Campground is off the main road enough so the traffic noise is minimum, all utilities were fine. Cable had about 12 channels, most were religious, and repeated many times. WIFI was poor. We had a back in site, luckily the pull thru across from us was empty, so we pulled into it and then backed our 42 foot 5th wheel into our site, otherwise, it would have been a challenge. Most folks in the campground were workers working on the pipe line, so lots of trucks leaving around 6AM every day. Campground is centrally located for train watching, and the slinky factory is a couple of miles down the road. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Watch such side of the road your GPS tells you the campground is on. One side is the convention center and across the street is the campground. It's a little hard to see it. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Worst campground we've been to. Much too tight to maneuver getting into your site. One of the owners greeted (if you could call it that) me upon arrival and was rude and abrasive. She was quite upset that we didn't see their signs for check-in, which were located on their storage units (in front of the campground) and not at the campground. It was raining like crazy and we drove straight back to the campground sign. I gave it two stars for the location because it's convenient to everything. That's the only positive. WiFi would cut out frequently. Power & sewer were situated too far apart. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very nicely maintained facility with a railroad (PRR) motif (the office/store has trains on display as well). Gravel roads and sites, with fairly level sites (campground is on a gentle downhill slope). Campground abuts a private lane with several houses, and is located about 300 yards off of Plank Road (major 4 lane road between Altoona and Hollidaysburg), road noise is minimal. Owners live on-site and will assist in pulling in (sites are tight, and the owners know where the wells/sewer lines are so they can guide you as to what grass [yes, there's actually grass] you an drive on). Laundry available, although we did not use it ($1.25 per machine). The owners host monthly socials (we were a week late for the May event), check their website. We stayed during Memorial Day weekend (5/25 through 5/30) in a 32' Class A with a 14' toad w/tow dolly and everything fit easily on the site (we did disconnect the toad at the WalMart/Sams just up the road before arrival). We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Campground is located within walking distance to a WalMart/Sams, a Primanti Brothers, and within a short drive of other restaurants/stores (I recommend the Prime Sirlion Buffet [~1.5 miles] for an AYCE breakfast buffet on the weekends [Fri - Sun]). Easy access to/from I-99 via Plank Road. The Logan Valley Mall is right at the I-99 exit. Not too far away from the Benzel's Pretzel factory store, the Boyer Candy [Mallo Cup] factory store, world famous Horseshoe Curve, Railroader's Memorial Museum, Altoona Curve stadium (minor league baseball), Lakemont Park, and a short [~ 1 hour] ride to the Flight 93 National Memorial.

This is a gem of a facility in an area where there is much to do, but no CGs.

When I discovered this place in my research, I called and like our check in, the owner / staff were very helpful.

The only problem is the place is very small and is not designed for big rigs. Our 37' A is probably the limit and there are only 2 to 4 sites that might accommodate you. It's a tight turn past the storage facility up the hill from the office. No toads.

We had site #2. Not much room but it was dead level. Good utilities and cable.

This CG is very well suited for C, B and TT units. Smaller 5'vrs but not the big units.

The access is hidden / shares a drive with a storage facility (their business too) and a car wash. It's at red light which is valuable in this traffic corridor. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Very tight layout of the park. If you need to unhook tow vehicle, do it before entering campground near storage units. Lady in the office never suggested it. Hilly park. Probably wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Quaint and well groomed RV park. Everyone including owners were very hospitable. Nice model train museum in the office. Wi-Fi was speedy and spot on. Every type of shopping was available, Field and Stream, Walmart, Target, Sally's Beauty, to name only a few. No problem leveling our trailer with levelers we always carry. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We've been in better parks but also worse. It is close to interstate 99 and served our purpose for a weekend. The staff and owner were friendly and accommodating. My largest complaint is there are very few level sites. With some effort, this could be corrected. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Small campground close to everything. CG is behind a self storage area on a narrow, dusty gravel road. The CG is the only acceptable CG in the Altoona area.
Most sites are NOT level. Wi-fi works but signal is weak. Cable is available and provides analog and digital channels. Satellite signal can be received in lower numbered sites that aren't blocked by trees. Little road noise except from the neighborhood next to the CG. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Internet works great and fast from the pavilion down to the office. It will fade as you go uphill. Yes, the campground is up hill. Rates vary with cable, sewer etc. add on. There are a lot of seasonals. Sites are all on stone. Bring blocks and wedges. You will need them. Campground staff is friendly and welcoming. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the best parks I've found. As full-timers we don't need a lot of activitities for the kids or a flashy resort. This campgound is relatively small, but I had no problem getting my 40' fifth wheel in or out of a space. The owners who live onsite could not have been nicer. All the utilities worked well. The sewer hookup was simple and ran directly from my trailer to the inlet. Perhaps some campers need to familiarize themselves with donuts and other new fangled sewer components. I would have rated the campground a 10, but the advertised wifi was useless. Although, I have come to expect useless wifi from campgrounds. The campgournd is an easy on/off from I-99. Shopping is almost at your doorstep. Easy access to Altoona, Johnstown & State College. I would definetely return to Wrights Orchard Station if ever in the area again. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was well past its prime. The camping area is on a hillside, with narrow roadways and turns. The sites are small, unlevel and difficult to back into. Wi-fi was nonexistent at our site. For the price, we expected more. We would only stay here again if there were no other choices. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Quiet little campground right in town. Most sites are back-in, but there is a short row of pull-throughs in the center (these have 30 amp service). Sites are level, some are best for smaller vehicles. Lots of trees provide nice shade. A small camp store and a laundry room are on site. No other amenities. Restrooms very clean. Wi-Fi is good. Strong cellular coverage (AT&T, Verizon). Owners are very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean baths, and our site was level. But this camp is up a hill, behind businesses, and it seems more of a trailer park than a campground; lots of permanent residents. We camped at Wright's Orchard Station Campground in a Motorhome.
