First, the management (young husband & wife) are very pleasant and accomodating but, are the only staff. The office & store are only open Fri - Sun from 10am to 9pm. Any other time, you have to ring a bell for service. There is a nice play ground, pavilion and "Game Room" but, it's only open during store hours & closed the remainder of the week. A play on the old Roger Miller song....No pool, No phone, No Internet seems to sum up this facility. There is no internet service available anywhere in the park (the office even gets their service from HughsNet). Cell phone (Sprint) is in constant roaming & spotty. OTA TV gets MAYBE 4 channels from 2 stations & only if you have an upgraded antenna booster w/wingman. Satellite service is almost impossible to tune in due to the 100 - 150 foot tall trees in all areas of the campground (dish must be on the RV or on your site only, no running cables across roads or other sites). Our particular site & patio, was very uneven and with deep ruts from rain washout (they do NOT seem to care about regrading or filling in these washouts). There are several seasonal units on the grounds & although pleasant, they all seem to stay amongst themselves.

The facility is owned by a new regional power (electric) company and while we were there, a power company employee came around taking a survey on our stay. So, maybe, some changes/upgrades will be forthcoming soon.

We probably would not stay here again. We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Located along the Susquehanna River in the heart of Amish country. York & Lancaster are the closest cities with lots to do & see. Many Amish restaurants, Amish farm markets, Dinner theaters etc. all within a 30 minute drive. Boating & fishing is available right from the campground. There are several hiking trails of various difficulty levels accessible right from the campground or nearby.

Very nice and peaceful campground. The managers are very friendly and helpful. Most sites require a bit of leveling, so bring some blocks with you, but no big deal. Lots of shade trees, new playground, a lot of new upgrades. The camp store is very well stocked with just about everything you might have forgot to bring. I will return! We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice campground, with friendly people. We originally booked 4 camp sites but could not get them together. They called us back, after they had a cancellation, to get us 4 sites together, which was extremely nice. Checking in, the girl was very nice and helped me with some hiking questions I had and gave me a map of the trails, which you can access from the campground. They offer a few activities, and we attended the Bingo game. This is a nice place, with a few hilly areas. Not all the campsites are totally level, but we made do. The don't have sewer hookups, but have 2 dump stations, and also have the 'honey-wagon' service, but I'm not sure what days that's available, we didn't use that. No wifi, but that was ok with me as well. Sites are decent size, but you camper is very close to the one behind you, but it leaves for a big area for your 'hangout'. The Susquehanna is directly across the street with a public park, and Otter Creek is accessible from the campground as well. Decent amount of trees, which left our sites pretty shady for the most part, some sun during the day. Beware of tree sap dripping, might be a flowery popular tree. They also offer wood to purchase for campfires. We also visited a few wineries nearby, which were about 30 minutes away. We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a relatively primitive campground, is steep and surrounded by trees. Beautiful. A hike to Otter Creek is magical, with beautiful flowing water and dark woods. Kids can wade in the creek. The campground is well-run and the staff is very friendly. Electricity is reliable. No Wi-Fi is available. There is not much to do in the area except Indian Steps Museum, which is a diamond in the rough. It is worth spending several hours there. There is a nice ice cream shop about 5 miles away. The beef barbecue that they serve is of average quality. We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Campground was nice and quiet. Close to the river but not on the river. It was a very clean and VERY friendly place. They had catered barbeque which looked and smelled great but we didn't take part. The trails were nice but could use a little maintenance. We have a Class C and fit very easily in the site. It wasn't perfectly level but didn't take much to level out the rig. They said the staff would assist if I wanted help. It was a very good experience. We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Magical. This is the best word I can think of to describe this campground. Surrounded by water, the Susquehanna River in the front, Otter Creek on one side, Sawmill Creek on the other. The hiking is incredible, The Mason Dixon trail goes right through the campground. Otter Creek sports 3 small beautiful waterfalls, which you can see by hiking the nature trail. Urey Point (up the road with a nice parking area) offers an incredible view of the Susquehanna River and dam. There is a nice one mile hiking trail here for the person who doesn't want a long hike. The sites are huge and rustic. Exactly what we prefer. Trees and wildlife abound. A bear even visited the camp while we were there! Bird watching is at it's best, we enjoyed the bright red cardinals frolicking and playing amongst the majestic trees. The campers are friendly and happy. We made many lifetime friends in the 2 months we stayed here. The washers are large and the dryers rock! No damp clothes here! Bring your canoe, the river is as smooth as glass in the evenings. Pull up to an island and watch the deer, crane and many other species of birds of prey. Right down the street is an Amish farm for all your fresh veges, fruits, canned goods, baked goods and cheeses. This is the perfect destination to camp and check out the Susquehanna River cities (Wrightsville, where the covered bridge over the Susquehanna River was burned down during the Civil War) Gettysburg, Harrisburg, York, Hershey's Chocolate Factory and Lancaster County with all it's fabulous Amish towns and doings. PA-124 is a perfect Harley riding road! Curvy and smooth, no stop lights and lots of whoop-de-doos! As for the camp directors I can't thank them enough! They go out of their way and take the time to get to know you and make sure you are comfortable. I wish every campground we stayed at had such personable hosts! Love you guys! In 8 years of traveling with my husband for his work this is by far my favorite campground! Sure hope we get another job out this way, Pennsylvania is wonderful and so friendly! P.S. We are from the mountains of Montana, this camp rates right up there...which is hard to do given that we have the best in Montana. Kudos to the camp directors. We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the best places we have stayed anywhere. The facilities are not new but are in good condition. The park's location on the Susquehanna is great for a weekend on the water. It is only an hour from Baltimore, yet seems a world away. The directors are always around and know what families want in a campground--clean, quiet, with some things for the kids to do. We were especially pleased that the seasonal section, which we were camped next to, did not contain trashy units and unsavory people, as is common in many otherwise nice campgrounds. With the exception of freight trains on the far bank of the river, and the occasional motorcycle going down the road, this is a really peaceful place. The minor drawbacks: small playground and game room; our water and electric hookups were far from the RV. This may not be the case for the other sites, but some of the pull-through sites have this issue. Access roads are in need of paving, but they're OK. Signage on the access roads could be somewhat improved. Cell phone reception is not good due to the campground's location. We enthusiastically recommend this campground! We camped at Otter Creek Campground in a Motorhome.
