We would camp here again. The park is well maintained and staff is helpful. The lots are well maintained, fairly level, and easy to get into. Each lot is unique with different layout. Easy access to lake. The dump station is clean, easy to access, close, and located just outside of loop. There is a swimming pool and modern playground on other side of lake, about 5 minute drive. Swimming pool is large with two water slides; 2 - 9 feet. There is a snack bar but they do not have any chairs. They are very rule focused. We visited in a travel trailer. - Next Mission

It was very nice they have a lot of wildlife. They have a nice pool. They do not have a camp store; you can buy firewood at the pool but you should probably bring your own if you can. But it's nice for kids to ride bikes. They have sites with electric and water. I believe ours didn't have either, but we washed dishes in the bathroom and brought bottled water. - Marg33
Jun 2017 - $25.00
Nice wooded setting. Sites have electric only. Several water fill stations spaced around campground. The restrooms/showers are old and dated. Signage directing you to campground needs improvement. We camped in a 23' trailer so access was easy. - Wilco
May 2017 - $25.00
Stayed during Memorial Day weekend which was very busy. Overall the park is very rustic but the bathrooms and showers are clean. The pool seemed clean. There's a large playground with basketball hoop, swings & sea-saw for kids. The staff was very nice, readily available and helped as needed. The staff was very easy-going and accommodating to last-minute requests and upgrading.
The site is a mixture of overnighters and people who stay with their RVs for the season. With all the campsites full on the holiday weekend, it was very tight. Power and water are available at many of the sites, and others are primitive.
I think this would be a very nice campsite on a quieter weekend. The game room was older with a pool table, air hockey & pin ball machine. It is not a campsite with Wi-Fi and all the amenities. Don't expect hours of entertainment in the game room. It's the kind of campsite that you would relax by the fire, perhaps read, nap on a blanket in the field, play frisbee & enjoy nature. - CamperKim
Oct 2016 - $36.00
Directions to the campground were confusing, making it hard to find. It is quite a distance from grocery stores and gas stations. When I telephoned for assistance I got a recording. The facilities were minimal, the on-site staff was hard to find, the office was unattended and there was no answer at the posted telephone number, some of the interior roads were very steep, sites were heavily wooded. Our site a pull-thru horseshoe and not quite level. I would say that it was barely satisfactory for a short stay. - tweymouth
Jun 2016 - $34.00
Yes, this if out of town & in the woods. We called the park & the owner gave us good directions. Yes, the office, pool, bath & laundry are all on the top & you drive down a hill to the spaces. But it wasn't a problem. The spaces are back-ins, but long and plenty wide. I like that there is plenty of room between the rigs, unlike most of the places you stay. - anniekat
Sep 2016 - $27.00
It was a nightmare getting to this park. The gas took us off exit 199 on I-81 and so does the parks own reservation site, but THE ROAD HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR NEARLY A YEAR. We had to back up about a quarter mile to get back onto I-81 because there was no place to turn around. I had called the local office and was told to check I. At the big brown building, but our rig, which they were told was 40' couldn't make the circle by the offices, requiring another backing up and another phone call. We were told that was the correct building but there was another checkin at the campground. I was told with the senior discount it would be $25.50' but when we got there I was charged a$31 after the discount. We checked in on a Thursday afternoon but the ranger charged us for Friday rates because we were leaving on Friday...then said it was a computer glitch and finally agreed with me. She then said it would be $23 and she would bring the refund to our site. A different ranger came with a receipt showing $27 and stood there arguing with me because the lady had made another mistake and asked to see if I "really" had been charged $31....he wouldn't take my word for it. The woman at the gate told me that based on the price of our rig that $31 should seem cheap to us. Anyways, we got to the site and it was nice, but our experience had already been ruined. - Ginny H
Sep 2015 - $32.00
We camped here over Memorial Day weekend. We had a back in site next to the restroom. They have large deep sinks outside of the restroom so it is easy to wash dishes there. Sites are very shaded and tend to be narrow but no problems to get slides out. Very quiet campground for a holiday weekend. The lake is large and has easy access if you have a boat. Pool was closed at our visit because they are doing repairs to it. This wasn't our first visit here and we will be going back again. - joinpa
