We decided to try this park because the nearby state parks and Corps of Engineers parks do not allow pets. Most of the folks staying in the park are working on local construction projects. Many others are seasonal. Only a few campers are vacationers staying a week or less. The negatives I read in other reviews are true. There is noise from the highway, a train, and from construction vehicles on the property. There is generally a run-down feeling due to the age of many units and restroom / shower. We were here Monday - Thursday, so weekend rowdiness was not an issue at all. But there was also much we liked. In fact, we ended up staying four extra nights. We stayed in the lower loop, which is used by the short-term visitors. Our site was right along the Susquehanna River. Our view were of mature trees and the river. It was very relaxing and peaceful. We used two of the owner's kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed an easy-going float along the river. We found the people here very friendly. I would definitely stay here again for these reasons. The scenery was really very nice and having easy access to the river for swimming, boating or fishing was a plus. Also, our dogs were welcome here. - Carolina Girl

After making reservations at this campground, I read some not so great reviews. But we kept an opened mind, willing to make the best of it. However, when we arrived we found the house at the main entrance is run down with broken windows, the entrance driveway is over some very rough train tracks, many of the sites down in the campground have junk and scrap all around, and the whole feeling of the place is just plain scary! We turned around and left immediately. (We did not stay at this park.) - sssunshine

I just stayed at this campground, and as the previous review stated, it was seedy. A broken down refrigerator sits in one site with a lot of junk around it. It is very run down. I wouldn't want to stay in a place like this alone. This is not a place for a large RV. - PattyRVer

This campground is under new ownership. We used Holiday Pines as a home base while attending a nearby event. So, from that point of view we had no problems. Park was clean and quiet. Owners were friendly. The sites are a little tight for larger units and not very level but, we managed without too much trouble. - Mardet
May 2013 - $41.00
I would highly recommend this campground. The owners are very nice, and they have events on weekends to keep you busy. It's a great family place. If you want to spend time in the country but not far from highway and leave your cares behind, this is definitely the place to be. - camper117

There is no cable TV nor can you get any channels with antenna, and I have a Jack antenna. If you like being in the woods this may work for you. I've paid a lot less for nicer campgrounds with more services available. I would plan to stay elsewhere if coming through this area again. On the plus side, the guy at the desk who I assumed was the owner, was friendly and helpful. - Rrloren

We chose this place as it would be close to the jobsite. We were told it was in good condition despite spring thaw and would have no trouble getting in an out. It was extremely muddy and required 4-wheel drive to negotiate. Also, you couldn't get to the RV without wading through mud. The job requires the boss be able to get in touch anytime. This was not possible even though the park personnel said AT&T would not work but that Verizon worked well. (We got a Verizon phone for this reason). Phone and computer access are required for the job as reports have to be submitted. The gentleman next door also could not use his phone or computer. There is virtually no lighting. The cable TV did not work. They knew that because the person before us also had problems with it. They did offer another site, but with the mud and no assurance that anything would be better, it seemed to be a lot of effort and muddy mess for little or no benefit. We were forced to move after 6 days so as not to jeopardize the job. We tried to work out a reasonable settlement with the owner for either the daily rate or 1/2 month to no avail. This disastrous park costs us $500.00 plus electricity for only 6 days. We felt that since the park did not live up to their end of the contract, there should be some refund. The owner was extremely rude and belligerent about the whole thing. We have stayed at many parks from rustic to elaborate and never had such poor conditions and service. - bw09
Jul 2008 - $40.00
I went to this campground because of good memories of camping there as a child. I wish I had gone to Little Pine State Park across the road. How much sense is it to charge $0.25 for a three minute shower? Especially since the showers lasted for only two minutes (this coming from more than one person). There are no temperature controls and sometimes the water is very hot, sometimes cold and rarely just right. There are also no changing areas with each shower stall so undressing and dressing takes place out in the common area with no privacy. The coin machines are also on the opposite wall from the showers so after putting a quarter in you have to cross the room to get into your shower. If the shower stops while you are halfway through with your shower you have to cross the room again and insert another quarter. After confronting the owners about paid showers, all they could say was "It has been that way for years". No explanations of conserving water or anything else. I require a breathing machine at night so we requested a tent site with electric and water service. Our so called tent site while big was all stone! The grass tent sites didn't have electric service. Some of these tent sites could only barely fit a two person tent and didn't have any fire rings or picnic tables. It seems they are concentrating on their cabins and yurts rather than their tent or RV sites. We stayed there for five nights no other tent or RV site was occupied except for the one next to ours which happened to be my parents! Only one or two of the cabins were filled during this time. For those of you with allergies to certain pool chemicals beware. They use Bromic acid in their pool. There aren't any signs stating this and my daughter got a rash from the pool chemicals. I would not recommend this campground to anyone and certainly will not go there again. - stnkds

