Aug 2016 - $36.00
Very well kept park. Quiet and by a nice Creek. Lady running the park is nice and helpful. The only downside is that if you are in the area for the Amish experience the park is a long way out. Going back and forth takes quite a bit of time. - FarmerDan
Aug 2016 - $32.00
Very peaceful campground. I usually stay at a site in the lower end of the campground, by the creek. Surprisingly not many bugs. The managers, husband and wife are very nice people. Well stocked store, nice price on firewood which they will deliver right to your site. There are sites up the hill and in the woods, but they are mostly seasonal campers. All in all a very nice place to relax. Will definitely be returning!!!! - slomotion039
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Pit toilets. Lower areas are nice. But sites on top of the hill are rough and have older RVs, tarps, refrigerators, ect. No on-site sewer. Seasonals are cheap, with a waiting list. But you can only come weekends, and one two week period per season. The area is scenic. Hosts are very nice. No pool. Minimal playground. Big grassy areas for kids to play. Generally clean, but needs real bathrooms. - Denial Guru
Oct 2018 - $8.00
I stay here 3-4 days per week in a tent on a primitive site. It’s very peaceful down by the river. Some of the RV spots look very tight to me, but my RV is a van so I would use a tent site even if I did sleep in my van there. I have a thousand trails zone Park pass. I think it was $450. Divided by the nights I’ve used it I’m at about $8/ night. I typically use it 6 nights per week. - MrBoondock
Jun 2018 - $1.00
Price reflects Thousand Trails membership. Campground is slowly making improvements. They are starting to try and control site usage better as in suggesting sites that better fit the size of the unit and needs. They still need to level some sites and trim some trees but, in their defense, sites become filled as fast as they empty. Sometimes it is hard to get a nice transit sites as they are holding sites to become seasonal but, in a pinch, will let transits use them. Small improvement. - DBLR
Apr 2018 - $30.00
Some sites spacious, others crowded, not level but only took couple of boards on one side. WiFi didn't work...said wrong password and staff said " it should work". Not well designed. Host building about 1/2 mile away. Pick your own site. - Marie Hodgdon
Jun 2017 - $16.00
Great check in! Very helpful and informative. Gave us brochures, maps, etc... Looked like a smaller version of a State Park. Windy steep hills to get to the park, so if you're pulling a tow vehicle, you may want to unhook. If you want to use the bathhouse, bring coins. - StephanieBekker
Nov 2016 - $65.00
We enjoyed our week there. The fellow campers are very nice. The park is clean. I have a 5th wheel and the spots were spacious and easy to get in and out. We will come again. - Nicole Vitale
Sep 2016 - $32.00
First, the management (young husband & wife) are very pleasant and accomodating but, are the only staff. The office & store are only open Fri - Sun from 10am to 9pm. Any other time, you have to ring a bell for service. There is a nice play ground, pavilion and "Game Room" but, it's only open during store hours & closed the remainder of the week. A play on the old Roger Miller song....No pool, No phone, No Internet seems to sum up this facility. There is no internet service available anywhere in the park (the office even gets their service from HughsNet). Cell phone (Sprint) is in constant roaming & spotty. OTA TV gets MAYBE 4 channels from 2 stations & only if you have an upgraded antenna booster w/wingman. Satellite service is almost impossible to tune in due to the 100 - 150 foot tall trees in all areas of the campground (dish must be on the RV or on your site only, no running cables across roads or other sites). Our particular site & patio, was very uneven and with deep ruts from rain washout (they do NOT seem to care about regrading or filling in these washouts). There are several seasonal units on the grounds & although pleasant, they all seem to stay amongst themselves.
The facility is owned by a new regional power (electric) company and while we were there, a power company employee came around taking a survey on our stay. So, maybe, some changes/upgrades will be forthcoming soon.
