Big park with lots of spots. Has three bath houses. Went during the fall, so the pool was closed. Gated entrance which they close at night. Need a code to enter after hours. Went to East Stroudsburg to the Escape Room and had fun. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here to start our winter escape from New England. As Thousand Trails members our site we free. There were a fairly large number of sites to pick from and they were plenty long. However several park roads were very tight for maneuvering our 43' fifth wheel. We were saddened that the attendant in the office at the time of our visit was less than helpful. All in all, we'll stay here again on our return. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a large campground with plenty of nice, full-hookup, 50 amp sites. The roads are all paved and wide enough for RVs. There are many pull-through spots as well as a great number of back-in sites around the parameter. Generally speaking, the campsites are plenty long enough for even the biggest rigs. While they aren't exactly on top of each other, the sites are pretty close side to side. Many big rigs head for the "top" where there is plenty maneuvering room and no trees to block rooftop satellite dish usage. The pool is a nice one and well used, especially on the weekends. While the restrooms in the Activity/Store building are nice and well-kept I was disappointed in the condition of the others. They were worn and often in need of cleaning. My Verizon data was slow but usable most of the time. However, we opted to pay for campground WiFi for the week. It was fast and reliable. Also, I was able to get my Dish satellite signal with no problem. While there are plenty of campsites, it should be noted that a lot of sites have been taken by seasonal campers. The drive in (and up) from Hwy 209 merits a mention. The roads, Winona Falls and then Timothy Lake are narrow and pretty steep. When coming in pay particular attention when turning off of Winona Falls onto Timothy Lake. Oncoming traffic on Winona Falls isn't visible until you are right at the the left hand turn. That traffic doesn't have a stop sign. When leaving the campground that same intersection puts you at the bottom of a steep hill, requiring a full stop before turning right onto Winona Falls. In other words, keep your transmission in a low gear and keep your speed way down. Then, be sure you can see traffic coming from your left before committing to the right hand turn. Having said all that, I don't want to scare anyone about coming to this campground. The route in is only 3 miles and literally thousands of RV's have made the trip in. This is a nice place and we look forward coming back. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.

Roads into the campground are VERY STEEP. 34 foot motor home pulling a CRV. Employees very helpful. Most sites are pull throughs. Fairly level sites. No OTA TV. Pay for internet and cable. Internet very unreliable--had to sign in every time turned the computer/laptop and I-Pad on. Cable TV very snowy picture. Thousand Trails member. Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three nights in our camper and I was surprised to see how pricey this campground is compared to some similar campgrounds in the area. It cost us about $80 a night plus another $7 per night for cable tv and wifi. Other campgrounds in the area charge about $50 to 60 a night. If you want wood for a campfire, its $7.50 for a small bundle as compared to about $6.00 for nearby campgrounds. I have nothing against $87 a night for a campground and have paid that rate in the past, but there is nothing special in this campground that justifies it. The few positives that I have about it are that the roads are wide and paved, all hookups are full hookups and the staff is friendly. The negatives are: -If you are not a "Thousand Trails" member, you cannot reserve a space ahead of time. When you check in, you are given a list of open spaces and have to drive around to find the best space. It was comical seeing people drive around repeatedly, trying to find spaces. -The spaces are close together. Looking down the road, I thought I was looking at an RV dealer's lot, because of how close people were together. Besides a pool, there were not that many other amenities. I was also disappointed that our site was not clean. The fire pit has the remains of a previous fire in it and the grill still had someone else's coals in it. (Don't worry, even though I didn't use either one, I cleaned them before I left). We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

