Friendly owner. Good service. 2 women running the campground and there's a lot of work here. Things could use upgrading. Pool could use some chairs and new deck. Irregular sites. Stuff sitting around. This is a older campground, not a resort. If you are in a small trailer or popup the wooded sites would be great. Nice playground. Bathhouses old, but ok. Rate quoted in review is weekly rate plus Electric which was metered and charged separately. Road in was narrow, including a one lane bridge, not Big Rig friendly. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay here. Coming on a hot week, we told the owner we'd like shade, but wouldn't mind satellite too. She helped us pick a spot that was mostly shaded, but got us satellite. We were so happy. Being close to the office got us good internet too. We drove over grass to pull in, very easy, site was fairly level. There are tons of trails around to walk the dog. I went in the pool since it was so hot and it was very clean. There was a little playground for little ones. There was a small laundry room we used that didn't cost much, can't remember the price. My husband had to go to the Philadelphia airport, about an hour away. I was alone and felt perfectly safe and comfortable there. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

If you want no frills at a low cost about an hour north of Philadelphia, Homestead Campground is paradise. The place looks to be owned and maintained by a mother-daughter combo - their late father appeared to be the "glue" and handyman who kept everything running. No longer. The grounds are beginning to wear down.

When I called to reserve a site, the lady said water/electric sites would be available. Didn't give me a site number, however. We arrived at 10 p.m. and the grounds were quiet. No message at the camp office. No map. Called the phone number on the door and left a message. We picked a site at random. The following day, we tracked down the daughter and paid for the site. While the folks are friendly, they appear to be overwhelmed or disinterested in operating anything more than an overnight rest area.

No camp store. No daily activities. The office is rarely open. The electric went off around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday and didn't come back until 9:30 a.m. We don't know why. A small unguarded pool is at the lower corner of the grounds. Water looked OK, but I wouldn't swim in it.

The permanent rigs are well maintained. A limited number of sewer sites are available. In the woods to the rear of the campground are dozens of water/electric sites - great for pop-ups or tents.

Stay here if you need to. There are better choices in Bucks County. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Manderfield Nature Preserve is located 1/4 mile north of the campground along Allentown Road. A great place for hiking and spotting deer and other wildlife.

Overall Rating:

Family run campground with the best service that we have had anywhere. Michelle makes you feel like family. The park looks deceivingly small from the front where there are only about 10 sites visible but apparently has a total of 100 sites in back. We tried one site which was not level from side to side and moved to a more level site out front. Hook-ups were fine. Lots of room for walking the dog and even a hidden pool on the side of the property. This is more of a quiet, peaceful park than a fancy resort. Allentown Road was winding and narrow but manageable for our 40 ft motorhome. We stayed here to see friends in Penllyn, Pa and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't use you GPS to get here. Close to Philadelphia yet in a country setting. Extremely helpful owner and helpers. Avoid entering from the North as the turn is most difficult, except for smaller units. Good cable TV. Very quiet. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects a weekly rate. Older campground but everything worked. Coming from the north you have to descend a long hill and then cross a 1 lane bridge. Leaving the campground could be a challenge as when you pull out, there could be someone coming up the hill around the curve. Roads could use some work. Pretty convenient to Quakertown. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Owner is extremely friendly and accommodating. Large playground and great hiking trails. Had a really nice site in the trees. If you're looking for a bunch of organized activities, this isn't the place - but if you want a well kept, quiet, relaxing campground, you've found it! Quiet old fashioned campground with mature trees and lots of grass. Boulders the size of an elephant's back are sprinkled throughout where the glaciers left them. Small clean pool which was too cold to use. Every kind of store you can imagine is within 5 miles. Good place to kick back and unwind. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.

This is great find. About 45 minutes to Philly and 10 minutes to tons of shopping and dining out. The owners are really friendly and helpful. The full hookups and Wi-Fi worked great. The big rig access is limited but there are a variety of sites for every need. Peaceful and quiet too. There are a few musty old seasonal units but otherwise the campground is beautiful. We camped at Homestead Campground in a Motorhome.
