By stream, but tree on my site was old and dying, dropping big branches in the wind and storms that went through. No security for a so called resort. Myself and a group goes to Robin Hill every year. This year was the worst. Was placed between two campers with loads of uncontrolled kids. They had no common courtesy to the people around them. They were up to 2:30 am for two nights. Campground had no security going around like most campgrounds to tell people to be quiet. Camp store closed up early on Sunday night. For the price was not worth what they are offering. - ScottW72
Jun 2017 - $64.00
The price brings the rating down. This is not a luxury resort and not worth $64 a night. Grass was high. Store barely has anything in it. Arcade is full of old games and a few of them don't work. Building behind barn is falling down, hopefully no kids go past the caution tape keeping them out. People drinking and spilling beer IN the pool. A bunch of drunk people drinking and shooting pool in the arcade. My guess would be that this is a weekly occurrence, as the people doing it had golf carts. The staff is friendly and they do have lots of activities. It's close to home so it's a good weekend getaway for us, but we only go here when we have a discount of some sort. There is nothing about this campground that justifies the $64 a night fee. - Mike Jh
Jun 2017 - $64.00
We found the campground at Robin Hill to be a very nice place. Our site was spacious and open. One concern is that it was very tight to back into. We had to move the sign out in front of the seasonal site across from us to get into our site, but once that was done we backed in with moderate effort. Once in the site it was easy to level it. Water pressure was good. Both electrical and sewer hook ups were convenient. The back of our site backed up to a farmers field with a thick tree line between it and our site. The site had a picnic table and fire ring. The site was very quiet and relaxing.
The store was well stocked and the people there were very friendly. The grounds were well maintained. The pond it held many large fish, definitely a plus for me. As others have pointed out, there are many seasonal campers here, but in our section they were well maintained and those who we spoke to were very nice and friendly. The roads in the campground were a little tight but we managed just fine. Our friends used the pool and they said that was very nice. They also have a large game room. We will definitely be going back. - Tim W
Sep 2016 - $116.00
It was the first time we stayed and we loved it. I have three daughters and they had a blast meeting new friends. The staff was very helpful park was very clean, camp activities and entertainment, pool the playground sand volleyball hiking where also a plus at this campground. Definitely coming back next year, already booked our date with them. A must see campground to visit. We loved the Rocks. - Mike and Jen
Jun 2014 - $48.00
The campground is farther off the main roads than you would expect after reading their brochure. No discounts for anything. Narrow entry and exit pasted the office. VERY hilly with huge drop off ditches on each side of the road. Steep road up the hill. Sites are no where near level. The bathhouse is old and outdated with no a/c or heat. The check-in clerk had no idea if the campground could fill propane in a motorhome. I did see the propane station but it was not reachable by a motorhome. I should have but did not read the reviews. Do not even think of going here in a motorhome. I will not return. - cmprcountry
Aug 2011 - $47.00
We enjoyed our stay here. They have an on-staff security officer who drove around the campground. Although, there didn't seem to be a need for him to drive around, it was comforting to see him. The campground was well maintained and the owners take pride in it. We especially enjoyed the ice cream shop. The couple that worked there was very friendly. We took a hike to the top of the mountain. The view was amazing, but we were not prepared for how hard it was. I think that there should have been more information on how difficult the trails were. - Mike in NJ
Sep 2017 - $40.00
Good for an overnight stay. Laundry facilities located in both men's and women's bathhouses. - MamaBird
Sep 2017 - $49.00
The park is kept clean and was a great location for an overnight stay. It is right on the highway and it was noisy, all night. The site was nice enough. The bath house was clean, it was odd to have the washer and dryer in the bathroom. There is a play area, but no pool. The electric service was good. A little expensive based on location/amenities, but we would stay here again. We camped in a 5th wheel. - SteveandAnn
Aug 2017 - $40.00
Well maintained park with virtually all pull through sites. Neat as a pin. Very convenient to I-78. The gravel interior roads were well maintained but a bit narrow in places. Inspect your site before you drive to it for length if you're just stopping for the night w/o unhooking a tow vehicle. The views of the valley were gorgeous and though we we could see the interstate, it was very quiet. Management was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again. - DMcKitt
Apr 2017 - $37.00
