This is a wonderful little campground. It is a quiet adult park with gravel spots. The sites are a bit tight but it was easy to get into. The campground is across from a working farm. and close to Intercourse. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well. There is lots of shade here and that is a two edged sword as I could not get a DTV signal but there was plenty of over the air stations to pull in. Wifi was acceptable but slow. I have stayed here before and would stay here again. It is a place to go for a quiet time in the campground and to see the area sites as well. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Excellent park-albeit a bit expensive. Immaculate, landscaped grounds, level sites that can be a bit of a challenge to get into with larger rigs. We stayed on a beautiful site at the top of the park. Great views of nearby Amish farms and lots of large shade trees. Extremely peaceful and relaxing. Made a perfect base for two days of exploring the nearby countryside. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Highly recommend eating at the New Holland Family Diner. Great food (all you can eat ribs on Mondays) and plentiful salad bar for far less than the better known nearby Amish Buffet style restaurants. Also, don't miss a trip to Lapp Dairy Farm their homemade ice cream. Kids will enjoy seeing their calves and watching the milking process in a dairy barn that is immaculate.

This was the 8th State on our travels. Intercourse is the heart of Amish country and very cool place to see. Many Amish shops nearby. Sites 2, 3, and 4 are probably the best and shadiest. Sites are fairly small. Friendly staff, friendly campers, definitely would stay here again. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

This is the second time we have stayed here, we stayed years previously in a tent. As before, we found the campground to be an excellent place to stay, centrally located in touristy Lancaster County, with a well maintained and sparkling clean bath house, and quiet in the evening. The only issue we had was the odd encounter with the camp host, who at about 11PM in the evening came over to our site. My wife was reading a book and I was just relaxing, watching the fire. He told us quiet hours were at 10PM and seemed to indicate that we should not have a fire going. I said that I didn't see anything in the park rules about not having a fire after that point, to which he replied that we just had to be sure not to leave it burning when we went to bed. It was just a very odd and not a very friendly encounter. The site itself was good, a level back-in site, though short was plenty of room for our small unit, and at least offered a decent space width wise. Water and electric were good, and wifi was excellent. The campground itself sits on two levels, with the office surrounded by the smaller sites on the upper level. There is a nice overlook garden with benches and a communal fire pit there as well as a pavilion. The lower level has longer sites for big rigs, many seems very narrow though. Overall it was a good stay. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our campground. We appreciate you coming back to Beacon Hill. I am so sorry about your encounter with the camp host. We do allow fires at all hours as long as they are attended to as you were doing. I apologize for what happened. As the owners, we are here to address any concerns that come up and would have happily addressed this issue during your stay. Our goal is that all of our campers have an enjoyable stay at Beacon Hill. We hope to see you again!

We stayed in an rv site and rented the park model for our parents. What a nice place! The site was level and immaculate, and the park model pristine. There is no pool, playground, game room.....it's perfect! Nice and relaxing, but very convenient to shopping and sight seeing. We will definitely stay there again. Nice, right in the middle of all the activity if that's what you're after. It's tight, about 15' between our door and our neighbor's utilities. But there was a small fence section with a rhododendron in front of it, so unobtrusive. The view behind our rig was pretty, rolling hills and horses. It was nice to sit in the dog run and watch the people and buggies go by. Coffee to buy and DVD's to borrow in the office, and books and magazines in the very clean laundry room. I don't know why I was surprised that the area is so commercialized. I would recommend staying off the main drag, seek out the out lying places. Don't miss the train museum in Strasburg; I thought I would be bored but it was great - for a history buff like me.

In August 2015 I wrote a review that missed the mark. I gave 4-1/2 stars instead of what should have been 5! I must have been in a bad mood because as far as I'm concerned this place is Heaven in every way! I used to stay one week a year. This year I am looking so forward to THREE weeks here in my favorite spot. Even doing laundry doesn't bother me in their sparkling clean laundry room. Nice Base Camp for Pennsylvania Dutch area. Small sites, once trailer on site could not leave truck there, hard to park in lot or on street behind campground. Amish family came around on Friday and Saturday evening to sell baked goods. Cool Experience, tasted good too. Very close to Kitchen Kettle Shops. Outlet shopping 15 minutes away. As many other have stated, the sites are small as in: we were just able to park our jeep across the front of our rig. Our site was a pull through, very interesting layout, the street is a dead end and you simply pull in off the road to the site. There are additional back in sites across from the pull through sites. Some appear to be seasonal as they have a deck. CG is quiet.

