21 RV Parks near Lehighton, Pennsylvania
Aug 2016 - $40.00
The CG is a few miles off 476 so it might be a tad long for an overnight, which we were. Germans Road to the CG is narrow and only wide enough for one big rig at a time.
CG is immaculate with a nice pool area and children's playground. All sites are back in. The transients are in the back of the CG with easy maneuverability for most big rigs. We were fortunate that there was no truck with the fifth wheel across the street from us so getting into the site was easy, otw it would have been a challenge for our 45 footer.
Wide, level gravel site plus a nice area of grass with a picnic table and even a designated space for the tow. It gives you a feeling of space. WES all fine and excellent wifi. Good 50 amp service with very hot summer temperatures.
Most of the CG is made of permanent, well maintained units. Have no idea what is around the area. - Team Asphalt
Aug 2016 - $38.00
If you are looking for a quiet campground, this is an excellent choice. We hardly ever saw anyone let alone heard someone. The sites are spacious, level, and full hook-up. They are stone and gravel with a large strip of grass between sites. All had picnic benches and a fire ring.
There is a pool and a play area for kids, but we didn't see many kids here. This campground is on a hill so bicycling would probably be a challenge given the roads are also stone and gravel.
Many of the sites are seasonal, but everyone we met was very friendly. - JC06
May 2016 - $45.00
Decent gravel roads (watch for speed bumps) throughout the campground with no low hanging tree branches. No pull thru's, but the site we had there was room to back in. I believe we were in D6 and we were in a 36 ft motorhome. They have a separate gravel spot next to the camper to pull your car in which is nice. Sites are decent size and gravel. New picnic tables. Not a lot of privacy, but a decent space between campers. Water pressure, 50 amp electric and cable all worked great. Many seasonal sites, but everyone was friendly and helpful including the staff and owner. Relaxing and quiet. Stores (yes a Walmart) and restaurants about 20 minutes in one direction, 30 minutes in opposite direction. Advise you arrive before dark. Off of a one lane road, and the mile drive up German Rd to the actual campground is dark, you're driving through mostly woods. We saw an entire herd of deer coming up German Rd in our car one evening. Would definitely go back the next time we're in the area. If they had pull thru's and had their roads finished (they're working on them, still a few rough patches) I'd have gone with a 10 rating. - JoppaFolks
Aug 2016 - $60.00
First off I want to say that the staff at this campground are great. Very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately that's where the positive review ends. We were there this past week for several days to enjoy activities in Jim Thorpe. We rented (and were assigned) cabin #4. It was hands-down the filthiest cabin we have rented in over 20 years of camping. It was dark, dank, and simply uninviting. The ceiling fan was so dirty that we dared not turn it on to keep the dirt from being flung all over the place. The pools were even worse. The adult pool was murky and the children's pool was dirty. It was very obvious that the man in charge of maintaining the campground (owners son) was overwhelmed and not able to keep up with maintaining this facility. Quiet hours were not enforced during our entire stay. We had the misfortune of being 2 cabins away from a bunch of drunks who could care less about their surroundings and partied every night till 2 AM. This campground has potential but they need to hire more people in order to make it happen. Please keep in mind I'm basing my review on cabin #4 (as well as the cabin next to it, those folks weren't happy either) and have no opinion on the RV or tent areas. - elopez412
May 2016 - $60.00
Our site was shaded, not level, very small and not maintained. Roads are narrow and not clearly defined, hard to navigate. Lost electric 3 occasions.
Owners were pleasant. Would not camp here again. - dkiefer
May 2016 - $51.00
It is pretty much the only game in town, campground-wise. Good location with proximity to Jim Thorpe town, mtn. biking, ATV riding, whitewater rafting. Campground looks pretty much unchanged over the past 30 years--and as I've been going to JThorpe for 30 years, can confirm it's not much different. It's "rustic", but passable. It's not a "resort" by any stretch, or even close to KOA standards, but it gets the job done. Best attributes are what's around it--streams, mtns, J Thorpe, and all it offers. - jmelaw
Jul 2016 - $45.00
Large campground on the side of a large hill. Lots of permanently situated RVs. All seemed to be well taken care of. Weekend was very busy and most if not all spaces full. Pool looked nice. Lots of open area for walking dogs, but definitely up and down! Charged extra to run AC!! Supposed to have 50 amp, but wound up with 30, which we made work as the office staff seemed a bit over whelmed.