We probably would not stay here again. - rracer5
Nov 2015 - $17.00
Rate reflects monthly stay. The nightly rate for shorter stays is more. This is a nice campground in Lancaster County. Many of the sites are spacious and level. Sites in the wooded areas are smaller and more difficult to back into. The wifi worked well as did Verizon service. There is no cable TV but many channels come in using the antenna. The staff here are among the friendliest of any campground we've stayed at. There are multiple trails on the campground to walk, and there are two great parks within 2 miles. There are a lot of campers parked here full time with people staying here during the winter months. We were parked up on the hill which can get quite windy and cold. There are other campgrounds in the area that we've stayed at and Tucquan Park was by far our favorite in the Holtwood area. - Lori and Larry
Jul 2015 - $46.00
First off no matter what way you go in there are some nasty hills getting into this place. Getting into their driveway off the road damaged the trailer, your coming down a hill, have to go through a dip then up their driveway. The road and driveway are scarred from all the dragging trailers. Terrible design. The driveway is well pruned once you get into it. Staff were friendly. We had a pull through site which was small. They claim WIFI, my phone found it once but couldn't get on. The "new" bathhouses were disgusting. No dumpsters for recycling. Lots of seasonals and they all looked to be pretty well maintained. Managed to get out of the driveway without any additional damage and won't be going back. - ferguson65
Apr 2009 - $40.00
I camp at this park frequently and I disagree with the earlier reviews. The owners of the park are very accommodating, and this park is very family oriented. My children enjoy this park and there are many things for my children to do. the The people are friendly, restrooms are clean, park is clean. I disagree with the run down trailer park statement, camping is about being close to nature, and having a good time with friends and family, not about how something looks. If you are a true camper it doesn't matter whether you camp in a tent or a luxury motorhome, it is about family and this campground is just that! If you want luxury parks with all the bells and whistles, then maybe you should seek out the local Hilton Hotel! You will not be disappointed! - Trailblazrtracey
Aug 2017 - $30.00
Rude lady at check in, $5.00 charge for 1 hour early check in at 2p, not told that water pressure is excessive which caused a leak in our water system and a trip to have this repaired. Close sites. Site was just long enough for motorhome but the hookups were 30-40 feet away. The park, not the campground, is quite nice. - User3020
Sep 2015 - $30.00
We stayed at Muddy Run for a weekend. It is close to the Buck in Lancaster County. It is easily accessible from Route 372. The roads within the park are tight and windy. Most sites are not level. At all. The sites are tight and difficult to back into. Many sites are very short. The water and electric connections are shared with other sites. You need extension cords to access connections. There are no sewer connections and no honeywagon service. The only options for emptying tanks are to have a portable container, to call a local service for $30, or to hook up and go to the dump station. We didn't understand why people would stay there for more than a few days. The bathrooms were not clean. You will get charged if you park your car in a neighboring site, even if the campground is empty. There is a large lake but swimming is prohibited. There is no pool. There was a nice nature trail. There is a restaurant on site where we had breakfast, which wasn't bad. - Lori and Larry
Aug 2015 - $27.00
The park is very spacious, with a large lake. Sites with electric & water are limited, so call ahead to see what is available. we stayed in site 57, but also like 120. ask how far connections are, they could be 60 to 70 ft. away because they are located to service a couple site. Other than that this a very nice park. Large grocery store about 10 min. away. About 30 min. to Lancaster. - vince/chestertown
Jul 2018 - $56.00
This is a very nice CG next to Dutch Wonderland. The interior roads are paved and the sites are gravel with picnic tables. There are no amenities so the high price is due to the location. There is a little road noise mostly from truck traffic and some noise from the Dutch Wonderland. - Michael47
Jun 2018 - $62.00
Very beautiful view from river front sites. River front row of sites are level. Interior roads are one lane wide only. Beware that you may run into oncoming traffic and someone has to back up. Thus checkout is 11am and checkin is 3pm! Many beautiful trees, beware not to run into them. No place to hookup toad except on interior road blocking all traffic. Basically a very tight old campground. T-Mobile service was good. Did not try their Tengo internet. Had to mail deposit by check, very old school and inconvenient reservations process. They sold wet bundle of wood to us. - univmd
Jun 2018 - $55.00
I booked late but managed to get a decent spot. It was a pull in, not a back in. Odd, but functional. Site 303 is in the back of the campground and quite quiet. The big complaint is that all the sewer hookups were non threaded and so many had hoses just stuck in and not sealed. There was a lot of odor from them. A sewer donut works well and should be required. Dog friendly but no poop bag stations or dog park. Good cable with 46 stations. Campground is next to Dutch Wonderland and shares the entrance. There could be a long line to get in during peak season and early in the day. Entrance is directly across the street from the Tanger Outlets. An Amish wagon came through the campground in the evening selling pastries and jellies. - DebDon
