We stayed on site 227. It was a back in and Marsh Creek ran behind us. The campground was clean. Our site was a nice size. It was quiet and very relaxing. We had w&e. They have 2 dump stations, LP, bathrooms and a laundry room. I did not use any of these. If you have children, they have a pool, putt-putt and a small and very clean arcade room. We did play putt-putt, however did not use the pool. Didn't have the greatest weather. The one day it was nice, we went to Gettysburg Battlefield. We felt it was a great location, not far from Gettysburg Battlefield or Downtown Gettysburg. Some sites are closer together than other sites. They also have double sites you share, where one is a pull through and one a back in. We are going back again this fall. Couldn't get the site we had, however we are getting a corner site and it is another descent sized site. The owners are on site and very nice people. The store has the basic's for everyday use plus gifts and a snack bar. I would recommend staying here. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gettysburg Battlefield. Do the Auto tour, so you can get out and take pictures whenever you choose to. The bus tour is $35.00 per person and only has one stop to get off. Eisenhowers farm. This can only be reached by a tour bus. It is $9 a person. It was very interesting. If you don't want to cook and want something fast, My Brothers pizza 2 minutes up the road from The campground.

Sites are close together with nothing for separation. Utilities were good. Most sites are W/E only. There is a dump station and pump-out service available. The sites are level and most have lots of mature trees so are shady. The staff is super nice. We were there during biker week in Gettysburg and our neighbors were bikers. Really nice people. Location is quite good and easy to find. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It's all about the battlefield in this part of Pennsylvania. We took one of the bus tours and felt the narration by a licensed guide was very good. Dwight Eisenhower's farm is nearby and can be seen from parts of the battlefield. We didn't visit but heard it is good.

This park is very well kept. The laundry facilities were all in working order and easy to find. The showers and restrooms were very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My children enjoyed the mini golf and the RV site was great! I would highly recommend staying here. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Lucked into a large pull through at the last minute during the Gettysburg re-enactment. Great service, friendly people and close to the attractions - and even easy to get an Uber if you need to. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Great location. Park has all the amenities one would need. Nice clean pool, putt-putt golf, laundry, showers, restrooms. Conveniently located to the Gettysburg Battle Field and downtown Gettysburg. The park has a small creek (Marsh Creek) and lots of beautiful trees. Lots of wildlife. The spaces are level - grass/dirt. The 50 amp and sewer hookups are limited, but they will pump out the sewer for $10. Very friendly staff that will lead you to your site. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We chose this campground for it's promity to Gettysburg. There are a small number of seasonal campers here but, for the most part, it appears campers are here for the Gettysburg experience. The park is easy to find and located close to shopping. Our site (32) was mostly level, gravel and a back-in. Virtually no privacy between sites. We had full hook-ups + cable. The laundry was very clean (3 sets of washers/dryers), $2.00 wash, $1.50 dry which is very reasonable. The bathrooms have 3 stalls and 2 showers; we did not use the showers here. The campground has a pool (unheated but very clean and no shade), a small mini golf course (tired but playable) and a well stocked camp store. For the convenience to Gettysburg, we would stay here again but thought the rate was a little high. Employees were friendly. The person that checked us in gave great advice on how to do Gettysburg and took her time explaining the area to us. Much appreciated. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed this park. The week we were here was extremely HOT. We were able to use our air conditioner all week with no problems. The pool was full all week but kept super clean. This campground is really perfect for visiting Gettysburg. The staff here were wonderful and super helpful. We would definitely stay here again! We had a buddy site with our friends. The sites were very level and had our choice of wooded or not. Plenty of room for our truck and 5th wheel. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable of things to do in the area. Our site (#110) was level, very shaded, near the creek and tent areas. They had a guide to our site and they showed us where all the hook ups were. We had water/electric and cable. Wifi service was ok. A little slow once the campground filled up for the weekend. We didn't use the bath house or laundry. They had a FROG rally going on and there was a large pavilion next to the rec hall that they had a BBQ at. It was easy to get to Gettysburg attractions from the campground. We would stay here again. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful park and staff, all friendly and very helpful, guided to our site and was concerned on the height of low looking wires, they sent someone to not only watch but lift the wires if needed. Grounds well kept, trees trimmed. Here for a FROG Rally, great park to hold a rally. nice pavilion and plenty of open space. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We called to make a reservation (for a weekend) a few days ahead and all they had was a 30 amp with no sewer, which we were able to work with, as it was located in a wooded, shady section. The (pull-thru) site was kind of tight to get into, but actually kind of spacious once we got into it. No way to get in without disconnecting the car, which we do anyway. The office and grounds staff were professional and helpful. The campground was crowded on the weekend, but everybody was polite and quite. There is a lovely creek that runs the perimeter of the grounds (sites are adjacent to it, but you can still walk up in some areas). Seems to be a lot of activities for kids. Bathrooms were clean but in real need updating (parts held together by multiple layers of grout, missing and cracked tiles, etc.) Very close to all of Gettysburg activities. It is all stones - very little grass (the grass in the pics is all growing up through the stones) - at least paved roadways would have been nice. We would recommend this campground. There are a lot of different areas in the campground, thus if you have shade or no shade preferences, be sure to ask when you book! We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like to bicycle, drive into Harrisburg (42 miles). Park on City Island ($5) and bike over the pedestrian bridge into Harrisburg. Right along Front Street is a lovely trail that runs along the Susquehanna River. 10 miles RT (longer if you move away from the river). It is an wonderful, flat trail - old homes on one side and beautiful river views on the other with nice trail landscaping and historical plaques.

