We stayed in the 400 circle. Very open and good for satellite reception. We thought we were going to have a satellite that's why we requested it. the site was fairly level, not crowded, pull through and open. it was 90-95 each day and VERY HOT, can't blame the campground on that :) The AC's were cranking and we never lost power. The water pressure was good. Had free wifi and was good enough that I could tap into NBC on my PC and stream the shows. We were told that in that area you could get ABC and a few channels with the antennae, but we didn't try. We had a horse pasture between our area and the other part of the campground. There were no short cuts to the pool/store so you must drive or have a bike. the walk was approx 1/4 -1/2 mile . Pool was 4ft deep but satisfied us. The store was nice had souveniers as well as some RV stuff. Other pull throughs were closer and some in the shade. Will go back but will request a site in the shade. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We visited the Gettysburg Battlefield. The campground also gave us 3 tickets to local attractions. We ate at Li's Buffet. Basic chinese buffet. Also had ice cream at Friendlys.

Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly and generally helpful. However, the sites are literally on top of each other. The site we were assigned (E79) wasn't particularly level and had no shade what-so-ever. It was also right behind the main dumpster. At least while we were there, the campground was packed on the weekend. The camp store was well-stocked and useful. Good game room and playground for the kids, as well as a pool (didn't use it, but it seemed nice). Not a bad location for visiting Gettysburg, but we will likely check out other options on a return trip to the area. On a related note, we do not recommend the "Spirit of Gettysburg" attraction for which the campground gives free tickets. We thought the "fun house" approach to an event in which thousands of men died (Picket's Charge) was offensive to the memory of those soldiers on both sides who gave all. On the other hand, we HIGHLY recommend hiring one of the licensed battlefield guides for a personal tour of Gettysburg. The cost for our entire family to have a personal guide was less than the cost of going on a group tour. The tour was a highlight of our trip. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff very friendly and provided a great deal of information about the area. Especially useful was time required for the various venues. Used Passport America, $30/night included tax. Pool was spotless. Store seemed complete. Sites are fairly tight, typical of an older campground. But we got our bus conversion in the site without a problem. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Arrived in rain. CG couldn't help this. Said could accommodate big rigs. Put 8 Big Rigs in lower mud hole. New owners have had it for 6 years with no improvements. Area is full of pot holes filled with water. If get even slightly off gravel, you'll be in mud or stuck. Some places small gravel dumped but not packed so RV sunk into gravel holes. Worst CG have been in in some 20 yrs of RVing. Will not return. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Close to Gettysburg, yes. Quality campground, no. Busy place, fortunately our site was in a remote area, so we only had to drive through the chaotic area. A bit run down with gravel sites, no trees so no shade, but allows for satellite. WiFi advertised but did not work. If we should visit again, we'd checkout other campgrounds; if necessary we would stay here again. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't fall for the adjoining horse back tour of Gettysburg. It was NOT good, we followed with a personal guided tour in our car from the National Park Service for 1/3 the cost and actually saw and learned about the Battlefield.

My wife, myself, and our dog stopped at this campsite due to closeness to Gettysburg battlefield, museums, and overall history of area. We have been to this campground before and very much enjoy there amenities. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. They have a boarding stable for horses while traveling. We stayed four nights in a pull thru site with full hook up along with Wi-Fi, cable TV, fire ring, and picnic table. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 2 nights. Site 45 has not quite long enough with toad hooked up. Sites in this section are not super-level but was able to level with jacks. Much of the park is in trees. This area is in the open and good if you have a satellite antenna. Staff inquired about that when I called, which I thought was great service. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is an excellent jumping off point for the Gettysburg Battlefield and the town. Can also arrange a horseback trip to the Battlefield. You will get free tickets to the Diarama which you MUST see before you tour the battlefield. Can also get an audio tour book which is very nice. A bit expensive but worth it if you are wanting to really understand the battle of Gettysburg, the turning point in the U.S. Civil War.