Jun 2014 - $33.00
This rate reflects a Senior discount (appreciated!) and a $10 change fee when we had to change dates. We were in the loop numbered 1-50, and there were cabins and a yurt. The electric was good, but we would have appreciated water and maybe sewer. The bathrooms were clean. The roads were pretty tight, but they were paved, as were the sites. The sites were heavily wooded, not too level and our loop was not big rig friendly at all. Travel trailer or smaller class C would be OK. TV antenna reception was OK. The park is beautiful, but the campground was pretty empty. but I think they would be busier with water and maybe sewer at the sites. It was good for our overnight and we would stay there again. - R&S
Sep 2017 - $50.00
Nice park, higher priced than usual for us but seemed in line for this area. Nice people a lot of seasonal campers here but we got a good pull through site plenty long enough for our 40 ft. 5er. Looked like a nice campground for camping. We full time and were there to visit family in the area so only sleep there. Be sure to follow directions going there you don't want to come over mountains. - rogjenmoore
Jul 2017 - $49.00
We were very impressed with this campground. The grounds and all the facilities were immaculate. The pool was sparkling, and this was the same day in which they had an overnight storm which downed trees an left them with no power for many hours. They even traced us down to notify us they had a power outage in case we wanted to back out. Terrific staff. We couldn'the have asked for more. - John ackerly
Jun 2017 - $48.00
This nice park is located on a lake in a mountainous part of Pennsylvania. It is convenient for visiting Scranton. We had good satellite reception and Verizon service. Wifi was better than most parks we have stayed in. OTA reception was good for the major networks. There is a nice pool overlooking the lake and sitting areas near the water. There is a small dog run. Lots of room for walking although many of the gravel roads were rutted from recent rain. Management was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. - Bonnie Lee

I would like to give this park a zero but the water pressure was acceptable, hence we give them a 1. Park was filthy, silt from a creek overflow was everywhere. You were either in dust or mud. a calcium and/or gravel spread would have helped. Our motorhome just barely fit the pull thru site with nowhere to park the car except in the mud. A tree branch blocked the satellite view. When I asked to move the owner replied, "that's why we have cable", she did offer to move us to a site that was not a pull thru, when there were 5 pull thru sites to our left that remained empty. The park is over run with rules, regulations and fines. We traveled from Florida to visit our family of five and if they wanted to visit for a couple of hours it would have cost an additional $40.00 per visit and the owner would not budge on this issue. If you moved the fire ring they would fine you $100.00 and if you brought your own fire wood It was a $100.00 fine. WI-FI was advertised available but we found it to be only in one location. We reserved for ½ month stayed two days and did receive a partial refund. I honestly could not find any redeeming qualities about this park or staff or ownership. My advice, if you want to enjoy your camping experience don't stay here! - Jim Eason
Oct 2017 - $34.00
Warm welcome from the owner and her staff. Clean laundry with new machines. Good arcade for the kids. Nice, level sites with easy back in or pull thru. Convenient to US 6. Beautiful setting by the Tunkhannock creek. We will definitely be back. - Tom Keenan
Jul 2017 - $59.00
Was very nice and the service was great. The first campground I ever stayed at with delivery. Just call the office and tell them what you need and they bring it to your site. - Bill Felix
Aug 2016 - $34.00
Older campground with mostly seasonal campers. We were treated great during check-in. Wi-Fi is secure but doesn't work at the campsite. - Bburgbrewer
Jul 2016 - $34.00
This was just an overnight stay for us. We received a GS + a cash discount. The campground is in the woods, deep woods. I am not sure we would fit excepts in the overnight spots. A lot of permanents(weekend type) so happy we were there during the weekend. A typical family cg. Easy in/out, close to hwy. - Wandering
Jun 2016 - $43.00
We called ahead and there was a pull-site available. The site had a picnic table, but was so small that the table was right next to the coach. It was full hook-ups, but the sewer drain wasn't covered. Most of the people that stay here are either long term or permanent. These sites were better maintained (not all, though) than the available sites. Wonder if the long term/permanent renters maintain their own sites....
