As one of the closest campgrounds to Gettysburg, its convenience is second to none. Roads and sites within the campground are gravel. There are a variety of sites (back-in and pull-through): some are spaced VERY close together, with utilities overlapping into the next site; some have utilities placed very far behind the site, necessitating extension cords to reach power; still others are nicely laid out and have new concrete patios. There are also cabins available for rent. Definitely try to verify what you are getting when making your reservation. That being said, check-in was smoothly accomplished by very friendly office personnel and we drove to our back-in site...long, but very narrow. This is a sizable campground, with a large recreation hall and a huge activity field centrally located. The campground abounds with family activities, including movie nights. The swimming pool, mini-golf, and shuffleboard are located at the front of the park. Marsh Creek flows along one side and behind the park...prone to flooding in times of consistent rain...necessitating the evacuation of the park. Park personnel and owners diligently monitor the creek/flooding situation, and if needed, notify guests, giving all plenty of time to leave. If ever in the area again, we would return to this campground...however in a different site. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Not first time in Gettysburg, but first time for us staying at the Gettysburg Campground. Check in was easy with plenty of room to unhook our toad. During our stay the temps were diving down past freezing, the cg had signs up and made sure to remind us that they would be shutting off the water a night (They went out of their way to make sure everyone knew this would occur and were great about it) Our site was along the stream that borders the property and was very nice and spacious. The cg is located right on the outskirts of the driving tour and was able to use it as a home base to tour the Gettysburg area. We would easily be able to recommend this cg if you are in the Gettysburg area. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a campground made out of an open area, not much shade, it was very hot there but then we were only there at night, we stayed a couple nights so we could see Gettysburg Battlefield and area. Park is okay for a couple nights stay but not much more than that. It is level, gravel lots and not much more to say about it. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is in the wide open with no shade, very hot! Sites are okay, nothing special, just gravel and grass. No security at night because we tried to call about people playing music outside late at night (way past quiet time). NO trash pickup, tv was okay until a 5er pulled in next to us and plugged in their tv cable and then we got snowy reception. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

The owners and staff are very accommodating. We were even driven around to scout out and choose our site. Pool was pristine with comfortable chairs inside the pool and in the shaded patio adjoining. No lifeguard means strict enforcement of safety rules. Unaccompanied 12 year olds in the pool were not happy to be ejected until they had an adult with them. We had a site on the stream and my grandson and dogs enjoyed catching crayfish and minnows. Nice level site and happily, we were allowed a tent plus our rv on the one site. Not often the case in private parks. A reason to book again! My adult son and my grandson enjoyed camping out while we were content in the RV. quiet park. Well maintained. Little road noise, but the tree frogs and cicadas are quite loud at night, which I enjoy. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

After all the historical highlights, and ready for something else? 1)If traveling with younger children, try "Land of Little Horses" 3 miles up the road. Pack a picnic., or use the cafe. 2) For a hike (easy or moderate options), try Cunningham Falls about 30 minutes drive ( Thurmont MD). Again, pack picnic lunch. 3)Shop the outlets - no sales tax on clothing.

We had a pull thru site with only 30 amp service, but was able to run 2 a/c units with HWH on gas as it was in the mid 90's every day. Sites was plenty long enough for our 42 foot 5th wheel, and had a cement patio with picnic table & fire ring. Utilities were fine and cable worked good, but WiFi was poor. Some sites had new gravel, but we've been coming to this CG for a long time, and there hasn't been much improvements at all. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a family owned Campground and it shows. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a nice pool and well maintained mini golf course. The dog area was not fenced. Our site was spacious and open, which we prefer for satellite reception. There are quite a few permanents. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Great park with just as good staff, all very friendly and helpful. Site large enough for our class 8 truck, 42' 5th wheel and Smart car. Was here for a rally with 41 other units. Some sites looked close together but on the awning side was where all the room was which was nice. Very busy campground and probably one of the most popular ones in the area. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our previous stay at Gettysburg Campground was in July of 2011. The park is essentially unchanged; a little bit of maintenance (fresh paint) would help appearances. Sites needed to be raked to get rid of small twigs & branches that had fallen out of the trees. Campground is still VERY well-managed. Example: There was significant rain the last night of our stay and in the morning there were a fair number of sites that had standing water in them. The campers that had arrived over the previous two days had all been assigned to sites that were still dry! A good selection of shaded sites. Staff very personable and campground store adequately stocked with food, supplies, RV items, and souvenirs. This campground is our top choice in the area, and we will return. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very good, large RV Park conveniently located to Gettysburg Battlefield and Visitor's Center. Lots of shade. Flat. Large enough for most RV's with adequate space between sites. Management team led us to our site and assisted in set up. Our site was near a small stream rolling along side the campground. Very peaceful and pretty, considering we were in a very large park. Tips for other Campers:

RV Park is on SW side of downtown Gettysburg. Streets in and through Gettysburg are very busy, crowded and somewhat difficult to navigate with an RV. Seek directions that avoids the downtown area if possible. Park is well located for exploring the battlefield and the Eisenhower Farm. Allow at least 2/3 of a day and go to Eisenhower Farm if at all possible. Quite interesting. National Park service provides a shuttle bus from Visitor's Center to the farm, for a small fee.

Came to Gettysburg to stay for a few days. Due to family illness we had to stay longer. The owner and his staff were very helpful in getting us a site as the park is usually booked for the weekends. Roads and sites are gravel with picnic table and fire pit. Pool, mini golf, game room, horseshoes and playground. Lots of kids on weekends but very quiet during the week in April. Also about 3 miles from the battlefields and attractions. We stayed here in a motorhome. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Our second stay here. We attended a camping rally of 25+ campers here. The host was gracious, accommodating our group. The staff was always visible and assisted many to their sites during the busy weekend. We had access to the Rec Hall and pavilion both of which were clean and adequate. Improvements around the park were evident. Limited 50A sites. About half were FHU. Typical CG cable in that the picture was watchable but fuzzy. Definitely will return and highly recommend. Close to the Battlefield and town. Minimal highway traffic and noise. Quiet time was observed each night as the campground was quiet and enjoyable. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here on a busy Columbus Day weekend and an apple fest in the area and they squeezed us in last minute with our small trailer. Nice staff in the office, clean bathhouse. Our site was large, wooded, with a fire pit. Even though there were many campers there it was surpringly quiet. Firewood was dry and a good deal. We stayed here for the 5TH annual Mid-Atlantic Titanium Rally. We always enjoy our stay here. On Saturday an Amish vendor tours the park in the afternoon with vegetables and pastries for the campers to purchase.. The staff is easy going and quite helpful. A honey wagon makes the rounds daily to evacuate the holding tanks of campers in need for $8.00. There is much to do in the area with countless attractions, tours, & historic sites to choose from.
