If you love rules, you will love this park. Perhaps the first indication is a huge sign posted on the side of a building at the entrance: "GO SLOW OR GO AWAY!" There literally was a 5 MPH speed limit sign in front of every campsite. Most of the tenants were long term, but the grounds were clean and neat. Large signs beginning with "NO" listed rule after rule. They were posted everywhere. The family-run park is grass and gravel, with ancient bath houses and a pavilion which could all use an updating. Sites range from spacious to narrow. There are many tent sites in beautifully wooded areas. Our site was very close to our neighbor and not particularly level. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay at Crawfords. It is a clean and quiet campground. Wifi is not very good. If you walk near the campground office it is. Our connectivity with TMobile was nil. The neighbors had Verizon with 3 bars. We have stayed multiple times, and would stay again. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

On PA-51, about 6 miles from the Ohio border. Turn east/south at the blinking yellow light onto OH-168, Salem Church Road then about .8 mile, turn right on Hodgson Road, then .8 mile and left into the CG.

Weekly rate $170; monthly $380. No credit/debit cards accepted; cash or check only. All electric is metered, even for daily visits ($0.11/kwh). One employee who is very friendly and helpful. Municipal access roads are sufficiently wide, maintained, asphalt but lots of ups-and-downs. Watch for one low-hanging tree on Hodgson Road. Internal roads are gravel, somewhat narrow with no overhead obstacles.

A variety of sites which are grass/gravel with mowed lawns and occasional tall trees. A few sites have patios; most have picnic tables. All sites are FHU-20/30/50, level with pedestal at the road end of the sites. Sufficient clear sky for satellite antennas. No cable TV. Fires permitted in fire rings. Well water has low, but adequate pressure and okay taste. No office store. No propane sales. Restrooms/showers are old but clean with newer fixtures but minimal privacy (score "B-"). No laundry.

Spacious, grass playground. Very nice, unheated, salt water pool. No spa. Free Wi-Fi but internet access is weak and unreliable. Verizon coverage is dismal at "½ bar." CG is in the country and is very quiet. No recycling bins. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for 4 days visiting relatives in the area. The campground was nice and neat. We got a shaded, pull-in site. Many of the RVs seemed as if they were seasonals and were empty. Check in was fine and the campground was easy to find and access. They only accept cash or checks, so happy we remembered the checkbook. There was a nice playground; the kids enjoyed that quite a bit. The owner lady knocked on our RV to remind us that the pool was open, but we were busy with relatives. It was nice she thought about the kids. At checkout (we were trying to leave at 9am), no one was in the office or adjacent trailer so had to call the owner's phone. Wanted someone to come read the electricity meter, but could not get a hold of anyone. Finally, at departure time, as we were pulling out, we ran into one of the attendants and he read the meter. There was no delay afterall, but didn't like that I couldn't find anyone initially. (Only $9 for 4 days for electricity.) Overall, good experience & would stay here again when visiting family in Beaver.

Initially, I was concerned about the other negative reviews and questioned booking here, but turned out fine and it was convenient. There were RULES posted rather excessively (no rugs or anything on grass, etc) around the campground, but we experienced no issues or tongue-lashings; think they just take pride in their campground. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here with a travel trailer and a tent. They are very unorganized and kept moving us to different sites. They don't want anything on their grass. The owners are not friendly and yelled when our truck went in the grass to make the turn into our spot. They have a swing on the playground that is apparently for handicapped kids although there is nothing indicating that. I was swinging my daughter in it and the owner came over and told me to get her out because he paid too much money for her to ruin it. They charge you extra for your electric usage on top of your nightly fee. There are no activities except bingo and there is one bath house at the front of the park. I would not camp there again. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice quiet park, with a sandbox and play area for kids. Nice pool but only open for a few hours. Owner is not very friendly but over all an average, private campground. There is a nice park down the road with a little lake, beach, and a dog park. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Tent Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We started camping at this park in June 06. At first, the people were nice, and the park is always clean. However, most of people at this campground are related and do not take kind to outsiders. The bingo callers grandkids love to cuss and pick fights. The oldest is about 12 and the little girl is 5. DO NOT CAMP HERE IF YOU HAVE A CHILD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. I would not recommend this campground to my worst enemy. The owners only believe their family and you cannot dispute what they say. If you have a dog that the owner does not like, you're gone. They like to find reasons to make your stay miserable. This campground is not worth your time or aggravation unless you like listening to little kids cuss and like your kids to get into fights. Good luck! We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very nice stopping place on our trip East. The campground was very clean, very easy to maneuver a rig through. The people were very friendly. The only drawback was the showers didn't have private dressing rooms attatched. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Motorhome.

Pros: Campground was neat and well-kept. Pool was clean. Owners were extremely friendly. Cons: Seasonals had preferred sites (larger and in shady areas). Sites are not overly large and hook-ups for short-term sites were configured in such a way that one site was a back-in and the site next door was a pull-in. Thus, the awning sides of two "neighbors" faced each other. This cut down on privacy a lot. I wouldn't make this a destination campground; but if you're visiting in the area, it's definitely worth staying at for a night or two. We camped at Crawford's Camping Park in a Motorhome.
