Very well maintained campground very close to Knoebels. This was the last weekend they were open. Kind of upset you do not get to choose your site. We would have preferred a site near the giant open field that backs up to the road, whereas people that were actually put there preferred the site we had instead. It is kind of noisy due to the traffic on the road but that would not have bothered us. Sites were pretty close to each other. You'll get to know your neighbors. Acorns fell off the trees and hit the camper all day and night. Playground is a bit too small, but the fishing pond is pretty. Most of the nicer "waterfront" sites are reserved for their seasonals. We weren't looking too much for an amenity filled campground but preferred a full hook up campground close to Knoebels. We will most likely stay here again next year. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at J & D Campgrounds the week before Labor Day weekend when local school districts were already in session so there were quite a few sites available. The "A" loop appears to be dedicated to transient campers while the bulk of the Park has seasonal campsites. ALL of the sites are well maintained! The grounds and facilities are immaculate. Our site was level, spacious and much larger than our rig. The full hookup was modern and well maintained and had been meticulously planned for ease operation. Excellent water pressure, sewer connection was threaded and the cable tv was excellent. We did not make use of the WiFi as there was excellent Verizon connectivity. The picnic table and fire ring were well cared for. All of our contacts with the staff were excellent. They were friendly, articulate, knowlegable and seemed genuinely concerned to make our stay comfortable. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The mini-golf was average but nonetheless entertaining. Nearby attractions were close by including Knoebel's Amusement Park, Pioneer Tunnel ( a tour of an anthracite coal mine and steam locomotive ride) and convenient shopping. The Office had an excellent candy/treat selection and a modicum of RV essentials at fair prices. The pool area was pristine, supervised and well maintained. My grandsons enjoyed the playground. We will be returning!

Overall Rating:

Clean, quiet campground. Very well-maintained. J & D is only about a mile or so from Knoebels so it's conveniently located. It's close to a two-lane highway so there will be noise from that but our fellow campers were quiet and respectful. Would have given a higher rating if not for the fact our site was TIGHT. We have a 26' nose-to-tail travel trailer and I had to back it almost all the way to the rear of the site to be able to angle my truck off the road. That precluded our using the fire pit which was too close to the trailer. Side-to-side was also tight - we couldn't extend the awning all the way out and you can forget about moving the picnic table - there was no place to move it to. I would, and probably will go back again but only if I can avoid one of the small sites. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

We first saw this CG last year after having reserved at another campground and decided this would be where we would stay should we be in the area again. So fast forward one year and here we are. Our camping club held their May campout here and we are very happy we came. The campground is of moderate size, the sites are level and both deep and wide. Power was good, water pressure is decent. Utilities were well placed. Cable had a considerable number of channels. Wi-Fi through Tengo was decent and free. It is only about 2 miles to Knoebels, in itself worth the trip. The camp store is small, but had a fair amount of basic stuff. Walmart and Lowes are not far off and there is a Weiss maybe 5-6 miles away. We will stay here again should we be in this area. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground with lots of trees and large, long, wide sites. We stayed in the E section, had plenty of room for our large motorhome and everything else on our site. Restroom was far from our site but very clean. Store is small and not much in the way of scheduled activities, but it has two ponds, one for fishing, one has a beautiful fountain. We planned to go to Knoebels, (didnt make it) this is right down the road. Would definitely stay here again if coming to the area. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Previous posts are accurate. It is a beautiful park with a lot of mature trees, but roads and sites are clear of branches, beautiful grass. Vast majority seem to be well kept seasonal. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful park friendly staff, great grounds and level sites. They take pride in the grass here so refrain from putting anything on the grass, they will ask you to remove it if you do. All hook ups work well, wifi ok for surfing and checking emails but wouldn't try videos. Staff came by on our first night and warned us of a possible bad storm on the way to prepare for it, never really had a campground do that so nice to know they care. Great place to stay to visit Knoebels with full hook ups, one mile to the park so still have to drive there as the road is to busy to walk safely.

The staff here are friendly and try to be accommodating. The main office "moves" around in the early season from a store across from the campground to a small building at the entrance to the campground. The sites are predominately long term/seasonal although, for the most part, they are well maintained. The seasonal sites are by the creek or a pond and away from route 487. The short term sites are closer to route 487, and it is very noisy during the day. Thankfully, it quiets down at night. Also, beware the recycling/trash pick up - sometimes as early as 4:00 am! There are lots of trees which are quite beautiful. Satellite is unlikely but the cable is very good. Sites are a mixed bag. They are gravel sometimes mixed with a decent amount of grass. Our site was long and pretty level. Others can be short, long, level or not so level sloping towards the front of the site. There is a small strip of grass/trees between sites but they are still close together. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Water pressure drops sometimes to around 40psi. Internet is Tengo so it either worked or it didn't work at all. Lots and lots of potholes that they started filling in just before Memorial Day; however, you will still rock and roll in the dips. It is a busy campground with the main draw being Knoebels Amusement park. Reservations are recommended. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

This could be a very nice campground... except the bathrooms were old and have little to no privacy. They have no laundry on site. The small pool has very strange hours. Noon to 5pm the 6 to 9? Most of the nice sites are seasonals. It is very close to Knenobles, the provided utilities worked as they should. Staff was friendly enough. They are VERY picky about thier grass. We have decided to try other campgrounds in the area. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nearly perfect campground in a beautiful part of Pennsylvania. It is tightly controlled, but very clean and friendly. The cable is free, as is the Internet. Both are extremely strong...the cable has a hundred or so channels. Knoebels Amusement Park is 1.5 miles down the road. The ice cream store across the street has the best quality I have experienced, nearly anywhere. The only negatives are a small pool and office with limited supplies, due to size. It's quiet for adults and with Knoebels so close, a dream for kids. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

We were here last year and the staff is still friendly & helpful.Sites are level, good hookups, good tv & cell reception, just up the road from Knobles amusement park.Have a small pool but nice. Restrooms clean.Only down side, office is tiny with very little supplies other than candy & marshmellows. So bring what you need, any parts or supplies will be about 1-1/2 miles or so away.Great ice cream place across from camp. This is a well planned family run campground. All sites are fairly level with a gravel surface. All the office people were very accommodating especially with our request to have some cousins stop by to visit with us. They have a very strict 5 mph rule which seems to be enforced just at the beginning of the campground where all the sites are seasonal/permanent campers. The speeder gets yelled at very loudly. This enforcement could be handled in a much nicer, more civilized manor. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

We stay here for a long weekend every summer with family. There are three 5th wheels between us. The campground is always full, but the owners seem to keep things under control. There is an employee in a golf cart who rides around almost all day, just checking on things. Our experience here is always pleasant, with the one exception that the pool is usually overcrowded. (Not much to be done about that.) The sites are all level, several pull-through, and shady. It's not fancy, but it's a nice place for families, very close to Knoebels, with a stream (with crayfish to try to catch - lots of fun for the kids), two playgrounds, and clean bathrooms. What more can you ask for? I would definitely recommend this campground. PS - not sure what rate we paid as my wonderful in-laws paid for us! We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent 4 nights here because Knoebels was booked full and it was the company picnic weekend. The staff was friendly, and it was a nice quiet campground. Made it here after dark and pretty much at the time the staff was going home. Checked in and they offered to stick around and help get us backed in if I needed it, although that wasn't necessary. Nice little stream running very close that the kids and dog played around in on the last day. The sole purpose of the trip was to spend time at the amusement park, which was less than 5 minutes away. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment though to come back to this park just to relax. We camped at J & D Campgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