Our site was not even close to being level (we could never get the coach leveled, even in manual mode), the gravel was mostly washed away and the mud washed through the camp in the rain. Lots of standing mud. Thankfully we have an outside mat, but it was caked with mud, so getting in/out of the coach was still muddy.
Lots of trees for shade but, not trimmed. Low hanging branches and limbs in the site were not trimmed at all. Tall weeds, except in the roadways.
We were out walking and wanted to use the restroom, but it was so filthy that we wouldn't even go in. Completely disgusting.
The owner was nice enough (that's why it got a two) at check out, but was not around at all during our stay. The office was always closed.
We chose this campground because it was somewhat close to our friends' homes but, we would rather drive further than ever stay here again. - Endeavor Driver

May 2017 - $31.00
Campground: Road access off I-380 can be tricky on most direct route, as there is one bad, tight, dipped turn in the small town that big rigs should avoid. My RV GPS did correctly route us around that. Stayed here in the pet loop in a 33-foot long fifth wheel. Not too many pet sites in park. Had a 50A only site. Campground road is paved. Crushed stone sites, fairly level, with good spacing between sites and scattered mature trees. Watch out for dead branches though. Sites had picnic table and fire ring. Water availability is a real drawback. One place to fill up tanks at dump station on entry road to campground, and I can see it getting very congested and backed-up there in prime season, same for using the dump station on way out. (Was a cold rainy week in early may for us, so we had no issues.) In campground proper, water availability even worse, with only places being at restroom building and at stand practically in the camp hosts site. Very long walk for those on ends of loops. Bathrooms were clean, with good hot water and showers. Had laundry machines there, but we did not use them, so no idea if they are working and maintained. Looked new though. I might stay here again in off season, but not in prime season. Park: Loop trail around lake very nice, can be hiked or biked. Decent size lake for kayaking or canoeing, and of course fishing. - We Roamed and Rambled
Aug 2017 - $23.00
Hickory Run State Park campground looks like an old-fashioned campground in the PA State Parks system. Loops are gravel and meandering. Thickly wooded camp sites. Really nice if you like the woods. Restroom buildings are older and need maintenance. (Tile coming off in showers, one shower not producing hot water) There is an open air loop (basically a field) on the east side. If I had a big RV, I would go there. A large amount of campers are from New York and New Jersey. - kanling
Jun 2017 - $43.00
Beautiful park with lots of shade and trails. Clean and updated tile bathrooms. Modern playground. 2 night stay. Would stay again. - Rob Oglesby
Apr 2017 - $22.00
We were here early in the season. The park is not well-suited to RV's. There were several places where tree branches were left to grow over the roadways at a height that interfered with our TT. We are only 10' 6" tall, but the branches were still an issue. Aside from that, we had a nice stay. Lots of sites. Quiet. Friendly people running the place. You have to see the Boulder Field! Price reflects a non-hookup site and senior discount. - eduJamesE
Aug 2017 - $45.00
Great park... spent 2 nights here. Property is gated, keycard required. FHU, Laundry facilities, pool. 3 washers and 2 dryers. Awesome WiFi and good cable. Great location for a few days of R&R. - Brian-n-Tamara
Jul 2017 - $53.00
We have stayed at Hemlock a few times over the past few years and we are never disappointed. It is a quiet, smaller sized campground which we prefer rather than the resort type. All the weekender sites are well groomed and the whole campground is fully shaded, which comes in handy on hot and humid days. There is plenty to do and see in the area. The owners are friendly and personable. We look forward to going back in September of this year. - pokey
Sep 2016 - $45.00
Very clean quiet campground. Has planned activities.close to many of the pocono offerings. Owners are superb. Majority of sites are seasonal. Short stay sites are roomy no well kept. - Smokinlen