We stayed at Artillery Ridge for the first time over Easter Weekend. It was very close to the battlegrounds which was nice. The over all campground seemed nice. It was rather quiet for spring break, but we were ok it. The campground staff were super friendly. When we checked in our original site was kind of swampy due to the recent melting snow, and they immediately offered up 3 other full hook-up, pull thru sites we could move to. This was done with out me even asking in to move, so I thought that was very nice. The store was well stocked and had a nice variety of selections. We were right next to the entrance, but it didn't bother us at all. Everyone seemed to abide by the speed limit. The sites were rather close together, but again it wasn't bad. We've been to campgrounds where you literally were on top of each other. We walked around the whole campground and found it to be rather charming, the further you got away from the entrance. Watching the horses gallop around the fields was fun, although our dog was less than interested in it. The only complaint I could see was more enforcement of the leash rules. A couple of times people had their dogs out without a leash, which made it more of a chore for us to monitor our dog. Other than that we had a good time. We'd come back again. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

You can't get any closer to the battlefields than this! As soon as you pull out of the driveway you begin to see monuments, original buildings and battlefields. This is a nice park and we would come back. We had plenty of room on either side of us and utilities were well located and worked fine. A Wifi repeater was just outside our back window so we had great Wifi. The Verizon signal was 4G with 3 and 4 bars. Don't know about cable because we have a dish. The only problem was it is hard to clearly see the boundaries of your site because of the leaves falling from the trees (October). Our site was almost level - had to raise one side a couple of inches. Can't complain about that! I have my own washer & dryer but used their larger one to wash a bedspread. The equipment was great - large capacity and not too old. However, the laundry room wasn't the cleanest I have ever seen. It wasn't 'dirty', but it was messy. The office people were great and very helpful. There are sunny spots and shady spots. If you prefer one over the other make sure you tell them when you make the reservation. Near our site (just behind us) were a couple of trailers that are homesteaders. 2 of them were rather junky, unsightly and initially turned us off. As it was, no one was staying in them while we were here so we didn't let it bother us. We really enjoyed our visit to Gettysburg (a week) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this park. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was a little crowded in the front but the overflow site we were in was spacious. The road are a bit narrow for a big rig but we got through. A bit dusty from all the horses in the corral next to the sites but not really a problem. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

The location near downtown and the Gettysburg Battlefield is good, but the value for the service rendered was poor. No cable, weak WiFi, and marginal Verizon Wireless connection. Fire pit was a truck tire rim, the campsite was sloped and required 3" of correction to level the RV. Playground, miniature golf, pool on site. We stayed 7 Nights which included Labor Day Monday. We obtained 4 nights with PA discount and 3 nights with GS discount. Total paid was $296.73 or $42.39/avg. You will be asked to provide your PA and GS member # along with expiration date so be prepared. Reservation process was easy. Check-in was fast and efficient. The staff in the office was great about helping us to get the lowest cost combination. Our site was 406 in the newer section. It was a very long pull-through with FHU and clear sky for satellite signal. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Verizon cell was ok. Verizon Mifi wasn't. Fortunately the park wifi was excellent. We had serious rain but no standing water. Trees could use some trimming along the interior roads. Over Labor Day weekend, the park was very full with lots of families. There were lots of activities for kids and they seemed to be having plenty of fun. We were thrilled with location of the park being so close to the battlefield. We stayed busy exploring so didn't spend much time in the campground. At check-in we were given free passes for 3 in-town attractions. We did two of them and particularly enjoyed the diorama. If we return to the area, we would be happy to stay here again. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Gettysburg Visitor Center is fabulous. One ticket gets you a film, cyclorama (very cool) and wonderful museum which has (among other things) short videos pertaining to each day of the battle plus various other topics. It's extremely well done. Allow at least 5 hours. If you run out of time, the staff will let you back in another day if you ask nicely. Attend ranger-led activities/talks. They're free and informative. Our fav activity was the guided battlefield tour on bike from Gettsybike.

We certainly enjoyed this park. Very quiet, very clean and well kept. Well stocked store. The laundry needs updating. Small washing machines that shake, rattle and roll! Had horse stalls, but we never smelled them or saw any signs of horses being on the grounds. Nice pool and small playground for the children. It was close to everything we wanted to see and do. We spent several days at Gettysburg viewing all the monuments, which were fantastic. We also really enjoyed the museum at the visitor center. Overall Rating:

Excellent location to explore Gettysburg and with the use of Passport America, the price was reasonable. It's not a value at the full price. Two caveats - the skimpy gravel pads at the sites don't reflect how RV's are built. When I placed my RV with slides relative to the the pedestal, I had to add blocks to raise the front 7 1/2 inches before I could start extending the levellegs. Two nearby sites were also that bad, and one rig had wheels off the ground. That could be fixed with proper grounds care. Do NOT use auto level in this park (well, we never do anyway). The second is TWO sets of parallel speed bumps on an angle that require you to cross a 1 MPH. I could not see the first set because it was a sunny day and they were hidden in the shade, before you stop to register. I politely explained to the staff that I paid $2000 to re-seat a windshield last year due to a campground pothole. Be cautious when entering. I would stay here again even with the above caveats. Just bring leveling blocks with you...I used all of mine, about 40, on this site. We camped at Artillery Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.
