and jug. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Tent.

Quite a place for the Forest Service. Too bad the rates have gone up to $25 for W&E; $20 for dry camps sites. The nearby state park may be a better deal since they have showers but this is a wonderful USFS campground, right on the ocean, with trees to hide in at many of the sites. The parallel parking sites are right on the bluff overlooking the ocean, but if you need slides, that's probably not going to work. There are a couple of fairly large rigs tucked away here but as the previous comments said, this is more of a small rig/ camper/ tenting campground. Access to beach is very close and easy so this must be a popular spot in the summer. Worth stopping if you can fit in. Non- summer is a good time too. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

I made reservations months in advance to assure I would get a campsite on the ocean. Well, our campsite was on the ocean, but we were disappointed to see how small it was and thus we were unable to stay in it and instead got a site off in the trees away from the ocean. It stated that it was a pull through, and that it was 38', but it was really only a parallel parking space, with no room for any overhang and our slide out would have been in the street. The way it was set up, our 28' fifth wheel would just barely fit and we wouldn't have been able to open the door. I only saw two sites that could accommodate anything over 25 feet or with a slide out. The website misrepresented the size of the sites. If you have a small rig, this is a spectacular park right on the ocean with a view unsurpassed by any other park I have been to. It's too bad bigger rigs can't enjoy it too. We camped at Tillicum Beach Campground in a Motorhome.
