We stayed in Site 62 Loop B (Dog Loop). Loop B has electricity on all sites. No septic or water hookups in the campground. Site was very uneven. Overall it was a nice campground near a large lake where our teenagers took the SUP (Stand-Up-Paddleboard) on. Bathrooms/showers are clean. Quiet campground. We brought a second vehicle and it was free but we had to park it at an overflow area. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Travel Trailer.

First time here. Enjoyed the park and the local Marina. Rented a pontoon boat. Went into Hanover to visit the Amish Farmers Market. Wonderful ShooFly pie! Campgrounds were quiet and had a restful weekend. Sunday they had a worship service in the Community area. We are headed back in September. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A large state park with mostly wooded, electric-only sites close to Lake Marburg, a 1,275-acre lake in southern York County. Plenty of planned and available outdoor activities are available. Sites situated in "loops" that afforded a decent level of privacy at predominantly level sites inside and outside the loops. Check-out time is a generous 3 p.m. State park staff present throughout the campground, but not too onerous. There are two 18-hole disc golf courses, and two 9-hole extra courses. We will return in the fall to check out the changing leaves around the lake. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Every Wednesday and Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and select Sundays, May through August, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources volunteers host 90-minute guided kayak tours on the lake. Boats and equipment are provided to observe turtles, eagles and a variety of wading birds. The Wildlife Watchers on the Water program cost is $15. Reservations required by calling 717-637-2816. The tour is worth the time and minor cost.

Codorus campground is a no frill, out and about with nature, campground. Clean and tidy, easy access, super friendly staff at the gate. The sites in the B loop allow pets, though not all sites have electric. I don't believe any have full hookup. There are several water pumps/faucets in each of the loops, and the dump station is handy. There is a small (and I assume unmanned) "camp store" at the gate that operates on the honor system and therefore I also assume only has ice and firewood. You are allowed to chop up any downed and dead trees for firewood (they leave the trees where they fall and you can go get the wood - we had a pile right behind our site that we used for kindling). The lake is large, has marina where you can rent pontoon boats, paddle boards, fishing boats, canoes and kayaks, and an oar house on another part of the lake for kayak and canoe rentals only. There is a visitors' center with a telescope positioned on the Eagle's nest during the nesting season. Fishing is allowed by permit. There is a nice, large pool that can get VERY crowded on weekends, but during our mid-week stay, it was very moderately attended. They allow food and drinks to come in (no coolers) but you are supposed to consume your food up in the eating/concessions area by the snack bar. The pool is open to the public and pricey. Our camping receipt discounted us to $8 per person per day for the pool (though you can get your hand stamped and go to your car, to the ample picnic area outside the pool area, or back to your campsite throughout the day). In-state residents pay about half that amount. My camping rate above included the $5 per night per extra vehicle charge we paid for a second car. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hanover is a close-by town that has anything you need: restaurants, fast food, shopping, medical care, kids entertainment in rainy weather (Hickory Hills has laser tag, race cars, etc. and Magic elm skating rink has roller skating. There are a couple of movie theaters also.).

Decided to stay at Codorus rather than expensive parks closer to Gettysburg. Some sites in trees, newer sites in open grassy area. Paved RV pad. Electricity at the site. Strange no sewer or water at the site. Person at check-in booth was a little surly, but other staff helpful. Two ways to get into park: 1) older entrance was near the swimming pool and then winds up hill, 2) newer entrance comes off road at separate entrance. It does wind around a bit so road lines up with registration booth. Attended Sunday worship service with state park chaplain. Would recommend park to others. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at Codorus State Park campground the first week of July 2016. We stayed over the 4th of July weekend, so pretty busy as you might expect. The entrance to the campground can be challenging to find and google maps never seemed to get it right for me, so be sure to check your directions carefully. The entrance to the campground through the checkpoint is a bit of a mess and can be a bit difficult to navigate with a larger rig. We have a 35' RV and were able to manage OK, but I can see where it could be a bit hairy for larger rigs, 5th wheels or trailers. Plenty of the above in the park though, so they seemed to have managed as well.

The showers / restrooms are centrally located in each loop of the campground with garbage dumpsters nearby. The showers / restrooms are old, but very clean and there was plenty of hot water.

The campground has both non-electric and 30amp electric sites. There is no water or dump facilities at the individual campsites, though there is both fresh water and dual dump stations at the entrance to the campground.

