Great location. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice restrooms. Only drawback is the sites are extremely close. Would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Lovely quiet campground on a rather level site. We were in shade under a huge tree so didnt need the awning. Staff were very helpful. I would stay here again. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Love the Amish village tour. The Strasburg railway where they had Thomas and Percy. The Lancaster and the Bird In Hand Markets. Best of all was driving around in the late afternoon on all the little country roads looking at the countryside. We saw lots of farmers working with their different farm machinery.

Lovely location with well maintained bathhouse and grounds. We had the park model, cottage and an RV site. The park model was very accommodating for the 5 of us to hang out. The cottage and park model both had air conditioning and everyone was comfortable. The park has a mixture of longer and short term folks, and everyone we met was super nice. I have a class b and had ample space in our RV spot with full hookups. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I attempted to walk down to the shops but the cross road is very busy and has large trucks, as well as horse and buggy and passenger cars with no shoulder. I have two dogs, who are good, but it was too much stopping and not enough shade. I wouldn't advise planning on walking beyond the quiet road the campground sits on.

Overall Rating:

We camped at Beacon Hill Campground for two nights. The campground is very small but lovely. Very well kept and very clean. The sites are tight and close together but the beauty is that you are nestled between two beautiful Amish farms that are breathtaking. The area is very quite, the only sounds are the clicking of the horse and buggies that go by or the sounds of cows mooing while looking down into the farm The bathrooms, showers and laundry area are spotless. Even though the campground feels a little crowded you are also walking distance to the lovely town of Intercourse. We had full hook-ups and wifi (wifi a little slow but ok). We really enjoyed our stay and would return. The best sites are on the upper level. Sites 1 to 9 are the best. The lower level looks more like a crowded parking lot but it can take the bigger rigs. Our site was just long enough for our 28ft. trailer. You are unable to also fit your vehicle, but you can park your vehicle in parking area right across the sites, just a few steps away. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

Many things to do in the area too many to list. Visiting nearby towns a real treat. The Amish farms and people are extraordinary. We did a tour of the Amish Farmlands with the Amish Experience. Visit Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse quaint little shops with local shopping. Also many shops along main road. Go have dinner at the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord, excellent food at reasonable price. For us this was a wonderful vacation just sorry we did not stay longer.

Well run, pleasant park. Our front window overlooked a field where we saw the farmer tilling with a team of mules, and the quiet side road with the clip clip of the occasional horse and buggy. The side/rear windows overlooked the lovely countryside. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here before, and would like to return. Agree with the last several posts, good location and friendly people in the heart of Amish country. We had what I would describe as a pull in, back out site. The interior road can be quite tight because of parked vehicles. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wonderful little campground. It is a quiet adult park with gravel spots. The sites are a bit tight but it was easy to get into. The campground is across from a working farm. and close to Intercourse. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well. There is lots of shade here and that is a two edged sword as I could not get a DTV signal but there was plenty of over the air stations to pull in. Wifi was acceptable but slow. I have stayed here before and would stay here again. It is a place to go for a quiet time in the campground and to see the area sites as well. This was the 8th State on our travels. Intercourse is the heart of Amish country and very cool place to see. Many Amish shops nearby. Sites 2, 3, and 4 are probably the best and shadiest. Sites are fairly small. Friendly staff, friendly campers, definitely would stay here again. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent park-albeit a bit expensive. Immaculate, landscaped grounds, level sites that can be a bit of a challenge to get into with larger rigs. We stayed on a beautiful site at the top of the park. Great views of nearby Amish farms and lots of large shade trees. Extremely peaceful and relaxing. Made a perfect base for two days of exploring the nearby countryside. Tips for other Campers:

Highly recommend eating at the New Holland Family Diner. Great food (all you can eat ribs on Mondays) and plentiful salad bar for far less than the better known nearby Amish Buffet style restaurants. Also, don't miss a trip to Lapp Dairy Farm their homemade ice cream. Kids will enjoy seeing their calves and watching the milking process in a dairy barn that is immaculate.

Nice, right in the middle of all the activity if that's what you're after. It's tight, about 15' between our door and our neighbor's utilities. But there was a small fence section with a rhododendron in front of it, so unobtrusive. The view behind our rig was pretty, rolling hills and horses. It was nice to sit in the dog run and watch the people and buggies go by. Coffee to buy and DVD's to borrow in the office, and books and magazines in the very clean laundry room. I don't know why I was surprised that the area is so commercialized. I would recommend staying off the main drag, seek out the out lying places. Don't miss the train museum in Strasburg; I thought I would be bored but it was great - for a history buff like me.

We stayed in an rv site and rented the park model for our parents. What a nice place! The site was level and immaculate, and the park model pristine. There is no pool, playground, game room.....it's perfect! Nice and relaxing, but very convenient to shopping and sight seeing. We will definitely stay there again. This is the second time we have stayed here, we stayed years previously in a tent. As before, we found the campground to be an excellent place to stay, centrally located in touristy Lancaster County, with a well maintained and sparkling clean bath house, and quiet in the evening. The only issue we had was the odd encounter with the camp host, who at about 11PM in the evening came over to our site. My wife was reading a book and I was just relaxing, watching the fire. He told us quiet hours were at 10PM and seemed to indicate that we should not have a fire going. I said that I didn't see anything in the park rules about not having a fire after that point, to which he replied that we just had to be sure not to leave it burning when we went to bed. It was just a very odd and not a very friendly encounter. The site itself was good, a level back-in site, though short was plenty of room for our small unit, and at least offered a decent space width wise. Water and electric were good, and wifi was excellent. The campground itself sits on two levels, with the office surrounded by the smaller sites on the upper level. There is a nice overlook garden with benches and a communal fire pit there as well as a pavilion. The lower level has longer sites for big rigs, many seems very narrow though. Overall it was a good stay. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our campground. We appreciate you coming back to Beacon Hill. I am so sorry about your encounter with the camp host. We do allow fires at all hours as long as they are attended to as you were doing. I apologize for what happened. As the owners, we are here to address any concerns that come up and would have happily addressed this issue during your stay. Our goal is that all of our campers have an enjoyable stay at Beacon Hill. We hope to see you again!

In August 2015 I wrote a review that missed the mark. I gave 4-1/2 stars instead of what should have been 5! I must have been in a bad mood because as far as I'm concerned this place is Heaven in every way! I used to stay one week a year. This year I am looking so forward to THREE weeks here in my favorite spot. Even doing laundry doesn't bother me in their sparkling clean laundry room. As many other have stated, the sites are small as in: we were just able to park our jeep across the front of our rig. Our site was a pull through, very interesting layout, the street is a dead end and you simply pull in off the road to the site. There are additional back in sites across from the pull through sites. Some appear to be seasonal as they have a deck. CG is quiet.

We were visited Saturday afternoon by a young Amish girl pulling a wagon full of fresh baked goods and jams. Bought a ShooFly Pie, a jar of Chow-Chow and a jar of strawberry jam. Very good!! We did not avail ourselves of any of the facilities, but given how nicely everything else is kept, I am confident they are also up to par. The person that checked us in was exceedingly pleasant. We would stay here again. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Nice Base Camp for Pennsylvania Dutch area. Small sites, once trailer on site could not leave truck there, hard to park in lot or on street behind campground.