The campground was very clean, well maintained and the service was great. Our campsite was next to their beautiful lake/pond area. The reasons I didn't give it an excellent were the showers were timed you paid $.25 for 8 minutes and they were FREEZING! I have never had to pay for a shower before so finding the change to make my shower last was a little difficult. The other thing was our campsite wasn't level we were leaning downhill so trying to make breakfast was a little challenging besides that we really enjoyed our stay here. - NKatieA
Aug 2011 - $39.00
Sites were large but extremely difficult to back into. Sites were shaded but not a lot of privacy from your neighbor. Pool was clean, lake was stocked with fish. The few planned activities they had were fun. Staff was friendly. This is connected to a mobile home park, but no problems there. Roads were paved so good for bike riding. Nice playground for the kids. Not sure if we would return as I think we could find better CG's in the area. - autismmom
Jul 2011 - $39.00
Stayed here for a quick overnight to meet up with friends in the area to go to the nearby mountain springs arena to see the Rodeo. Very nice campground, very large sites, some grassy, plenty of space. Pool area looked very clean, there was a cute snack bar, and a pretty large camp store. We didn't get to do much at the campground but from what I saw overnight I would definitely go back again. Also, it is only one mile off of route 78 so if you are in need of a place to pull off on your way north or south this would be a great option. - Nj camping couple
Sep 2017 - $60.00
Well, we arrived Friday at 8 o'clock, unhooked and got a fire going. My 17 son took the golf cart out for a ride around the campground. So he came back in 10 mins and behind him came 3 golf carts all being staff including the owner. He didn't even say hi. All he said, as he got into my face, this golf cart you have may not be used in this campground. I did not say a word as he said again this golf cart may not leave the site. He said no gas-powered carts are allowed. As all three of there carts are gas powered. The way he handled it in front of my family was extremely rude. Anyways rules are rules. I just didn't know that was a rule, he could have been a lot nicer...Campground itself is very close together as sites are on top of each other... If you wanna fish in there fishless pond you have to pay 5 bucks a person. What a joke!!!! Sites are not level either. Would not recommend. - Harrison jones
Jul 2017 - $68.00
We were very excited to visit this campground. There were pluses and minuses to the campground. First the positives: The roads were pretty easy to navigate, our site was easy to pull in to, there was a greeter at the main gate with our paperwork, made it very easy to check in, this I think was because it was 4th of July weekend. There was a live band one night and a DJ the next, the proximity of our sites to the stage made it easy for us to sit at our campsites and enjoy the music. My wife and I do not have small children but there were many activities to keep kids busy. The pool was nice but perhaps a little on the small side. The camp store was stocked with the basics. The ice cream store was also very nice. The campground was also nicely kept, very clean. Now for the negatives: While the pull sites were very long, they were also very narrow. Our door opened up to a common space that was shared by our neighbors. Now, in our case our neighbors were our very good friends who went along with us. The sites alternated in which direction you pulled in. So our door and our friends door opened up towards each other. Our campers were so close to one another that we could not put our awnings all the way out without bumping into each other. there were two fire rings and two picnic tables in the common space. For us wasn't a problem but if you didn't know your neighbors you'd have to pick the one you wanted to use. As far as the campsite itself, it was far from level. I've never been in a campsite so unlevel before. Out friends camper was so high in the front that their bottom step was about three feet off the ground. Fortunately, they had a foldable step that they could use to get in their trailer. The last thing I would like to point out is that the claimed "Well stocked" pond was a disappointment. Over three days of fishing I only caught one Bass, it was the only fish I saw that was caught over those three days. - Tim W
Apr 2017 - $60.00
Appalachian is close to home and 1 of our 3 go to for a quick weekend. Staff is excellent. Most sites are level, however, there are pretty many pull through sites that are way off level. A lot of seasonals, but all are friendly and their sites are immaculate. Makes for a great walk or bike ride just checking out the landscaping at their sites. Store is average. Nice pond for fishing and a heated pool. Onsite snack bar. There rates are beginning to get very high, but so are most campgrounds in this area. We will be back, hopefully with a discount from somewhere. - Mike Jh
Sep 2016 - $27.00
