We arrived during a heavy rain before the office was officially open. We had to ring a bell for service and it was clear that I annoyed the woman (owner) that helped me who remarked, I can't believe you rang the bell during the rain. (She had to walk across the road in the rain) No escort to the campsite (couldn't find any marker for our site). When we found the site it was occupied by a truck that belonged to a gas line worker who was nowhere to be found. I had to walk back to the office in the rain, find help and had to walk back to the site because the owner passed right by me in his truck and let me walk back to the site in the rain. Talk about hospitality. Nice setting, mostly permanent resident campers, some gas pipeline workers which detract from the camping feel and atmosphere. Recently groomed sites and leveled with fresh gravel. Nice pool, very clean, nicely designed showers but not enough for the size of the campground. Got one cold shower during peak time. Nice lake but 24 hours after heavy rain the boats were still filled with water and unusable till we mentioned it to the help who commented, well it did rain yesterday. Decent game rooms but when we tried to play games the change machine was out of order (probably empty). Overall, nice setting, sites and amenities but management needs to pay more attention to details. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here in a 36' 5th wheel w/3 slides and a F-350 DRW truck. The FHU, pull-thru site was adequate size for the trailer and truck and was level with gravel surface. Picnic table and fire pit at site; 50 amp electric was good; cable TV was good; no satellite reception but over-the-air antenna was ok; could not connect to Verizon WiFi; Verizon cell phone reception was OK. I did not check restrooms/showers so can't comment. The site layout is a little strange; we found ours (#W-2) without too much difficulty but our neighbor really had a problem determining where he should park. There appeared to be a lot of "seasonal" campers. Interior roads are dirt, uphill, and there are a lot of trees but we were able to navigate with no problem. The campground is very rural (approximately 15 miles from I-81); there is a decent sized town (Clarks Summit) about 20 miles away. There are a couple of gas stations, w/diesel fuel, close by. The campground is heavily wooded and is very quiet. Owners/staff were pleasant and helpful. This was a 2 night stopover on our way to southern Pennsylvania. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly owners. Road to camp is a bit rutty. Public road before the camp is very steep. Our Ford Econoline 150 van did not do well on it. Entire camp is located on a steep hill, but it is beautiful with a beautiful pool. My dad wanted to return, but he has a better tow vehicle than we do. If we ever upgrade, I would definitely return. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you have another choice, take it. After hundreds of nights on the road all over the USA and Canada, this park is low on the list. While the staff is nice, the site to which we were assigned had the **strangest** hook-ups for water and sewer we've ever seen. Combine that with the roughest roads in and out we've pulled over in a long time, this is a place to avoid. It is primarily a seasonal community for locals. Too far off the I-81 to make it worth the big dollars for a marginal site. We won't be back. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Shore Forest is off the beaten path, on Pa. Rt. 11, that runs parallel to I-81 in Northern PA. It is near the top of a hill, but, the sites are very level once you get there.

The staff is very friendly, and helpful.

There are full hookups. The facilities are clean. It is like a little village up there.

We have camped there twice and will return whenever we can. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park clean and well kept with our site being spacious and level. Staff was friendly and helpful. A walk about the campground showed many sites large enough for most campers. The park is pet friendly with no issues of noise or waste. We would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Motorhome.

From Hwy 11, a very steep climb to the campground entrance; dated campground. Staff was very friendly. Very nice swimming pool, however the walk to the pool from the campsite passes by two large, open trash bins and open gravel pits. Overall, campground around the office area is unsightly. Bathhouse very clean; showers very nice. Stayed in W19, very small. Verizon reception: 1-2 bars (fair). Very good OTA TV reception, all three major networks. Wi-Fi at the office; had tables to sit down and shade. Not bicycle friendly. Laundry - wash $1.50; dryer $1.00. Dryers were aged. Would not stay here again. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Motorhome.

Six miles off the interstate and we had to stop and ask for instructions. Kind of tight getting to our campsite. Our 5th wheel is 39 feet long. Once we got to the site though it was pretty nice. Some seasonals but they kept their sites beautifully landscaped. Cable reception was good. Quiet that night. Again, it was just a little scary getting in and out because of the length of our rig, but the space we stayed in was excellent, everything worked. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A really nice, comfortable, quiet place. Highly recommended. Narrow, steep road to the location. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Motorhome.

The directions to the park take you down some really narrow, really bumpy, country roads which are tough for any size class A to negotiate. There is another way in which is better for RV's. The park is more of a weekend destination for locals as there are more seasonal rentals than campers stopping by. The bathrooms were clean, but in need of updating. Showers are pay. The "lake" is a pond and definitely not something you would want to be camped near during the summer. We camped at Shore Forest Campground in a Tent Trailer.
