Pymatuning state park in PA has two campgrounds - Jamestown and Linesville. There is also an Ohio state park campground on the Ohio side of the lake. Linesville is the smaller of the two PA campgrounds. Jamestown sites were good sized and not too close together. There was a lot of mud due to rain, but it looked like mud is likely a problem normally. The non-electric sites were typically the muddiest. Jamestown camp host rec Linesville 200 if going there. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Tent.

We make at least 4 weekend trips to the Jamestown Campground of Pymatuning Lake in Northwestern Pennsylvania, Route 322, Jamestown, PA 16134. It is one of, if not the largest state owned campgrounds in Pennsylvania with 330 sites. Many sites with full hookups are available and over half of the sites have electricity. We find it to be well kept, clean, and quiet. They have one entire loop for pet owners. Since we do not bring our pets, we don't have to listen to incessant barking. The beach is clean and maintained for swimming. There is also a new playground facility for the kids. We enjoy walking on the paved roads, speaking to other guests, and always a late afternoon walk to the camp store for a delicious ice cream treat before starting our evening campfire. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp sites are mostly small and grass. It had rained hard the day of our arrival and many spots had several inches of standing water. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Motorhome.

I happen to really enjoy the Pennsylvania State Park system. My first camping as a youth was with my parents in a tent. We always camped in Pa parks. It is nice to see the upgrades. Particularly with W/S/E in the Pa park system. We camped in the first weekend in May. Any time you camp above I-80 you can expect chilly weather...especially in NW Pa. WE had some rain and our site happened to do well. Campers across and below our site did not do so well. Our site had water / sewer / and electric (20/30/50 available. Our site was clean, though the fire ring was a mess with unburned trash. Backing in wasn't too terribly difficult. Though the angle required help from campers next door. Our site only required minor blocking to level the camper side to side. A lot of gravel was present. Our table was new, and our site was decently big. Our closest neighbor was on the drivers side of our camper, so no problem there. The site was big enough for our drivers slide out and canopy to be easily extended. We did not feel crowded at all. Water pressure was good, electric box was modern, sewer opening was all in a very convenient accessible spot. We were in the dog friendly section and no problem with other animals. We were able to get our dog on an abandoned rail system across the street. We like to let him run unleashed when possible. Pymatuning Lake was 200 yards away so we got to let him swim in the lake. The lady at the office was courteous and helpful. Other than the rain it was a great stay. We will be back. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The lady at check in was wonderful, cheerful, and super helpful. My site was loaded with dog poop, including in my fire pit. I enjoy camping with dogs, and do not understand irresponsible owners my flight was loaded with dog poop not including in my fire pit. The site should have been looked at by staff. Camp host were nowhere to be seen in the 3 days I was here. Bathrooms were OK. Could use some bleach but generally OK. Price kind of high for what it is. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

This is a huge (600 sites?) campground located about 20 miles off I-77 on Pymatuning Reservoir. Camping with pets is allowed in two of the loops (100-150 and 201-252). We were here on a Monday night and it looked as if the weekend had been busy. There had also been a windstorm the previous Thursday that blew down trees and limbs. We chose a site off the lakeside because it was level and we did not have to unhitch. The site had not been swept and I cleaned up paper towels and other trash. The fire-ring was filthy with partially burned food and trash. We walked around the loop before deciding to stay, but other sites were not any cleaner. The restroom and showers appeared to be clean. The camphost did not return our greeting then or the next morning, just looked away when we spoke to him. Despite all this, we would stay here again. It is a pretty place that is under maintained, but this may be due to budgetary problems. The office staff was very helpful and we had a good night's sleep. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park with large, level campsites. We had a great view of Pymatuning Lake and enjoyed watching the boaters out cruising and kids splashing in the swimming area. Each area of the campground has a restroom/shower and laundry facilities just a short walk away. We had a satellite friendly site but were also able to pick up quite a few local stations over the air. Our Verizon had a strong signal so using the phone or MiFi wasn't a problem. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a family friendly place for reunions or other such gatherings. Take note though: The Jamestown Campground is located 2 1/2 miles from the Pymatuning State Park headquarters. If you call the park you can get the exact address for your gps. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park for taking in the outdoors. There is not much in the form of activities but the park is great to hike and bike in. The lake is ok for swimming and small boats. There also is a small sandy beach. The showers are old but fairly clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is an animal park minutes away that is well worth the admission price. Don't forget to feed the fish at Linesville. The kids love this! This park is only an hour from home so we will be back. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Weren't many sites available as per the person that I spoke with to make reservations, but there were a lot of sites open when we got there ... we were assigned to a fairly wet site ... not sure why ... we used a high spot on the site to pitch a tent ... it all worked out ok ... restrooms and showers were clean ... park people were friendly ... close-by trails to lake and fishing ... will probably go back again. We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Tent.

Very nice for overnight. There is a beach, but its pretty cluttered with lake debris. There is a small playground, adequate for little ones up to 10. Camp hosts are great - singing by the campfire with them was a highlight. Lots are spacious. Nice place, clean facility! We camped at Pymatuning State Park in a Travel Trailer.