Avoid the place at all costs. The first site they directed us to was not level and the water was not accessible. Other sites on that row had low hanging wires and tree branches. We found a better site in a different area and the lady said it was okay to move there as long as we backed in (there were empty pull throughs) and used 30 amp. We were passport America. So we moved, leveled, pulled out the slides etc. then discovered that the polarity on the 30 amp was reversed and the 50 amp only registered 30 amps with fluctuating current. Luckily is was not hot so we could dry camp. I called the office at 2:30 and she said she would try to find a maintenance person but it was late! In the meantime, the only other person camped in the area said that he had similar problem and the owners son had told him he could move. His coach had a high end surge protector. so he stayed out. The lady in the office called at four and said we could move or they would refund our money, we were only staying one night so we did not bother. In the morning the lady at the desk, with the owner standing right there, said no refunds. This is totally irresponsible to have known electrical problems that could damage your coach. STAY AWAY. - HayNan
Jul 2016 - $46.00
We stayed there in July and we had 90 deg weather. Their power was terrible we could not run our A/C voltage to low they had not service people to check our breaker and we not helpful at all. campsite was all stone and hard for the dog to walk around old campground and out of the way. - Dotty Weis
Jun 2015 - $26.00
This campground is designed for weekend campers with many weekend activities. However, there is an open space that appears to be somewhat recently added, that works for overnight for travelers. This is quite adequate with drive-in spaces with full-hookups including 50 amps. The sites are fairly level, although we had to work a bit to get leveled. The gate to enter the park is quite narrow, so be sure to watch your mirrors, so you do not lose them. The directions to the park in the PP book are confusing. Exit 23 and go south for about 100 yards and turn right (go west) on old route 22. Also, the campground easily accommodated our 40 foot rig, with the toad attached. - hoppytoad
Mar 2018 - $40.00
Stayed here 3 nights due to need to be close to a family function. Other parks in area were full. Older park with mostly permanent residents. Staff was friendly and reasonably helpful, but the park itself needs vast improvements. Here to attend family matters in Philadelphia, did not do any leisure activities. Lower section of park was only half full, so parking for toad off my site wasn't a problem. Trash dumpster stayed full and campers left bags on top of or around it. Based on overall conditions of park, we did not use bath facilitijes or look for laundry facilities. - Movgfwd
Oct 2016 - $35.00
This is a difficult campground to review. There are things I really like about it, but their website is also a little misleading and their bathhouse is just terrible.
Start with the good, we were camped in the lower portion of the campground on a water/electric site. The sites are in a great location, well spaced, level, with large trees and a picturesque fishing pond. Water and electric were both in good working order. There is some light and road noise from nearby Rt 100, but it died down in the evening. The downside of the location, and what the map and website don't explain, is that these sites are on a different property, even in a different municipality, and more then ½mile from the bath house and the rest of the campground. There was a port-a-pot there, but you had to drive to take a shower.
The bath house was the other downer. It had nice showers that seemed to be recently renovated, but one of the toilets was clogged all weekend and the whole place smelled due to poor ventilation. There were no mirrors above the sinks, and it finally it was a struggle to work the lock to the ladies room, we could not open it at all the first night we were there.
We never ran into the crazy owner and in fact we only saw one staff member who checked us in when we arrived. She was wonderful, leading us to a site of our choosing and bringing down a large load of firewood which she helped unload.
In all I would return, but only if they resolved the bath house situation. - Cyclonic
Aug 2015 - $35.00
Paved roads, gravel sites. It is on a hill and the sites are terraced. The first spot we were put into was a bit unlevel and we had a hard time trying to get level. We asked to be moved and the camp manager was very pleasant and found a better spot for us. We were here 5 nights, very quiet park for the most part. The rules are strict, but for the betterment of the park and provided a quiet pleasant stay. One neighbor had a noisy dog and when we called the park manager, she told us that a few other campers had also called her and she was on her way to check things out. Problem resolved. We were on the top of the hill and had a beautiful view of the area around us. No pool, playground or other amenities. The laundry facilities that are clean. There is a car race track somewhere in the area, so Saturday evening was a bit noisy. Nothing they can do about that. We will stay here again when in the area. - esta34950
Jun 2016 - $65.00
We stayed here spring 2016. As we pulled in and as we got close the office, you could smell sewer. The smell was really bad all weekend. But that was not the only problem. The price was higher then we wanted. Higher rate for family. 51 base rate but extra for older kids. But I realize that adding for adult kids is normal.
