Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park several times over the years. With this stay we noticed the park is looking rather scruffy. There appears to be more permanent (seasonal) sites and with that comes some sites that are becoming eyesores. There is a RV where the slide out came completely out of the RV and is busted up laying on the ground. No idea how long it has been that way. Some rigs look like they have not been cleaned since they were parked. The grass (and some trees) need cutting throughout the park. The wireless throughput was poor, fluctuating between .21Mbps to 2.40Mbps. If you need to get some work done, don't count on this network. Cable TV had a lot of signal noise. Not something I'm used to seeing. Water pressure was a bit low running between 30 and 50PSI, surprised by that. It would have been nice to see a consistent 60PSI but that did not happen. Power was excellent. Not exactly big rig friendly with some tight turns and like I said trees need to be cut back but it's do-able. Staff is friendly and professional. Overall I guess I'm somewhat disappointed. If I was staying for $30 a night I would just roll with it but for what we paid to stay I hold the park to a higher standard and it fell short. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

First the good, friendly staff, lots of activities and amenities, excellent cable TV. The not so good, paid for a"premium"site, there was no where to place picnic table on level ground. Fire ring was almost in the next site and the grass is nearly knee high. Just expected more for the premium price. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Have been here twice and we do see a rough edge building here. Fairly tight roads, lots of weeds, tons of trash built over holiday week (4th of July), dusty roads, road noise...but also friendly people, activities and lots to do in the area. So I'm somewhat conflicted. So is it a good campground or not? I do think that it is a good place, but one that needs an overhaul to bring it up to current standards in order to draw folks from outside the local area. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Of course the National Battlefield should occupy a few days. If you can, ride bikes from culps hill, to the far side of big round top, and then around through the peach orchard back to the National Cemetary. You will learn a lot. Also, Frederick in MD has a wonderful downtown and river walk area...try it.

Overall Rating:

As others have said, this is a large park. We camped during Fathers Day weekend & it was crowded. There is a large section for "seasonal" campers who leave their RV at the campground for the year & visit it intermittently. We were assigned a large space (#410) recently vacated by a "seasonal" camper. This back in site has level gravel, easy access to hook ups, shady on one side, more than enough space for our Class A, 45' motorhome & tow vehicle. Note: It backs up to the interstate, so noise is constant. Dust on the roads from vehicles & golf carts passing by was annoying. There are a couple of tight turns to get to this area of the campground. We unhitched at the office & drove to the site to preview our route & turns to get to this site. We also found our route out prior to moving our RV out of the campground. Again, there is a variety of tight turns, wide turns, & narrow roads to leave the park. For the rate we paid, we will probably not return. These park owners need to visit a Florida "resort" to understand what the term "resort" means. Its not just about having a pool & playground. Our site was pretty clean, probably because of the recent change from seasonal. However we walked by several sites that were full of weeds & generally not manicured to the level you would call "resort". Several RVs required leveling blocks for them to be close to level. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very large campground. We had a pull-thru "premium" site in the back section. We have stayed at this campground many times over the years and I still haven't figured out the difference between the so called premium sites and standard sites with the same hookups and size other than cost. Our site was level side to side and good sized. The hookups were easily accessed. The gravel roads need work. Also, the gravel they use is extremely dusty when dry and almost like cement paste when wet. It gets on everything! This is a huge detraction. The campground is well located for Gettysburg and surrounding areas. The value for cost is barely satisfactory. There are other comparable local campgrounds that are less expensive. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed near the back of this camp ground to reduce the amount of noise from Route 15 - and it made a difference. The site was nice and spacious -did need a little work to level. Campground is large and we did not rent a golf cart or use the pool. There were plenty of sponsored activities planned that weekend so there were things for adults and kids to participated. This is the third time we have stayed at Drummer Boy and my first review. We would come back again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here with friends who have a seasonal site. This is a very large park! You will either need to bring or rent a golf cart here, over a mile long. Very large easy to navigate sites. We camped in the "front section" and the only thing you can hear is Highway 15 running right by! You will most certainly want a site in the back. Also, there was a slight noticeable sewer odor at times. Overall, the location is within easy distance of all Gettysburg has to offer. Very friendly staff, seasonal campers very nice, and park has alot to offer. Good internet and cell service. We will return. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

We were in a pull thru at the back of this very large park. Hook ups worked well and were placed well. WI FI was non existent in our section, a call to the office explained they were having internet issues. There was a lot of trash left in our site from previous campers. Cable worked well.Themed activities were well thought out. We will stay again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 3 nights here, beautiful park with great sites and lots to do. Pull through easy with lots of room for slides. Nice to not camp on top of other rigs. Love this site.

Lots of activities in the park for all. A little pastry, fresh vegetable cart came by with lots of fresh corn, onions, zucchini and homemade pies to buy, just wonderful. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

The roads and sites were made of poorly maintained gravel, with washouts and ruts along with dust. The sites were sufficiently long enough for our 45 ft 5th wheel but levelling was a challenge. Dumpsters were overflowing several times during our week long stay. Heavily wooded. Could hear highway noise. The facilities were old, tired and poorly lit. Notified the staff of a low hanging large tree limb that was over the roadway and they said they were waiting on their tree guy. It was getting lower when we left causing us to exit the park going out the wrong way to ensure it would not hit our rig. Staff (primarily teens) was just weak in their response to questions or when seeking assistance. Did not use WiFi. It does not appear as if the owners are placing any maintenance funds in the park. Park appeared to be heavily populated with full time residents. Some living in tents with lean to's. Though we love Gettysburg, we will not stay here again. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the back in a level pullthru site. The power was good, but water pressure was a trickle on the day we left. Cable was good. Some foliage between the sites. This campground is right off RT 15, and you can still hear road noise, even in the back section, though not nearly as bad as the front of the campground. It was early in the season, so the restaurant wasnt open yet, and the store did not have alot either. This is a huge campground so bring a bike or golf cart. We asked for a site way in the back away from the highway. The sites were well spaced. If the leaves were out on the trees, the cover between a lot of sites would be good. Despite being in the back corner, the highway noise is pretty loud, but that didn't take away from our stay. Water and sewer were well placed. Water pressure was 70 psi and the electric stayed steady at 122v. Cable provided 75 channels. Site 314 was perfectly level.

The reason I rated the park as an 8 was the value. We paid $59 + 10% tax each night for a "premium site". Our fire ring was a rusted out, moveable 18-wheeler rim, while other sites had nice fire pits with a BBQ grill on top. We would stay again but may be more apt to just get a non-premium site. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Our stop here was a last minute change of plans on the weekend of Halloween. We really wanted to see as much of Gettysburg as we could so we didn't really take part in much of the festivities that were offered. We did attend a family dance party during the evening but my older boys didn't find it much fun, although there were a lot of younger aged children that did seem to a good time.

We arrived very late in the evening and the park is huge which presented trouble in finding our spot even with the map. Once we found our place, it was very easy to get in and get set up. Our site was level and the facilities well placed.

We were in the very back of the park and found it very beautiful. My boys noticed the water slides and the pools and decided that we need to come back during the summer months to try those out.

I am assuming that the rate was so high because of the holiday weekend. I don't know that I would be willing to pay that rate for a regular stay. We checked many of the other parks in the vicinity but all were full and we got lucky to even find a place at all. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