This is the second campground where I have camped (new RV owner). I picked one of the best spots that was close to the dam and backed right up to the creek. Showers and bathrooms were nice and clean. I WILL come back here again. This was a very nice experience - leversole
Aug 2012 - $30.00
A very nice park to stay at. This was my first time back here in about 15 years. Pet sites are right next to the dam spillway, a big plus for us because it made checking up on the kids when they were fishing very easy. Nice large and level sites. Bathrooms were clean and showers were nice for a state park. No cell service down in the park, but if you go to the happy acres restaurant as you exit the campground you can get service with Verizon. - Sportsterjeep
Jun 2011 - $30.00
This state park is one of our favorites. Some sites back up to the Little Pine Creek where you can put in your kayak and float down to Waterville (if water levels are sufficient). Hiking trails are ALL very strenuous, so you have to be in excellent shape to take advantage of those. If you enjoy bicycling, it's a short 4 mile drive to the Pine Creek Rail Trail parking lot. There is a nice store and restaurant in Waterville. There is wi-fi within walking distance at the store/restaurant parking lot just before the entrance to the campground. - pamvanw

Jul 2016 - $24.00
This is a very nice state park, IF you have a smaller-sized rig. We stayed here for a couple of nights in a 40' fifth wheel. It was difficult getting our rig backed-in to the site. The roads are narrow (beautiful roads through the forest) and, of course hilly. There is a separate camping area for those with pets. We love this state park. Unfortunately, our rig is too long for us to utilize it again. Beware: cell-phone service is non-existent. This is a dead zone. Antenna tv service is not available. We were here for three nights while visiting relatives. It was nice to be off the grid for a bit. - oldbluejay
Jul 2015 - $24.00
We loved this place! Perfect for the outdoors adventurer. There isn't much around, but the sites are beautiful. This place has a feeling as if you are out west in a national park. We will be back.
Wooded and remote sites with lantern hangers and fire pits.
Special thanks to the friendly camp host who helped us park late in the evening. - 72streams
Sep 2012 - $29.00
This is a very nice state park campground set in a hemlock and white pine forest. Every site is at least partially shaded and most are fully shaded. Most sites are spacious and have reasonably level gravel pads. Tent sites have a tent pad with finer gravel base. The campground has one central shower house, which is relatively new and clean. The park has a small lake with a beach and swimming area and numerous picnic tables. There are hiking trails in the park and connections to other mid-state trail systems. There are many miles of packed gravel forest roads (no winter maintenance) to explore on bike or by vehicle. There are also quite a few other state parks within a 25-30 mile radius to explore. Owners of big rigs would do well to avoid sites 17 to 33, as there is a very tight left-hand turn to navigate when leaving that section of the campground. It can be done, but the bank on the left side shows numerous scars indicating that the bank won! Our only gripe was the vendor-supplied firewood ($7.00/stack) that was obviously cut from long-downed trees and was very punky. There are area residents with roadside signs for camp firewood, though. RB Winter is in a beautiful section of north-central Pennsylvania's mountains and there are some great overlooks from its 2000 ft. elevation. We will definitely camp here again so we can further explore the region. - JEH412

Jul 2016 - $27.00
Deciding on Haleeka was purely because of the very positive reviews here on RVParkReviews. Unfortunately, we had a very, very different experience. First, we have a very small motorhome (23-feet) and the entrance to the the park was quite small; our sides rubbed on plants on both sides as we entered. It is also directly on a 2-lane highway, making me a bit nervous to have to slow down enough to get straight down the narrow driveway. When we arrived an older couple said their son usually takes care of the park, but he was out of state. They showed us the site we were supposed to be in, but the person in the run-down trailer next to it had quite a bit of trash and it had cascaded over into the site. Instead, I was shown another site. In this one, the sewer pipe came out of the ground and extended for about 10 feet and ended in a pipe opening that would not take a thread and, because it was pointed along the ground rather that straight up to the sky, just placing our sewer tube into it would have caused sewage to leak on the ground. Then I discovered the water faucet was dry, and told him that the site was unacceptable. He then offered to put me into another site with only electrical and water and would tell the run-down trailer person to clean up his trash. All of these things caused me to just say, no thanks, we'll be moving along. While the park landscaping looked nice, all but 5 of the sites were occupied by other very trashy, run-down trailers that looked like they hadn't moved in many years, and I just didn't feel comfortable. Also, when I asked about the WiFi, they first told me they had no idea what that was, and then said their son took care of that sort of thing. Overall, this RV park was not for us, so we moved on and found another park in the area. - RobtL

