Gravel roads and spots need grading/leveling, but overall is a nice, quiet CG. A bit high priced, but great location. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hookups fine and we had a pull through with a nice view. Grounds were mowed around sites and entrance well. Too many cheap decorations on the grounds. Miniature golf ok but needed to be kept up better. Quiet night . We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I had been here many years before but the park has just not kept up with maintenance and feels tired. Site was level and easy enough to get into. I would use again if I had to but would prefer not to. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This was our fourth year camping here. Very, very disappointed. The laundry was no longer available, but we were not informed of this before arriving. We have six children and were there for two weeks. I was told I could drive into town if I wanted to do laundry. The children's park was completely overgrown. The mini-golf and shuffle board were very overgrown as well. I did complain to the owner and she did spend the next few hours cleaning it up. There is a newer hired hand who is not fond of children. We have never, ever had complaints anywhere about our children. The man showed up daily to accuse our children of everything from pooping in the public showers (which we do not use) to not cleaning up after our dog (which we did). Every single day brought numerous complaints to the point the kids just stayed in the camper wanting to go home. This was our big two week vacation. A quiet place for the kids to ride bikes and relax around a fire. It was extremely disappointing and doing laundry for a large family by hand was not my idea of fun. I would then hang it to dry and hope for the best. We asked why there was no laundry and were told they couldn't afford to replace the broken washers. There are also many dead trees. We asked if that was going to be addressed and were told they only cut trees when the park is empty. The park used to be full, but was over half empty the entire time we were there. We were offered a few extra nights stay- free of charge due to the numerous problems, but instead chose to go home when our time that we had paid for was over. Enough was enough. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I stayed here during the entire Football Season. The staff running the facility are very interested in maintaining the highest standards, and it is the nicest Campground with the largest sites in the area, and the closest to Penn State. You need to make your reservation well in advance to get a site with water/sewer/and power which also allows for a Sat. signal. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our third year in a row camping here. Our family and friends staying in the next site absolutely loved it. There is a friendly quiet atmosphere about the place. There is a lot for children to do at this campground without breaking the budget. The unlimited miniature golf is a favorite with our children. There is also a park, basketball court, water pad and lots of places for them to safely ride their bikes without bothering other campers. The folks running the campground bend over backwards to accommodate any need we run into. We are always made to feel welcome and liked. Lots of shady areas for walking and relaxing. Our pet was welcome and I did not notice anyone's animals unleashed or any excessive barking. I did use the laundry facilities and was very pleased at the cost and accommodations. We plan to continue camping here for many years to come. Thank you for all of the efforts made by the staff to create such a welcoming environment. Tips for other Campers:

There is a shopping plaza within two miles of this campsite. It includes a huge Weis grocery store (including pharmacy and beer sales), a medical clinic, gas station and liquor store. We made use of the grocery store, medical clinic, pharmacy, liquor store and gas station and all were top notch!

I gave a 9 rating and would have made it a 10 but for one thing: the WIFI. It was useless most of the 2 days we were at the park. We have a Verizon hotspot but those gigabytes go fast. With better WIFI, this would be a nice place to spend a few days. RV parks don't seem to understand how important WIFI is. We don't use any of rv park facilities like swimming pool or restrooms/showers and would gladly trade them for good WIFI.

Other than that, its a very nice park with spacious sites and nice landscaping. It was very hot or I'd have taken a long walk with the dog. Very nice management. Location is very good, only about a mile from Rte 80 and easy roads to get to the camp. Everything but the WIFI worked well. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Motorhome.

This could be one of the best campgrounds around PA. It's big, has nice treed areas to camp, fire rings, lots of places to walk, pet friendly ,

They are a little too laid back for our liking, when we arrived, the office was closed( early afternoon) a sign on the door said. Call this number, we did.. 4 times, goes to voice mail.. After driving around and walking around looking for someone to check us in, we decided to just pick a site and get settled. We did have a reservation for a one week stay. 2 hours later a lady shows up at our door and we eventually got checked in.

