We camped here with friends who have a seasonal site. This is a very large park! You will either need to bring or rent a golf cart here, over a mile long. Very large easy to navigate sites. We camped in the "front section" and the only thing you can hear is Highway 15 running right by! You will most certainly want a site in the back. Also, there was a slight noticeable sewer odor at times. Overall, the location is within easy distance of all Gettysburg has to offer. Very friendly staff, seasonal campers very nice, and park has alot to offer. Good internet and cell service. We will return. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

We were in a pull thru at the back of this very large park. Hook ups worked well and were placed well. WI FI was non existent in our section, a call to the office explained they were having internet issues. There was a lot of trash left in our site from previous campers. Cable worked well.Themed activities were well thought out. We will stay again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 3 nights here, beautiful park with great sites and lots to do. Pull through easy with lots of room for slides. Nice to not camp on top of other rigs. Love this site.
Lots of activities in the park for all. A little pastry, fresh vegetable cart came by with lots of fresh corn, onions, zucchini and homemade pies to buy, just wonderful. We

The roads and sites were made of poorly maintained gravel, with washouts and ruts along with dust. The sites were sufficiently long enough for our 45 ft 5th wheel but levelling was a challenge. Dumpsters were overflowing several times during our week long stay. Heavily wooded. Could hear highway noise. The facilities were old, tired and poorly lit. Notified the staff of a low hanging large tree limb that was over the roadway and they said they were waiting on their tree guy. It was getting lower when we left causing us to exit the park going out the wrong way to ensure it would not hit our rig. Staff (primarily teens) was just weak in their response to questions or when seeking assistance. Did not use WiFi. It does not appear as if the owners are placing any maintenance funds in the park. Park appeared to be heavily populated with full time residents. Some living in tents with lean to's. Though we love Gettysburg, we will not stay here again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We asked for a site way in the back away from the highway. The sites were well spaced. If the leaves were out on the trees, the cover between a lot of sites would be good. Despite being in the back corner, the highway noise is pretty loud, but that didn't take away from our stay. Water and sewer were well placed. Water pressure was 70 psi and the electric stayed steady at 122v. Cable provided 75 channels. Site 314 was perfectly level.
The reason I rated the park as an 8 was the value. We paid $59 + 10% tax each night for a "premium site". Our fire ring was a rusted out, moveable 18-wheeler rim, while other sites had nice fire pits with a BBQ grill on top. We would stay again but may be more apt to just get a non-premium site. We

We stayed in the back in a level pullthru site. The power was good, but water pressure was a trickle on the day we left. Cable was good. Some foliage between the sites. This campground is right off RT 15, and you can still hear road noise, even in the back section, though not nearly as bad as the front of the campground. It was early in the season, so the restaurant wasnt open yet, and the store did not have alot either. This is a huge campground so bring a bike or golf cart. We camped on the rainy first weekend of October when there was a chance of hurricane Juaquin coming in. We called Wednesday to ask if we could reschedule for a different time, even offering to come mid week, and the answer was no. We would have lost our entire $189 fee, not just a deposit, so we decided to try and make the best of going. I understand that campgrounds can't give rain checks for every rainy weekend, but think this policy was extreme. We're retired and offered to come mid week when they have empty sites anyway. So, make sure you understand their inflexibility before reserving.
There are a lot of boulders here which make the grounds charming, but navigation a bit tricky. We did like our site. The staff was friendly. We were in the front of the campground and even with our 4 season RV, the traffic noise from Rt. 15 was horrible all night long. The rear of the campground is much quieter, but then you're a long way from the office and activity building. We wouldn't stay here again. We
camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:
We stayed during a Halloween themed weekend. Drummer Boy is a very large campground, over a mile end-to-end. On the positive side, it is largely wooded throughout and the sites are fairly spacious for a commercial campground. Check-in was done at the entrance gate, we were met by an employee and were handed our paperwork immediately so didn't need to leave the truck. Big plus on a busy holiday weekend. Several activities were offered on Saturday, the highlights being the costume contest (our kids won prizes) and trick-or-treat parade. Campground wide trick-or-treating was held during daylight hours from 3-6. There was also a pumpkin-carving contest, haunted house, and a dance party for older kids (we didn't take part in those). The park appeared to be nearly sold-out.
On the negative side, the campground is sited immediately off of Route 15, which is a busy highway at almost all hours. Our loop was one of the closest to the road. Ultimately we adjusted to the noise, and there are sections of the park outside of earshot of the road. There are two playgrounds, one of which has fairly modern equipment. The other is almost laughably small with one piece of old climbing equipment. Having younger kids I was hoping for more activities for their age group. There was a craft offered (build your own stuffed animal) but it was run by an outside vendor and was expensive. I wouldn't rule out going back, but for the rate I expected a little more. We

Our stop here was a last minute change of plans on the weekend of Halloween. We really wanted to see as much of Gettysburg as we could so we didn't really take part in much of the festivities that were offered. We did attend a family dance party during the evening but my older boys didn't find it much fun, although there were a lot of younger aged children that did seem to a good time.
We arrived very late in the evening and the park is huge which presented trouble in finding our spot even with the map. Once we found our place, it was very easy to get in and get set up. Our site was level and the facilities well placed.
We were in the very back of the park and found it very beautiful. My boys noticed the water slides and the pools and decided that we need to come back during the summer months to try those out.
I am assuming that the rate was so high because of the holiday weekend. I don't know that I would be willing to pay that rate for a regular stay. We checked many of the other parks in the vicinity but all were full and we got lucky to even find a place at all. We

Very big park - over a mile long. You can rent golf carts to get around. Sites are narrow but shady and clean. We didn't use either pool but we saw them and they look very nice. Nice gift shop, but the prices in Gettysburg are much lower, so wait until you go to town before purchasing souvenirs and gifts.
We had no reservations and it was a Sunday evening so we were lucky to get a spot for two nights, but it was up front where the highway noise was louder. I suggest getting a reservation. We

Get reservations. Stay two or three days and visit Gettysburg more than once. Take the free park ranger tour of the cemetery - very interesting history from knowledgeable people.
Souvenirs and gifts are least expensive (by half) at the bus tour store (Historic Tour Company 55 Steinwehr Ave. 717-334-8000)
If you are going to take a bus tour, call for reservations first. We went on a Monday and they were almost sold out.

We stayed 5 days at a campsite with full service although we only needed water electric and cable. Nicely treed level lots. Sites and roads have processed stone and very little grass. Pitching a tent would be difficult. There is no real side privacey. We didn't use the pool due to our schedule but it appears adequate with separate hot tub. Things I didn't like was the site given to us on Confederate Dr was near RT 15 which was noisey all night. They rent golf carts and have a curfew of 10 pm but is not enforced. The store and pavilion hours are 9 am to 9 pm. If I come again I would stay to the rear of the store and the highway noise is quit loud at times. Campsite was large, private and level at the Back of the campground. However, the showers and restrooms were the worst I've experienced in our 40 years of camping! I've never experienced such dirty bathroom facilities. We spent a week there, and they were only swept a little twice. The pool area was supervised (life guards) by two very young teens who spent more time flirting with each other than watching the unsupervised children splashing about. The location was excellent for seeing the sights in Gettysburg. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
