Another year another stay at Hershey for Labor Day. As usual the campground is very nice and accommodating. Stayed in Site 1 again, this site has a great view of the campground; however the steep slope is a constant issue when trying to enjoy the outdoors at the site. Lucky for we stay with a large group and use their sites as the fire pit area. We attended a concert at Hershey Park Stadium during our stay and have to say that it was the most convenient concert venue we have ever attended. Shuttle from the campground dropped you right off at the entrance to Hershey Park Stadium, at the end of the event they had ample buses ready and took us back to the campground very quickly while others were tied up in traffic. I would highly recommend staying at Hershey Campground for a concert! We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

This is a delightful $35/per night park - unfortunately, the price is just over twice that. The sites are snug. What it does have going for it is the connection with Chocolate World and the Hershey amusement park - there is a shuttle bus that takes you from here to the Hershey Parks. Nice pool area that we did not use - as you might expect, it is full of screaming kids during the summer (and probably doing other things in there besides screaming). The sites are narrow enough that you get plenty of smoke from the fires at nearly every site. In the heat. Not cooking anything. But, did I mention the very convenient shuttle bus? We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Of course, the nearby Hershey Park is the reason to be here. Even if not doing the amusement park, there are plenty of things to keep you busy at Chocolate World (interesting historic trolley tour, make your own chocolate bar, chocolate tasting, 4-D movie (mostly for kids)). Decent shopping and restaurants not far from the RV park.

Told the CG we were very long, site we were assigned left us hanging a foot out in the road each end. Park is very nice, but long hike to the restroom/pool/etc. My main complaint is value for the amount charged, other CG's we have stayed in comparable were under $60/night. Would not stay here again because of that. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Truly a resort campground with shuttles to the amusement park and Chocolate World. Friendly staff, camp store has all you need and more. Clean restrooms and the pool was perfect on a hot day. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 nights in site #129, a back in site along the river with E/W. There are plenty of trailers throughout this park, but the roads to get to (and more importantly, INTO) our site are very narrow. We were able to get into the site, but we had to come in from the opposite direction as instructed to have enough room to back in. The site itself was spacious and close to the river. However, we were there to visit the amusement park (which is excellent!), not stay in the campground all day, so it was fine. Kudos to them for providing excellent wifi both in terms of speed and connectivity. We also had full LTE cell service (AT&T). The bath house and laundry (w/ 6 washers and dryers) were clean. There is an easy shuttle from the front of the campground to the front of the amusement park. We would recommend staying here for visiting the attractions. However, be prepared to work to get into your site. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Just a friendly piece of advice! Book early!! We decided to spend Fathers Day at the Sweetest Place on earth and I booked my site 2-weeks earlier. The only spots available were not full hook ups and were more suited for smaller units. When we arrived we were greeted by a chipper park employee who quickly processed our reservation and gave us directions to our site. Our site was long enough and wide enough accommodate a 45 foot unit. The access road was wide enough for me to easily back in without encountering any obstacles. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Spent one night here while in the area. Sites were tight but level. Had to park across the road as the site was too short to park in front of trailer. Water pressure good. Bathroom was clean. Difficult pulling out in the morning as a large class A across the way was not parked correctly so had to wake him up to move it. Tight turns. Don't know about other nearby parks but I would check them out. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is a little expensive for what it is but it works well if you are going to Hershey Park, since they have a free shuttle. The sites are easy to get in and out of but you are packed in. We had enough room for our awning but not much more. Also the pool closed everyday at 6pm, which meant our kids never made it to the pool since we did the park during the day, a little disappointing. We were told the hours are longer in the summer but I consider late June summer and it was plenty hot to swim. Overall still a nice place. I should say this probably would have gotten a higher rating if we didn't follow-up with a top 5 campground in the US :-) We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

If going to Hershey Park, you do get passes that you can use for the last two hours the night before. We didn't plan well enough to use them but wish I would have known in advance about them.

I'd rate this place overall as average. Restrooms and grounds were very clean and maintained much better than average. Stayed in carousel circle, site 207. Access to site is very tight, could be easy but the sewer hookup is in the site rather than off to the side. Had to straddle it with front tires and then sneak my rear tires inside it. Sites are on top of neighbors, to the point there should be no fire rings. Could not fully extend awning due to a tree, and felt like the slide was sticking into the neighbors site. Most sites in the campground aren't very level. The sites furthest from the entrance road and closest to route 39 in carousel circle are the bigger, flatter, nicer ones. We are trying different places in the area while visiting family, not Hersheypark. If you are going to the park maybe the price and convienence are worth the tradeoffs. Not sure if we will be back or not. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We wanted to take our grandson to Hershey and so picked this place out for proximity. Park was near empty when we were there but no discounts. Nice grounds but pool not open yet and even playground at minimum. Shuttle to service to Hershey not running yet as amusement park not open. Full hook up sites very close and must be a mad house in summer. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

We visited this campground in October and found it just good enough to be a home base campground. It is nothing special, but not terrible. We stayed here to see the sites and we drove over to the Amish country and had a great time. It is very safe and easy to get in and out of. Our third stay at Hershey Park Campground, first time not staying in Carousel Circle and loved it even though the train noise was more noticeable this trip. Check in was quick and easy as you didn't even have to enter the building as they had someone by the road as you entered. Site 1 was a little tight side to side due to slope of hill but we made it work. Shuttles to Hershey Park/Chocolate World were great as usual. Re-booked for same weekend again before we left. Very tight sites. We did not even attempt to have a campfire because our fire ring was right up against our neighbors rig. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Shuttle bus to Hershey was excellent, ran constantly, air conditioned and courteous drivers. Pool was nice and had lifeguards that actually took their job seriously . We stayed in the carrousel circle; they really scram you in as most private campgrounds. It was difficult to maneuver, but we didn't have anyone next to us which was really nice. The sites were shady, did not hear to train while sleeping, but we had the air conditioning on both nights. We were able to check in early, no questions asked. Pool was very nice and clean, not much for playground equipment. The shuttle was wonderful, pricey but so convenient. Internet was great! Would definitely stay here again. Great park. The staff is very friendly. The only negative is the space between sites in Carousel Circle. Sites are close, but most campers spend the day away so it is peaceful. Most sites have 4 trees (1 one each corner) so most of the pull thru sites are shaded. Roads are narrow, but easy to navigate for even big rigs. Some folks spread out more than they should, which makes it feel (for those next door) even tighter. Overall, the service we received was top notch: from the shuttle drivers, to the camp store staff and folks that collect your garbage and recycling from the end of your camp site. The shuttle pick-up/drop-off is right next to Carousel Circle making it user friendly for most campers. It would be better if there was a path that cut through the middle, so folks didn't walk through the edge of another person's site.

Hershey Park itself was very nice with more affordable food & drink options than other amusement parks we have visited. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