If you have trouble walking, do not stay here, the rv sites are on hilled terraces; very pretty, but hard to walk up and down the hills to the office.

The camp ground offers free mini golf and a water splash area, neither in good shape.

They keep horses ( no riding), rabbits, and a play ground. But, it all needs some tender love and lots of care; the owners are really trying to get it all together, and with time and a lot of work they might do it.

They have been trying to get a "store" up and running for the past three years, but there is still no store.

Overall, we would stay at Gram and Paps Fort Bellemonte again. The people are very nice. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About 10 minutes from Bellefonte. Don't go the Governors Pub to eat. The food is not good, fries are reheated, yucky. The park by the river is pretty, and has lots of ducks to feed.

Called for reservations and asked for a level pull thru long enough to hold our 45' motorhome. Was told they would put us in site 69 that will be fine--nice and level and would not require us to unhook our car. When we got there we got there given sight 65 which was plenty long enough but had a severe slope toward the front. Had to use 4" of blocks to get level and had to unhook the car to do that. Water connection was on the wrong side of the site and the electric box had a big posting that said to not shut off the circuit breaker. Not what we expected for the price. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Motorhome.

Park has a variety of sites: 30 amp or 50 amp, shaded or open, full hookups, or water and electric only. Some access is narrow; short, steep sections of gravel drive. Plenty of room for our large 5th wheel in drive-through site #69. A good family destination with lots of activities for children. Some long term residents scattered around. Expensive if no kids to entertain; the 50% Escapees discount makes it reasonable (not sure why they dropped Passport America). We would stay here again as SKPs. Tips for other Campers:

Bald Eagle State Park is nearby.

Bellefonte is a very pretty town with many Victorian homes and buildings. Also home of the American Philatelic Society and a large, pleasant city park. Penn State is 10 minutes away.

This is our favorite campground in the area and we have stayed at this park many times, this trip for 12 nights. Staff has always been most friendly and helpful and throughout the years, many changes have been made to upgrade the grounds and facilities. More attention should be given to the big rig sites to make them more level. We almost always have to work a bit harder here to find the most level spot of the pull-through. On this last visit, our chief complaint was the Wi-Fi. It would work for awhile, then go off. Most often it was off and calls to or stopping by the office became tiresome. We use our laptop for business and need dependable Wi-Fi. This is our chief complaint overall and we will definitely make a return visit. Just love the view of the mountains and rolling meadow here. Power was good. Water pressure was good. The Wi-Fi was rather poor at our site. Site was big enough for our trailer, however the truck would not have fit. Thankfully the park person allowed to park it in the next vacant site. That was very nice. Unfortunately I reduced the rating due to the very poor location of the sewer dump, very narrow path/road and you really can only dump from one way. This just wouldn't work for me so I had to find another dump site at a Flying J. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent a single night in a pull-thru, heading west. Our site was fairly level, with full hookups. Cable TV worked well, and the view of the Pennsylvania mountains from our site was very pretty. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. Nice park. We recommend it. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Passport America Rate $24. Is now called “Fort Bellefonte campground (CG)”, not “Gram and Pap’s Fort Bellefonte CG”. Convenient on/off I-80. Typical Pocono Mountain campground – old, terraced sites on side of hill, gravel roads & sites, many trees. But thankfully for us, a couple of sites are open enough to get satellite from our roof antenna. Good 50 amp electric. Overnighter sites could use some leveling. Restrooms old and dark, office old, dark, and damp smelling. Owners friendly and accommodating. Trash way off in far corner was not convenient. Entrance trees need to be cut back for larger rigs. Quiet. Nice view out over field. Would come back. We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy on and off I-80 so great for anover night. Our rate reflects a Passport America discount. The road up to our site was a little steep but not a problem. Our site (66) is great--almost level side to side. Some of the pull-throughs are not very level front to back. No noise from the highway. The owners were very nice. We would absolutely stay here again. Would recommend reservations if during Penn State football season We camped at Gram and Pap's Fort Bellefonte Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