Jul 2018 - $59.00
Positives about White Oak Campground: 1) Secluded location off main roadways with little traffic noise. 2) Shaded sites with many large trees. 3) Nice pool area. Negatives about White Oak Campground 1) Sites are way out of level with poorly graded approaches. We bottomed out our trailer just trying to drive into the pull through site. 2) Site utilities poorly laid out. Sewer connection was close, water spigot was at the far front of the space, electric was on the opposite side of the space. 3) Campground is cramped and crowded with lots of seasonals. We spent two nights at this campground, and it was average at best. While reasonably close to Lancaster, it is not a place we would choose to stay again. If the owners made the investment to level the sites and improve the approaches; this would be a much better place to stay. At $59 a night it is way overpriced. - Aircats
Jun 2018 - $55.00
This is a nice clean campground with friendly staff. Clean pool, newly remodeled bathrooms. Great views. Plenty to do nearby, an auction house next door and a farm down the road sells produce and baked goodies. - Labomb
Jun 2018 - $23.00
My husband and I stayed here for approximately 3 months. We were in Pennsylvania for work. The area is beautiful. Right in the heart of Amish country. Food and stores close by. Overall great location. Rates were very affordable. We paid $650 + electric monthly. Electric was a little on the expensive side, but overall fair priced. Our site wasn't too unlevel, some did say it was hard to level theirs, but they (the office) supply wood and concrete slabs if needed to help level. The campground was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly, respectful, and always willing to accommodate. I would highly recommend this campground. Our site was 30 amp, I believe they offered 50, too. - Madeline Brooks
Aug 2018 - $75.00
Sites are very very small, only enough room for a picnic table between you and the next site. Staff is very rude. Like camping in a parking lot.. Wall Mart would have been a nicer place to stay. Just my opinion. I like to have a little space. Please only use if the Wall Mart Parking lot is full - Raddad
Sep 2016 - $50.00
Nice quaint little RV park next to a farm. It has some historical significance as there is a mill and a wooden bridge on the property.
No asphalt, just dirt roads...so its dusty on dry days.
There is a creek that runs on two sides of the park and the sites are big enough where you can sit outside and enjoy the water.
People are very pleasant and there are work/stay programs here.
Not enough 50 amp sites but plenty of 30 amp sites.
Off RT 30 and secluded enough to enjoy the quiet. - Dmann1
Aug 2016 - $43.00
This is a small campground located right next to a farm. Sites are level with dirt/gravel pads. Our electric and water hookups were on the opposite side of our rv, but we were able to position it so that our 25 foot electric cord would reach. There is a creek that runs past one side of the campground and fishing is allowed. Staff is friendly and helpful. - JC06
Aug 2018 - $60.00
Good location for area attractions. The campground is congested and the sites are all back-ins. Parking is difficult at times. But for the most part it is a quiet park adjacent to Amish farmland. - NYKnappers
Aug 2018 - $55.00
This is a small but immaculately kept park just one street off Hwy. 30 and very convenient to local sites. YES the sites are close together and YES they are strong on rules. We liked that because it helps keep the park a nice neat and quiet place to stay. Though we don't use the restrooms at parks, It had the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen. The owners were very gracious and helpful. They suggested that we be good "backer in types", which we are and had no trouble parking our 45' rig. If you have kids, I would suggest going to a larger park with more amenities for kiddos. There is not much space to walk the dog but presented NO problems. There are a lot of trees so you may not get satellite. Cable is available but it may be an additional charge. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! - blumarlin
Jun 2018 - $50.00
Sites are very close. No campfires. Sites were muddy after a rain. We were backed up to a broken wooden fence which separated the site from an Amish farm. Campground is centrally located in the Amish countryside. AT&T as well as T-Mobile cell service both worked fine. Uber is available in the area and we used them to get around. No Pool. Many seasonal sites with people returning to their trailers in the late afternoon. Not really a family type atmosphere. Don't think we will return here. Owners very pleasant. - Zman1403
Aug 2018 - $60.00
Lots of room for big rigs, but the sites go fast, so book early. This is one of the nicest parks in the Lancaster area. They have a beautiful pool and another nice new restroom building. - NYKnappers
Aug 2018 - $56.00
This is our go to park when in the area. Very clean, grounds well maintained. Site level. Small trees on site. We stayed in a back-in site in the front part of the campground, corn field behind us. Only complaint is the WiFi way not good. We could get on but when tried to go to a web site, it just kept searching. I went to the office and told a gentleman, he was surprised about this but nothing changed the 10 days we were there. We will stay again on our return trip. We stayed 10 days. - milodog
Aug 2018 - $51.00
Beautiful campground. Extremely clean and well maintained. Their bathrooms are the cleanest we've ever had. Nice roomy showers with great water pressure. The pool and deck were spotless too. The sites are a little small and narrow. Big enough to use slide outs & awnings, but had to park our tow vehicle across the front of site along the road. This was our second stay here and we will definitely be going back - The Deckers
