Our third stay at Hershey Park Campground, first time not staying in Carousel Circle and loved it even though the train noise was more noticeable this trip. Check in was quick and easy as you didn't even have to enter the building as they had someone by the road as you entered. Site 1 was a little tight side to side due to slope of hill but we made it work. Shuttles to Hershey Park/Chocolate World were great as usual. Re-booked for same weekend again before we left. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very tight sites. We did not even attempt to have a campfire because our fire ring was right up against our neighbors rig. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Shuttle bus to Hershey was excellent, ran constantly, air conditioned and courteous drivers. Pool was nice and had lifeguards that actually took their job seriously . We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the carrousel circle; they really scram you in as most private campgrounds. It was difficult to maneuver, but we didn't have anyone next to us which was really nice. The sites were shady, did not hear to train while sleeping, but we had the air conditioning on both nights. We were able to check in early, no questions asked. Pool was very nice and clean, not much for playground equipment. The shuttle was wonderful, pricey but so convenient. Internet was great! Would definitely stay here again. Great park. The staff is very friendly. The only negative is the space between sites in Carousel Circle. Sites are close, but most campers spend the day away so it is peaceful. Most sites have 4 trees (1 one each corner) so most of the pull thru sites are shaded. Roads are narrow, but easy to navigate for even big rigs. Some folks spread out more than they should, which makes it feel (for those next door) even tighter. Overall, the service we received was top notch: from the shuttle drivers, to the camp store staff and folks that collect your garbage and recycling from the end of your camp site. The shuttle pick-up/drop-off is right next to Carousel Circle making it user friendly for most campers. It would be better if there was a path that cut through the middle, so folks didn't walk through the edge of another person's site.

Hershey Park itself was very nice with more affordable food & drink options than other amusement parks we have visited. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

The trash service is amazing. When you first arrive you are given clear bags for recycling (yay for recycling!). The check-in process is quick due to attendants being staged right at the entrance of the park. From here we were directed to our site and given a quick overview of the campus. The shuttles were frequent and convenient and during our stay there was a movie played on the back wall of the camp store every night. Pros:

Check in is a breeze (during peek check in hours staff set up outside about 300 yards or so from the entrance and quickly check you in by walking up to your vehicle with an iPad.

Friendly staff

General store with a little of anything you may need

Countless amount of recreational activities for children and family. Nice pool, volley and basketball courts, recreation room, several playgrounds

Grounds and facilities are very clean.

Trash gets picked up by staff from your site.

We were allowed early check in at no additional cost "you can check in as early as you'd like" (there was no one at our site the night before)

No limit on the number of people on your site, no additional cost to visitors (aside from -$7 overflow parking fee) all activities on the grounds are open to your visitors at no extra cost. (Visitors have to be off the grounds by 11 otherwise it's considered an overnight stay. But really no one was checking)

Grounds are easy to navigate. It wasn't difficult for us to pull in to our site. (Pioneer Heights site 51c) good amount of green space.

Free trolley to and from Hershey park every 1/2 hour. Runs from 8a-11p. Park opens an hour early for Hershey occupants.

Countless amount of things to do in the area off grounds.

Grounds feel safe and the area has an extraordinary police department. (Derry Township PD)

Cons:

Our site wasn't shaded but we came prepared for that.

Bugs.... However, we were able to purchase a fogger at the general store that took care of that problem right away.

Train. Let me address this because it's the number one complaint I hear about these grounds....the train does pass by regularly and unscheduled. However, it passes by quickly and did not disturb us at all.