Small park on a small creek north of Williamsport PA. Resident manager. Our 37 foot 5th wheel just did fit into largest available site. Very quiet, most RV sites are wooded, about 1/3 are located along the creek. About 2/3 of sites appeared to be seasonal campers with a few apparently permanent residents. Water is lightly sulfurated, use bottled water for drinking. We stayed about a week and found the facility clean and relaxing. No satellite friendly RV sites. - jwkinneyjr

Park office was closed. All ponds covered with green algae. Bathrooms were old and dingy and dark, but plenty of hot water. - PF Churchill
May 2016 - $65.00
This is a very quiet, clean campground, but when we camped there they packed us close to other campers, and we were out in the hot sun with no shade. It was a long walk up the hill to the nearest shower/bathroom facility, and you had to press the shower every 10 seconds to get water. Seems to be a better place to go for seasonal campers. - Diffycamper22
Oct 2015 - $38.00
A fairly quiet campground. We stayed in the group area. Water and electric worked well. No WIFI at sites, cable TV was iffy +/- 20 channels. Sites were close, but mostly level grass. There are close to 400 permanent sites throughout the resort, with a lot of golf carts, which didn't cause any problems. I will stay here again. - maineman

We use this state park every year to attend 2 Penn State Football games. Park works out real nice for us. It is close to Route 80. The sites are asphalt back in's. They have a picnic table and fire ring. This park is very clean and well maintained. It has hiking trails, nice lake, boat ramps and plenty of roads to ride bikes. - Ronheb
Nov 2017 - $28.00
Stayed five nights in the modern campground on Sycamore (the pet friendly loop) - This is a very modern campground. Very little tree cover, but very well maintained sites with leveled concrete. Easy to back in to. Sites are very close together. If I came back I would try to book sites: M083, M082, Mo80. I liked that they were tucked back into the woods with a few trees (trees are probably not your thing if you have a HUGE rig but for my little 20 foot motorhome, I prefer it). Bathrooms are old but clean and heated. Campground is not near the lake but it is an easy drive/hike. Beautiful park. Lots to see. Really easy roads to get here. Walmart is only 10 minutes away if you need anything! - Londonandrews
Sep 2017 - $33.00
We stayed for a week. There were different sections and a mix of sites in terms of length and how level. Our site was basically level with trees behind and on the side. Quiet campground with places to ride bikes. Beach area and marina accessible by bike. We would return to this campground if we were in the area. - lce3

We only stayed here one night on our way to New York. The Pull thru site was level. it looks like there are lots of family activities for people staying longer. Our site was water and electric, but the multi-lane dump station was easy to use. - Rich and Judith
Jun 2017 - $55.00
We had a pull-through in the front of the park that was mildly unlevel front-to-back. The site was long enough for our 40 ft. motor home and toad. There were trees nearby but they did not block our satellite dish. Sites in the back of the park however, have many trees around that will probably block satellite dishes there. Good Verizon signal. Good cable TV. Campground was clean and well-maintained. Like many KOA's it's a bit pricey since it was just an overnight stay and we didn't use any of the amenities but it was convenient. - arpijay
Jul 2016 - $47.00
Very quiet mid-week, lots of amenities available. While the bathhouses were clean, they were quite far from our site, which wasn't ideal. Other than that, a good place to stay for overnight or longer. - calijame

Park is older, but the bathrooms were clean. We did not uses the showers, but they were clean also. Tight spots, close to your neighbors, but people, both seasonals and transits, were very friendly. Staff was very nice, super friendly. Even loaned us an electric cord as we had difficulty with ours. The lounge was a nice hangout and something going on every night, cards, trivia, live music and boozy bingo (it is a bit of a party place, but not loud or rowdy, just fun) Not a lot for kids to do, but we did not stay there on a weekend. The lounge is being renovated so just a bit torn up, but still friendly service and nice to be able to sit and socialize and have a beer or drink. It's animal friendly and on the river. We will go back. - gandb26
Jun 2015 - $40.00
Clean park on the Susquehanna River in Montgomery. Easy access. Good 50 amp, good water pressure. Pad was gravel, almost level. Did find several nails in the gravel near the hookups. The last time we visited here it was filled with oil field workers and rather noisy. BUT it settled down after 10 PM. The staff are VERY friendly. Because of our size, (40 footer 3 slides) we were placed near the entryway. This resulted in some traffic noise as well as the dump station being our best view. The park behind was was awesome. We stay here each time we come home to Loyalsock. Closest and best park. - walt66
