Here is what I liked: The campground is for the most part clean. The bathrooms were okay. There are a lot of activities. The campers on sites are well maintained. The spots are generally level. There was an issue at checkin, and thus the low rating. The person who was checking us in (a middle aged balding man), was dismissive and condescending. I can understand that it's a Friday night and I am sure you would rather be doing something than working in a campground, but don't take it out on me. In 10 years of camping, it was was about the worst experience we have had checking into a campground. It did not leave me with a favorable impression of the campground. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We loved this campground! The facilities offer many options with lots to do. Everything is very well maintained and serviced. The sites are very wooded with LOTS of room. We stayed a week at Otter Lake with still wanting more. If you want shady, wooded sites, this is the place. The layout of the campground is excellent. There are many many trees, but the sites are easy to navigate. We enjoyed walking our dog along the lake. On the downside, the Internet was spotty. There are lots of access points, but the service is very, very slow, which causes many drops. We ended up using our Verizon connection. There are no stores in the area, so arrive well-stocked. We wanted rustic and secluded, so this was the place. We would come back again and again. Our 31 ft RV has slides on both sides. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very clean and well managed RV park. Everything that we expected when we made the reservation was provided. The roads through out the RV park are paved and easy to maneuver with a large RV. Most of the roads getting to the RV park are narrow windy and bumpy. Our gravel site (LF7) was level and large enough to fit our 32ft motorhome, tow dolly and car and still have plenty of room to enjoy the mostly shady site right on the lake. The catch and release fishing was good right from our site and no fishing license is required. All of the hookups W/E/S are conveniently located and the WIFI and cable TV worked well. The store was well stocked and the many restrooms through out the park were clean. The trail around the lake is easy to walk and offers many spots to fish or just sit and relax on the park benches by the lake. Otter Lake is a great lake for small boats, kayaks and canoes. The Peacocks were a bit noisy around 5AM when most people are still sleeping or trying to enjoy a quiet morning. The two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) looked well maintained but we didn't use them. The beach is small and great for young children. It was good to see the owner and/or staff touring the entire RV park several times a day to check for any problems and talk to the campers. We really enjoyed our stay at Otter Lake and I would highly recommend this RV park to anyone with children who need lots of activities or adults who just want to relax by a beautiful lake. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

First of all, to reach this campground you have to travel 7 miles down Marshall Creek Road. It is a winding, 2 lane country road. Do-able but slow going, especially if you are 65 feet long like we are with our coach & towed. The campground itself is beautiful. Heavily treed but easy to maneuver around. Our site was plenty big and all the utilities worked well, with the exception of the Wi-Fi, which was spotty at best. Cable has a good variety of channels which was nice, as there was no way our roof mounted satellite could have connected (portable ones will probably have difficulty as well as there is very little open area). It rained, heavily, while we were here and we had no problems with standing water, etc. We had limited connectivity with our cell phones on Verizon service. This is really a destination park for families to enjoy all the amenities not really one to use if passing through or for sightseeing in the local area. Because we are two adults who fulltime I doubt we would stay here again. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites were very large and not on top of each other. Shower was clean, push button water that kept shutting off. Pool was well maintained but could have been warmer since advertised as heated pool. Beautifully kept lake. Used the paddle boats and they were extremely reasonable. Great overall campground. One of my favorites. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Clean campground with friendly staff, well stocked camp store, lots of activities for kids. Huge lake with a small beach. Bring your glove for evening softball games. We were unable to get an AT&T cell signal in H loop and had difficulty connecting to wifi in that area. Able to easily connect to wifi in other areas of campground. Security rounds frequently. Quiet dogs are welcome per literature, however they need to be more mindful & address problem pets. Would recommend and camp here again. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great place for families. Lots to do, which is nice since it is pretty far from anything. This is the second time we camped here. It is clean, the spaces are large, and there are full hookups in most sites and water/electric in others. Very well kept and peaceful. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

The camp store is surprisingly well stocked and had accessible hours. There are several planned activities every week; some do cost extra. This is a huge campground spread out around half the lake. There is even a softball field.

As always, a very enjoyable trip. Road to the campground can be adventoureous, but take your time and its no problem. Probably the best campground wifi I've ever seen, and it's free. Lots of activities and the store has all the basics and more. Excellent bike riding. We have kayaks now, so we can't wait till our next trip there. Kicked off the 2016 Camping Season for us over Easter weekend staying at Otter Lake for the first time.
We stayed in site LF10 which was conveniently located near the front of the campground; just off the main road. Site was adequate width with a near level gravel base. Site had great access to the lake and would be great for fishing. Tree branches did block any satellite signals; however with the campground cable we were able to receive over 70 channels. Hookups were mid site and very convenient. Verizon Wireless signal was not excellent but manageable. Campground had a few activities that the kids enjoyed for the weekend, such as indoor pool (which is a decent walk from the this site, but was worth it) firetruck rides, and Easter related events as well.
We will definitely make a return trip to Otter Lake in the future! We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

As others have mentioned in their own reviews the 7 mile road you take in is quite the adventure, however even with an almost 35' motorhome I was able to traverse it (although I am sure there are a few locals who got stuck behind me who weren't to happy)

This is my favorite Poconos campground by far. It's a little more expensive . But, we have stayed in more expensive parks that simply do not compare to Otter Lake. Wooded with good size lots. There is a lot to do here and the lake is beautiful.

