The campground is mostly tree shaded however between several rows of sites is a large grass area. Since the sites are mostly dirt and very close, we moved our chairs to the grass area behind our site. When we first parked at our site, the gravel was washed away with large muddy areas around our unit. We asked if we could have more grave. They agreed and promptly arrived with several bucket loads from the front end loader. We appreciated the service. WiFi is available, cable TV is excellent, looked like a new installation. New owners of the park are doing a good job of improving the conditions. Our only complaint was the visiting friends charge, $5.00 per person. Thought that was a little on the high side. Pool is a nice size although we didn't use. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This facility is easily accessed via Highway 84 a major 4 lane road that runs north/south through Pennsylvania. This is an older park that is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The roads in the park are easy to navigate and there are no trees to snag your rig. Our site was #235, back in, gravel, reasonably level, FHU, but only 30 amp and no cable. There was free WiFi but it was slow and would usually drop for no apparent reason. There is no site separation, no shade, and you need to be careful when backing in or you will hit the rig behind you. In my humble opinion it is a bit pricey for no cable. Other parks we have stayed at for the same price or less did offer cable. Over the air TV was limited. Verizon cell service and internet was OK. The bathrooms and laundry room were clean and well taken care of. Overall the park was well taken care of, the grass is kept cut, and the roads are maintained. However, there are a lot of people who appear to live here full time and not all sites are taken care of. In essence, the park is clean but it's appearance is somewhat dated. We would if in the area probably return to this park especially since it is the only park in the immediate area that is somewhat reasonably priced and well maintained. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Centrally located to Hershey Park, Gettysburg, The US Army Heritage & Education Center. There is a Walmart, grocery stores, and fast-food restaurants nearby. The town of Carlisle is also only one exit away and there are many interesting stores and shops located there. There are a number of gas stations near the park.

Nice older RV park. It is taken very good care of. Easy to get to from I-84. Nice gravel level sites. A little pricey for a park without cable. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great overnight stop off of I-81. Lots of shops and restaurants near by. They keep 9- 50 amp full hook up pull thrus for overnights, so make your reservation early. They fill up every day. You can make the reservation online too. It is a large seasonal campground with lots of areas to walk the dog. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here in 2011 and I had given it five stars. It has changed in character and make up and should be called a trailer park due to the amount of permanent and seasonal (left at the site rigs). When we made reservations, we were asked the length of our rig and if we had slides. So imagine our surprise when we were given a minuscule site, sandwiched between two trees. Had we even been able to get in, our slides would have been in our neighbors sites. We were then assigned #136. It is on the outer perimeter, again sandwiched in type sites and we backed up against the sites in back. It was on dark gray rock with not a shred of greenery. Our storage lot at home is better than this site we spent a week at. At night our neighbors fire was under our bedroom slide. There are open spaces to walk your dog and people were good about picking up. I guess if you have kids it may be good as there is a pool and bounce pad. I guess it was safe. Laundry machines take credit cards and were efficient. The nice sites are up front, pull through, and have trees and grass. They did have a nice fireworks display for July 3. The location is good for the historic sites, for Hershey, and for the casino. Unless staying for one night I will not return. I was really disappointed in the change. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If your "big rig" is over 40 feet, do not go here. At 44 feet, we were given a Pull-thru (actually 2 sites together #34 and #54). Trees were trimmed up at the site, but almost got stuck maneuvering into site avoiding the tree trunks. Trying to leave was another matter. Could not make the turn to exit the park without 3 peoples assistance, coming within 2" of the roof of the office, and actually hitting an overhanging branch of a corner tree that extends halfway across the road and damaging the roof. Very nice people, but NOT a good place for a large coach. Anyone advertising "Big Rig" access should take a 45' coach and actually enter the park, park the rig, and then exit the park to see what is involved. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access from 81, site is a pull thru and fairly level. We were unable to put our awning out due to a power pole next to us. Pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were an overnight stay and they appear to have a number of pull through sites designed for overnighters like us. That was great since we didn't need to unhitch. The park appears to have a number of seasonal or full time residents and the overnight spaces are right up front. The rest rooms and showers were very good, but not great. Hook ups were all reliable and in good shape. The folks in the office were helpful on the phone and in person. All in all a good place for an in-transit stop. Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight as we traveled to eastern PA. The campground is convenient from I81. Entrance is thru a residential neighborhood. The inner roads and sites are fine stone which had basically turned to dust and while there is a 7 1/2 mph speed limit posted within the campground, a number of the seasonal residences ignore the speed rule and kick up lots of dust. The 'overnight' pull-thru sites are actually 14 two back to back sites used as 7 pull-thru sites. We were in site(s) 52 and 32. The utilities were convenient, 50a (119/120 vac), water (50 psi) and multiple sewer connections to choose from. Our site was level side to side but high in the front. The overnight pull-thru sites are not SAT friendly but I was able to pull ABC, CBS, NBC and more OTA channels. WiFi worked well. AT&T Cell phone was 3/4 bars. The Staff was friendly, you are not escorted to your site. This is a large campground, over 200 sites, most are seasonal residence. My ratings for this campground would have been higher if it wasn't for the dusty inner roads. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a good spot for us to easily get to Gettysburg and to visit family in Shippensburg. It is well cared for and even though there were many children there it was not very noisy. We would stay here again if we were in the are. Location is close to many services. It is also easy on/off the highway. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place to stay if in the area. They will put two sites together for a pull thru if just stopping for one night as we did. Lots of activities, especially for kids. Sites are fairly level full hook up 30/50 amp gravel. Staff friendly. Good WIFI and local channels (trees). Just too pricey for what you get. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night on our way home. Check in was quick and easy. Pleasant staff. The site we were given was actually two sites that back up to one another but they had us use it as a pull thru. This made the connections a bit awkward. Large, active family park with plenty for the kids to do and good location to explore the area. Interior roads good. Had to disconnect to level front to back. Nice clean restrooms. Wi-Fi and Verizon worked well. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great little find for our one night stopover. The site was perfectly level (we stayed in 34-54 pull through), and it seems we visited on a perfect night. There was a great mix of families and couples of all ages. Karaoke was going on in the park further back, and that was fun to listen to as our family played mini golf on a very fun and challenging little course with lots of fun obstacles that were run by motors. My kids are disappointed that it was just a one night stop. They had hand dipped ice cream in their store, along with lots of other well-stocked items. By the way, it's nestled in at the back of a cute little neighborhood. Hoping to be back some day! We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Charming campground located at the back of a neighborhood in Carlisle, PA. Website said they had a two night minimum but they were most accommodating during a one-night stay while awaiting service for a mechanical issue. Also concerned about campers welfare at check-in during a severe weather event - gave us instructions for nearest safe building and loudspeaker announced a timely tornado warning. Never happened but appreciate the diligence. Full service hook-up was as advertised-20,30,50 amp. OTA TV stations available. WIFI was good. Site was level but was varied throughout the park. This is a big wooded campground with about 30% seasonal/permanent residents in very nice sites. Nice extras included: pool, mini-golf, jumping pillow and hand dipped Hershey's Ice Cream - YUM! We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park where we stayed for 4 days. We plan to come back again later during the summer to explore Gettysburg. We had all 4 features that we consider important in a campground listed in order of importance: good free Wi-Fi, satellite coverage, 50 amps, and a level site (178). The Wi-Fi was excellent most of the time. To our delight there a Giant supermarket nearby. Giant is where we do all our grocery shopping at home near Annapolis, MD. The Giant here is better than ours at home. Since we had everything we want in a campground, I have no reason to give a less than 10 rating. We camped at Western Village RV Park in a Motorhome.