Having stayed in Thousand Trails park from Washington State to Massachusetts this is our favorite. Entrance and registration are easy with a large parking area for check in. Roads are well marked and wide enough, sites were reasonably level with treed and open areas available. If all TT locations were as user friendly as this I would be willing to pay considerably more than the current rate. Unfortunately, most are remnants of when my parents were members decades ago and it shows. Didn't use the amenities too much; mainly explored the surrounding area. Had an awful time getting to the park as our tow vehicle broke down about 10 miles away. Figuring we wouldn't make it, called and cancelled and they were kind enough to transfer our $$ to another weekend. We waited on the side of the road for 6 hours for good sam and finally gave up at 8:30pm and tried to push our truck at 5mph. We actually made it. They welcomed us at around 9pm, told us to pick a site and come and register in the morning. The following day we had a visit from the park sale manager offering us a membership. We were really wary as we had no idea what our truck was going to cost. Had that not happened, we would've signed right up. He, as well as the whole desk staff, we're EXTREMELY kind and even allowed us to stay (late) until we could get a friend to pick up the trailer while AAA picked up the truck. I would definitely return. Pool was nice. I like it a little warmer but it was not cold like others have been. Had a singer/guitarist in the evening by the pool. Great lounge. A lot of seasonals have great lights at night and well kept lawns. At night, looks like Christmas! Never did make it to THN but will check it out next time. Very close to Bushkill Falls which was nice. Highly recommend! (Fee was nightly rate plus one extra adult) We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly check in, clean grounds. A fair seasonal contingent and some weren't too nice looking, but overall very nice park. Office staff very friendly and accommodating with receiving mail/packages as full timers. Used pay WiFi (Fastwave) for $24.95/2 weeks and it was steady and reliable at 3MB down and .5MB up (tested several times, always consistent). Also did the cable TV at $18/week but only 40 channels and proprietary so no TV guide of any type. Saw several deer in the park. Roads leading to park are tight and winding with a 41'DP and Jeep in tow but OK. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Some of the wooded spaces are a little narrow for a modern RV with slides. There is ample room to correct this but it has not been done. There are a fair number of open spaces for those who want satellite reception. Water pressure is low. Our site was level. Some are not. There is a nice pool but the lounge is not open except when the store is open. Road to the park is winding and hilly. Verizon reception is two bar 4G. Well less than half the spaces are annual so there is plenty of choice for the traveler. All sites are full hookup 50 amp. Cable and wifi are available for a fee. Interior roads are paved. However there are a few potholes that need patching. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Outstanding customer service! Park is heavily tree'd, so satellite reception was difficult in many sites. Paved roads, with Gravel or grass sites. Major shopping 5-7 miles away. Close to Pa. state line.

Would definitely stay here again!

We had an excellent site by the restrooms. The Activity Center was inside the office/store area, so was inaccessible after hours, which is when we wanted to watch TV. There are many seasonal campers here but most keep the sites well maintained. Smoke from other campsites were sometimes a problem but only when air was still. Restrooms were cleaned regularly but not very thoroughly. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Tent Trailer.

Very nice campground, great staff, nice sites but some could be wider, tree trimming would be nice to help a lot of sites. All hook ups worked great, place very clean, looks like rules enforced. One of the better TT Outdoor World parks I have been to, must be a popular one. No tv but cable available ($). Some sites out in the open good for folks needing satellite viewing, on a clear night the view of the stars was wonderful. Maybe this staff should give lessons to the other parks in the TT system on how to run a campground, they do a wonderful job here, will return. The nightly rate is reflective of our Thousand Trails membership. We stayed here in a 42' rig. Although we had reservations, Thousand Trails policy is a first-come, first-served system. That said, when we checked in, we had to drive around the large park with rig in tow to find an adequate site for our length. Cable is an extra daily charge but there is no TV signal so we signed up. Beautifully kept park, staff not too friendly but we would return as it is a beautiful area in close proximity to the Delaware Gap National Recreation Area with many hiking/biking trails and lots to see. Nightly rate reflects Passport America. Driving directions on the web site are old and need updating. Was about 10 traffic lights, not 7, from I-80 on Rt 209. Winona Falls Rd from Rt 209 to campground is very winding and there are a lot of deer around, so go slow. Campground registration is open late on Fri and Sat, but Sun - Thurs they close at 5. Not very good hours, IMO. No assigned sites. You arrive, get a map of available sites at the registration desk, then pick a site and go back to finish registering. Desk clerk had no info on site lengths, so you just have to drive around to find one that fits. Back-ins and pull-throughs are available. Some are more level than others. Cable and Wi-Fi are pay-to-use for about $4 each per day. Wi-Fi can be signed up for online after you get settled on your site. Cable is purchased at a kiosk in the registration office, so if the office is closed you're out of luck until the next day. Using the washers and dryers is pricey. This place could use a nice fenced in doggie play area. We camped at Timothy Lake Campground South - Thousand Trails in a Fifth Wheel.