Overall Rating:

As one of the closest campgrounds to Gettysburg, its convenience is second to none. Roads and sites within the campground are gravel. There are a variety of sites (back-in and pull-through): some are spaced VERY close together, with utilities overlapping into the next site; some have utilities placed very far behind the site, necessitating extension cords to reach power; still others are nicely laid out and have new concrete patios. There are also cabins available for rent. Definitely try to verify what you are getting when making your reservation. That being said, check-in was smoothly accomplished by very friendly office personnel and we drove to our back-in site...long, but very narrow. This is a sizable campground, with a large recreation hall and a huge activity field centrally located. The campground abounds with family activities, including movie nights. The swimming pool, mini-golf, and shuffleboard are located at the front of the park. Marsh Creek flows along one side and behind the park...prone to flooding in times of consistent rain...necessitating the evacuation of the park. Park personnel and owners diligently monitor the creek/flooding situation, and if needed, notify guests, giving all plenty of time to leave. If ever in the area again, we would return to this campground...however in a different site. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Not first time in Gettysburg, but first time for us staying at the Gettysburg Campground. Check in was easy with plenty of room to unhook our toad. During our stay the temps were diving down past freezing, the cg had signs up and made sure to remind us that they would be shutting off the water a night (They went out of their way to make sure everyone knew this would occur and were great about it) Our site was along the stream that borders the property and was very nice and spacious. The cg is located right on the outskirts of the driving tour and was able to use it as a home base to tour the Gettysburg area. We would easily be able to recommend this cg if you are in the Gettysburg area. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a campground made out of an open area, not much shade, it was very hot there but then we were only there at night, we stayed a couple nights so we could see Gettysburg Battlefield and area. Park is okay for a couple nights stay but not much more than that. It is level, gravel lots and not much more to say about it. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is in the wide open with no shade, very hot! Sites are okay, nothing special, just gravel and grass. No security at night because we tried to call about people playing music outside late at night (way past quiet time). NO trash pickup, tv was okay until a 5er pulled in next to us and plugged in their tv cable and then we got snowy reception. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

The owners and staff are very accommodating. We were even driven around to scout out and choose our site. Pool was pristine with comfortable chairs inside the pool and in the shaded patio adjoining. No lifeguard means strict enforcement of safety rules. Unaccompanied 12 year olds in the pool were not happy to be ejected until they had an adult with them. We had a site on the stream and my grandson and dogs enjoyed catching crayfish and minnows. Nice level site and happily, we were allowed a tent plus our rv on the one site. Not often the case in private parks. A reason to book again! My adult son and my grandson enjoyed camping out while we were content in the RV. quiet park. Well maintained. Little road noise, but the tree frogs and cicadas are quite loud at night, which I enjoy. We camped at Gettysburg Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

After all the historical highlights, and ready for something else? 1)If traveling with younger children, try "Land of Little Horses" 3 miles up the road. Pack a picnic., or use the cafe. 2) For a hike (easy or moderate options), try Cunningham Falls about 30 minutes drive ( Thurmont MD). Again, pack picnic lunch. 3)Shop the outlets - no sales tax on clothing.