We were visited Saturday afternoon by a young Amish girl pulling a wagon full of fresh baked goods and jams. Bought a ShooFly Pie, a jar of Chow-Chow and a jar of strawberry jam. Very good!! We did not avail ourselves of any of the facilities, but given how nicely everything else is kept, I am confident they are also up to par. The person that checked us in was exceedingly pleasant. We would stay here again. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Tight campground in the heart of Amish Country. Kind caretakers who were helpful. The hosts provided me a site where I could back in my fifth wheel easily. Some sites might be tough to back in due to the set up of the campground, nonetheless; I can highly recommend due to the location and price. Intercourse is the perfect jumping off point to gain the "Amish" experience. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Fifth Wheel.

An Amish family came around at night offering baked and canned goods at reasonable prices. Not good for my weight, but good for the soul. There are a few bus tours that we enjoyed. A place called "The Amish Experience" provides tour packages.

Stayed here two weeks in June 2016 and found it to be an excellent place from which to tour Lancaster County and surrounding areas. Reasonably close to places such as Longwood Gardens; even Philadelphia for a day trip is not out of the question depending upon your feelings about using a "home base" from which to tour. However, we mostly toured the Amish area. The campground was well-kept, service was excellent and the owners were very friendly and responsive. It is quiet; getting into certain spaces can be a bit tight. We would absolutely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Travel Trailer.

You'll enjoy eating your way through the Amish country! Great roadside farms for fresh fruits and veggies; many places to buy excellent baked goods. Countryside Roadstand on Stumptown Road has the best soft pretzels around! Several very good smorgasboards close by--Shady Maple was excellent the two times we went.

We stayed here for one night on the way home from Washington DC. Very nice small campground with good access and within walking distance to the village of intercourse. The campground sits on a hill overlooking a working Amish farm across the road. The service was great, very nice people, reasonable rates, very clean facilities. We were sitting by the fire at dusk when the amish people passed by on their buggies not 20 feet away and gave you a nod, a smile, and a wave as they passed by.

We were in the upper section with our 31' motor home. There was some shade on our site. The sites were tight as stated in previous reviews but doable. I would most definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area and would stay here again if we were to return. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.

Location, Location, Location is what it has going for it. Walking distance into Intercourse. Proximity close to roads and highway. Sites very close together and our site was extremely un-level. Termed a pull-thru but there was no possible way I was going to be able to navigate twisty descending un-level road way to use site as a pull through with a 40ft fiver. Transition from road to site was so un-level that ladder and hydraulic stabilizer dragged ground and I had to put wood under my wheels to raise fiver to leave site without damaging fiver as I pulled out. Truly don't see this campground as practical for units over about 36ft. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Fifth Wheel.

We have been to this park twice this year. The park is small and so are the spots. We were there over Labor Day and the park was full. We had to move our truck several times to help people get in and out. They do have several pull thru spots that accommodated a 42+ Prevost next to us and the office does a good job matching your size with the right spot. Bathrooms were always clean and the laundry room looked new with large washers and dryers. There is wifi, but no cable. It was not an issues since there were many over the air channels. We enjoy this park because you can walk the 1/2 mile to the main part of Intercourse. It also directly across the street from an Amish farm. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching them harvest the corn with the manual farm equipment and horses. There are always horses and buggy's going up and down the main street to town. In addition, we had several visits from Amish women and kids that were selling pies, root beer, cookies and other treats. We never felt pressured to purchase anything, but we could never pass it up. Everything is tasty and enjoyable. We will always come back to this park when we visit Intercourse and the surrounding areas. We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Fifth Wheel.

A unique and delightful campground, not a fancy resort.
Right next to a working Amish farm, with all the smells and
activity related to a farm. Tight spaces, but not a problem
in or out. Perfect location to visit Intercourse and the
surrounding area. Quiet, picturesque, bucolic rural campground.
The clip-clop of horse drawn carriages thru the day and central
location to visit the area makes this a wonderful place to
stay. We will be back.... We camped at Beacon Hill Campground (Ages16+) in a Motorhome.