In general, I don't think there's a perfectly level site in the campground. You can find some that are close to level and others that aren't even close. I saw a lot of blocks being used at some campsites to level rigs and trailers. I saw one motorhome that has nearly 6" off the ground on blocks. I'd say that about half the sites have asphalt pads and half have dirt/stone pads.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the park as there is lots to do at this park, especially if you like the boating and fishing on the lake (though there is no swimming in the lake). We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

We've been coming here the past few years in the fall. It's a great state park and nice campground. The water park is closed when we come so I can't comment on it, but I've seen it and looks great. The lake is beautiful and we've rented canoes and had lots of fun. There are a few trails to hike. It's a very peaceful here with varying site types from wooded to full sun. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Codorus State Park has a nice campground. However, there are not many sites that allow pets, and even fewer pet-friendly sites with shade. I wish I had known that most PA state campgrounds don't have water hookups before we got there, even "modern electric" sites. If I stayed there again I would get site 44 due to its proximity to the water spigot in case we needed to refill the tank. If you don't have a pet, site 57 is also close to a water spigot. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, large campground. The sites in the woods are nice but most of those don't have electric. We chose one of the electric sites out in the field. Very nice bathhouses and plenty of places to hike. Large swimming pool within (long) walking distance. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Do be aware of ample poison ivy at some sites. Not hard to avoid if you know what it looks like but watch the kids! We would stay here again. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Camped there a couple nights during the week. It was very quiet and restful. Camp hosts were very helpful and courteous. We camped on site 120 ( a back-in site) which required at least 8" of leveling for the back axles of my Class C. Bath houses were clean and close by. Firewood was available at reasonable prices. We plan to return in the fall. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Our site was pretty level and I only had to add 3" of lift for the system in the MH to level it out. Some sites were pretty bad. We had a 50 amp site and it cost no more than the 30 amps sites. There are only a few of the 50 amp sites available and they are not marked on the map. As about one when you check in. Bathrooms and showers were clean and had good hot water but had a faint aroma of the pachyderm house of a few zoos I've been to. Not unpleasant but there. They have paved roads with gravel sites. Verizon MiFi works fine but no local Wi-Fi. They have a nice swimming pool but you have to pay extra for that. They have a dump station. All in all a nice park. Senior discounts are available but the price we paid does not reflect that. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

We had horrible sites. They were not level at all (paved but on a hill and sloped). There was no picnic table (it was located on top of the hill behind us and that camper had taken up 2 tables!) and our fire ring was up on the hill above our camper. But, these were last minute reservations and we didn't have a choice of sites. We toured the campground to look for better sites for our next visit. They do have some really nice sites. We visited the pool just to check it out and will use it the next trip. It looks fantastic! So, as long as you are careful with the site you pick this could really be a nice campground! We camped at Codorus State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The good on this park is nice lake setting. D loop was very shady and room between sites. We had a pet so were not able to get an electric site. Apparently they can't let a pet around people without pets. Strange layout: not so good about this park. We ended up with a site with no hookups for $27/night. Way too much for that. The pet noise and leash rules were not enforced. The site next to us had three dogs that ran loose until another camper told them to get them. Then the youngest dog barked constantly. The speed limit in the park was supposed to be 15, but we had cars driving by doing at least 35, including the police. I certainly would never let my child walk or ride a bike here. This could be a great place to family camp if the rules were enforced. I will not stay here again. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is part of the PA State Park system. Always very clean, abundant grassy areas, and the people are always very nice to deal with. Many campground hosts are available to help you. Downfall is you can only have one vehicle per site, so an alternate vehicle needs to be parked in the overflow parking area. It's not a far walk to any of the parking lots, so it's not a huge deal. Swimming pool is not in the campground, but very close by. There is a variety of full sun, or full shade sites. Pets are permitted on certain sites. Plenty of activities for children to enjoy. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Travel Trailer.

What an incredibly well maintained State Park! Staff and hosts were pleasant and genuinely took an interest in our enjoyment of the campgrounds. Took my girlfriend for her first night out camping in anything and she thoroughly enjoyed it. :-) We were lucky enough to get B65 very near the very clean restroom/utility sinks. (Loop hosts were near there in case of a problem). Site was slightly less than level, but nothing that couldn't be handled. Our site with electric was spot on, cleaned and ready to have a guest. Guests near us all abided by quiet hours, and we slept like babies. This park has earned a RETURN mark on my Google Earth list of sites. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Tent Trailer.