Open year round and they keep the water on a long as the weather holds. The water was on 2nd weekend of November. Call ahead and be prepared.

Our neighbors were first time winter campers, planning to snowmobile. Reportedly there are trails nearby.

Very clean restrooms and showers.

Backing your camper into a spot can be tricky, with so many trees and large buried boulders about. Ask the front desk what is the best direction to approach your site for easier maneuvering.

Sites are level with small gravel. There are seasonals. All appear well kept and Otter Lake does not feel like a trailer park. It feels like the resort campground that it is supposed to be.

We didn't use it, but the heated indoor pool (open year-round) looks really nice.

There is actually cell phone service (2 bars-Verizon LTE) and their WiFi is free and is the best that we have experienced. It just works without any annoying passwords or pop-ups. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is so much to do here. Plan ahead and don't go anywhere...or do the typical touristy Poconos stuff. Beware traffic on Rte 209. During the busy season, there can be traffic jams. So, leave early for your day trips.

The same applies for Rte 611 near the Outlet stores off of I-80. Plan for traffic during the busy season.

It is a lovely park with great facilities. However, most sites we have stayed on over the years allowed 4 people per site in the cost. They charge for over 2 people which I could not find on their website. We also had a very bad experience with the sewer. When we arrived we heard a camper complain that their tank was full. We didn't think much of it until the 3rd day of our 5 day stay. We noticed a bad odor when we used the water. On the 4th day we noticed that water was "bubbling up" under the camper whenever we ran the water, so my husband took the cap off the sewer and it was clear to the top. We left a day early. I stopped at the office on the way out and told them of the issue and we were offered another site, but by that point our rug and everything we had stored under the camper was covered in sewer water and we just wanted to get home and clean everything. Re-setting back up was not an attractive alternative. We were never offered any sort of refund. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here in a 32 foot fifth wheel. We were able to use the Marshall Creek Road due to bridge being repaired. It is a narrow, winding, 7 mile, two lane road with no shoulder on either side and lots of pot holes; so take your time and be careful and you will be fine. Look for a sign for the campground 1000 feet from the entrance which will be on your left. We stayed on lot c-11 and we were very happy with this location. Our site was wide and spacious but we did have to level our RV. All sites seemed to be very spacious. All roads are paved and the sites are gravel. It rained for two days while we were here and there was no standing water= good drainage. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned every morning. The showers are two rooms (shower/changing room) showers are very small. It is tight if you shower with a youngster and you have to keep pushing a button to turn on the water. I did notice a handicapped shower in another area. There are two laundry rooms with an adequate number of washers and dryers, they looked new and were all in working order. Laundry room was very clean. They have lots of activities, such as ceramics and archery, magic shows, movies, music and more. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Seasonal campers are friendly and a good resource as we met someone who had been camping there for 27 years. No golf carts are allowed, so bring your bike this is a huge campground and it was very busy when we were here. There are no life guards, however they do have people to enforce the rules, as my kids learned some enforcers are more lenient than others, but it is necessary to make sure rules are enforced and I was happy to have them there. The pools were more popular than the beach, but the beach looked nice. We chose to go to the Poconos to get away from the Maryland heat and we were not disappointed. We would definitely go here again as we were not able to see and do everything that we wanted to do in the area. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Spent 6 nights, 7 days at Otter Lake Campground. You definitely want to arrive in daylight as the road in is a narrow two lane, curvy, hilly, no shoulder road with deer. Once here the Lake immediately grabs your eye, pristine and gorgeous. Check in was smooth, only issue (and it is becoming a trend among campgrounds) is that the site includes only two adults, each child is an additional $6/day; that adds up quickly.

Sites are clean and well shaded, the campground roads are paved. Bathrooms were cleaned well and shower rooms were too. Only thing my wife disliked was the showers work on a pressure release button so you have to keep pushing to keep the water coming.

Two pools, one indoor, another outdoor (with diving board and slide). Lake swimming and canoe rentals ($6.50/hr for up to 4 people). Bring your tennis rackets or racket ball equipment as they have two outdoor, well lit racquetball a courts and four tennis courts.

Bikes are a must for enjoyable riding throughout the large park.

***Security vehicles drive around throughout the evening until midnight, very often, very safe for the little ones*** We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The road in to this campground is narrow, windy, and straight up for 7 miles. I honestly didn't think we were going to make it. There is no shoulder so we couldn't even pull over to disconnect the car or let all of the vehicles behind us pass. When we checked in, I commented to the staff that they should tell people when they are booking motorhome sites that the road in is not motorhome friendly. I was informed that there was a better route than what comes up on GPS. We traveled that road for the few days we were there and it was much better. Why wouldn't you alert people to this either on the website or when someone books a site. Lesson learned though - I will always ask when booking a site at any campground if there are any travel concerns or GPS warnings. Once there, we had trouble getting to our site because of unattended children on bikes purposely riding in front of us and even leaving a bike in the middle of the road. This is a nice campground with large sites, but could use some updating. If we decide to go back to the area, I think we will choose a different campground. We camped at Otter Lake Camp Resort in a Motorhome.