Internet was spotty. Kept kicking us off. The RVs/trailers are packed in like sardines. You have campers very close on 3 sides of you. No privacy at all. We really didn't have any grass. We didn't even have a fire ring, not that we had the space to use it. I don't think you could park a car between the campers--they were too close. We couldn't use our awning.
Also, there is many permanent sites. It seemed as if 75 to 85% (could be much higher)are permanent. Just looked and felt like a trailer court. Doesn't feel like you are camping. The bathrooms were not clean and smelled of mold. There was green algae growing on things--not all things but the propane tank and shed were the worst. The office looked OK. And the people seemed nice.
There was a few 'cabins' that from the outside looked good.
We didn't check out the pool. The campground roads were confusing a bit. We will not go back because of the smell, no privacy, high prices and lack of good atmosphere. - KayG
Mar 2016 - $42.00
Owners of this campground are wonderful. I have never seen owners cooking food and doing pedicure's for mothers day. They are aware of everything in their campground and they want to keep people happy. Nicest people you ever want to meet. Our site is great has lots of room. Game room is very nice. Bathrooms are clean. Pool looks very nice can't wait to swim in it. The pavilion is over the top it is so nice closed in all season pavilion has a bathroom and a kitchen. This is the nicest one I have ever seen. Playground is nice. Store is very cute has a lot of cute things in it. People in campground are all so nice. We love it and plan to camp here for a very long time. Lots of fun activities to do. - NIKKI66
Jul 2013 - $41.00
Nice enough campground. Gravel roads and level gravel sites. Cable TV was good. Internet was very spotty. Very friendly people run the park and their guests are friendly, too. Many permanent campers have been left there by owners who come periodically. They are not kept clean which makes the campground seem a little ratty. But it was quiet and peaceful while we were there. - traveling2s
Jun 2015 - $36.00
Wi-fi internet is for all intentional purposes, useless. No sewer hookups. One dump station. Big sites, good spacing between sites. Good clean Christian run park. Rules enforced for noise. Great kids park. Nice heated pool, playground, dog friendly, game room. Plenty to do in the area. Close to Cabelas. Mostly permanents. Call ahead as weekends fill up quickly. - Salem Cruise Lite
Aug 2011 - $30.00
This was our first CG during our first time long term full-time RVing and we were very pleased. We hope that this would be an example of what we will be encountering on our journey. The owners are very nice people that did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. We had the unfortunate timing of hurricane Irene and ended up without electricity for 3 days. But it was all good. Great experience and we learned how to boon dock. The CG has narrow roads made of crushed stone and the location for RVers, nicknamed the airport, is an open space that is newly converted for RVing, with modern electric and water. The spaces were tight, when the park was full. Not much for shade as the trees are still young and not very tall. We stayed during both an empty park, with only a few guests, and a full one, during labor day weekend, which had a lot of activity going on. All in all, it is a clean CG, great people, clean showers, nice pool. The road getting to the CG is steep, as are the roads within the CG. We enjoyed our stay and would return. We recommend this CG. - thesarge7
Mar 2011 - $25.00
We camped here in March with our brand new travel trailer (we just picked it up) and it could not have been nicer. The people there were super friendly and let us pick any site that was available. We stayed in what appeared to be a newer gravel section that was really nice and clean. Sites are roomy and well marked. We had a guest visit and they were great. The staff helped us find local activities and was very helpful. Large playground facility that my 5 year old really enjoyed. I enjoyed that the seasonal sites were set apart from the nightly sites; it made it more camping and less summer home. The only thing missing was the sewer hook up, but that is not a deal breaker. - RVFamily1221