To summarize our visit we loved our stay, our visitors loved it, the kids all had a blast, and being able to experience the grounds with family led to the convincing of my in laws to purchase their own RV. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a site in Carousel Circle, very small. So narrow that the next site's water/electric hookup was under our canopy! And the side of their camper was about 6 feet from the canopy. So if you don't want any more space than under your canopy, great - but way too cramped for our liking, especially for the price. Barely had enough room to park the truck once we unhooked. Other parts of the campground seemed to have more spacious sites. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

The other reviews are right. The biggest thing this campground has going for it is the free shuttle bus to Hershey Park. This allows you to avoid the parking fees. If you are going to a concert at Hershey Park I would highly recommend using the shuttle because traffic was terrible & parking was way off in overflow the night we drove by the park. Other then that the park is very plain. It does have a nice pool. It has a large gift shop & a game room. The employees are very friendly & helpful. The park is convenient to local attractions & Harrisburg. There are no restaurants on the grounds but they are close by. There is a laundry but I didn't use it so I can't report on its condition. The campsites are close together. There is room for your tow. We did get satellite reception. Wi Fi was good. There is cable. We have a 41 ft motorhome & it was a little tight getting out of our space. Some parts of the park are close to the railroad tracks. Trains went thru frequently. Some of the tents were up against the water on the property which according to the park info we got at check in is subject to flash flood in heavy rain. All in all we would stay here again. Been coming here for 20 years but will not longer visit. The rates of gotten so out of reach. They claim to be a 'resort' but they're really not a resort. The positives: a free bus ride to & from Hershey Park (IF you go, IF you want to wait and wait and wait for a ride). Also nice are the pools. The negatives: the early and constant sounds of the gas powered golf carts by the staff. They race around the campground from the early morning and go all day long. They are so obnoxious! They are not even the quiet electric carts! These are not younger people driving them either. By looking at the staff in the golf carts most of them are over 50! Also very negative: the high cost, it's gotten ridiculous. Just a couple of years ago we were paying around $42 per night, now it's $100. Awful! We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Second time staying at Hershey Campground, this time was during the Thanksgiving weekend. Campground was at about 1/2 capacity on Thanksgiving.
Shuttle service to park was excellent as usual. (Would have been nice to have Shuttle Service to Chocolate World during the morning but due to Hershey Park being closed that was not an option)
Hershey Park was decorated for Christmas and about a third of the rides were open, and the cost of admission to park was minimal and a great bargain. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed in pull through site with full hookup. Sites very close together. Narrow roads. The pool area looked very nice with a good size to it. The best thing about this park is the free shuttle to Hersheypark, saves a bunch on parking fees. The drive through light display across from the park is worth the $23 price per car to go through. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This was our third visit to this campground over the past 20 years. The convenience of having a shuttle service to the parks and being able to go in an hour before the general public are the only good things I have to say. The sites are small and very close together. The staff apparently doesn't care to enforce rules as long as people have paid the visitor fees. We had a group of 35 (this is not an exaggeration) that had flood lights set up in the site next to us. They were plugged into electrical outlets belonging to two other sites, and they were constantly walking through our site. When asked not to, they claimed to not understand English. I went to the office twice to complain and was basically told that there was nothing they could do because they had paid the visitor fee. Apparently there is no maximum occupancy per site as long as they can collect some money. After my second trip to the office and an argument with the manager and security, they finally went to their site and made them shut the flood lights off. Too little too late. We will definitely not be back. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very tight spaces, like sardines. This is not a camping resort, but
rather a campground to use when visiting Hershey Park, or the
annual RV show. If you are looking to visit the area and the
surrounding Amish countryside, go elsewhere.

I must say that I was very disappointed in the park. As others have said, this is not a resort to stay at if you want relaxation. Fortunately that wasn't why we were there.

We had to move twice because we couldn't get our 38' MH level. We ended up using all the blocks we had and still couldn't get level. The sites were very narrow and I had to maneuver a bit to make sure that I didn't hit the neighbor's picnic table.

We really enjoyed being able to do the Hershey attractions from right in the middle of it all, however. The shuttle to Hershey World was convenient and all the drivers were great. The staff at the park was very friendly. In fact the battery died on my tow car and they jumped me twice.

All in all, I think that the price was way too high for the offering. But if you just want a place to plug in so that you can see the sites without having to drive a long way then it serves that purpose. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Roller coasters and chocolate ..... sweet.
Lots of good adjectives could be used to describe this park but truth be told it's the connection to Hershey Park that's the best part. Having a shuttle to the Amusement Park is a huge benefit. It saves time, money and frustration. Specially in the car parking aspect. Our only negative comment would be the closeness of the railroad tracks. Only about 50 feet from our site.