Electric and water ok, wifi not much. Had some difficulty with leveling. Thank goodness someone had left a homemade step. We needed it to get in and out. - Motorhome girl
May 2016 - $37.00
We needed a 50 amp site and originally was assigned a 30 amp buddy site, however it was quickly remedied. Our site was spacious on a mix of sand and grass with a picnic table and fire ring. We were here just before Memorial Day so we had a whole section all to ourselves! The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained and very quiet. We did peak into the restrooms and laundry which were both very old and tired. the service was great! This is a great location to get around to points of interest. - Tony Connie and Rusty
Sep 2015 - $36.00
A really nice campsite, lots of amenities for families and groups/rallies and very nice pool. Very friendly helpful owners. Limited restrooms and showers for the size site but very clean. Our site rather narrow, no free wifi or cable. Great views and location for a peaceful retreat. We would recommend. - Harris England
Jul 2017 - $55.00
This KOA is not what we expected! Somewhat on the trashy side. We were at site 48 in the back near a creek. The smell was horrible!! A cross between sewer and dead fish!! We couldn't even sit outside! I would never choose this campground again and would not recommend it to anyone. Thankfully we were just passing through and only had to endure this 1 night!! - M flynn
Jun 2017 - $51.00
Our site was a pull through buddy site. Not much room between us and the site next to ours. We stayed in site 61 and it faced into site 60. Would be great if you are camping with someone else, but was a little awkward when someone else was at the other site. Had what I assume where seasonal sites, but they were not very well taken care of. We stayed in the middle of the week so it was not very crowded. The road in is very narrow, as are some of the turns in the campground. - nnonnemacher
Apr 2017 - $51.00
Great ambiance in a uniquely designed park. Built into a small mountain valley with a pleasant running stream, sites range up and down the sides of the valley. Quiet (perhaps because of their puritan views of alcohol - it is banned in the park), but also early in the season. Loved our stay! - EnjoyinLife
Jun 2017 - $43.00
Beautiful park with lots of shade and trails. Clean and updated tile bathrooms. Modern playground. 2 night stay. Would stay again. - Rob Oglesby
Apr 2017 - $22.00
We were here early in the season. The park is not well-suited to RV's. There were several places where tree branches were left to grow over the roadways at a height that interfered with our TT. We are only 10' 6" tall, but the branches were still an issue. Aside from that, we had a nice stay. Lots of sites. Quiet. Friendly people running the place. You have to see the Boulder Field! Price reflects a non-hookup site and senior discount. - eduJamesE
Jul 2016 - $45.00
Stayed here to visit friends nearby. Was a very nice SP. As noted, the roads there off interstate are narrow and hilly, but doable. Also as noted, signage in the park could use some work, but once we got to our site, it was fine. Didn't notice road noise behind us on 534, but we mostly stay inside. We had partial shade, but some sites are open. We were in pet section. Other sections are really wooded, so it just depends. Site was 50 amp, FHU, and was level. Decent space between sites. We were able to get OTA channels and had good Verizon coverage. We would stay there again when in the area. - Gayle E.
May 2012 - $31.00
This place was a little tricky to find but, glad we did! It's all wooded with a small lake and just a few amenities, good old fashioned camping. This place is not for big rigs but, the sites are decent size, bath house was reasonably clean and close to all sites and had lots of showers. It's quiet, away from traffic, maybe a best kept secret! - 88camper
Jul 2008 - $28.00
This is the worst campground I've ever been to in my life. Website shows nice pictures of the playground, pool , and gameroom. Those pictures had to be a couple years old. Gameroom is closed and full of junk. Pool was a nice shade of green. Playground was not taken care of and missing different pieces. The bathrooms weren't cleaned except dumping the garbage and the showers were pathetic. Two of the seven shower stalls worked; however, they were filthy and no hot water. Sites were a decent size but not taken care of. Broken picnic tables throughout campground including ours and exposed steel thru-out coming out of the ground from falling apart retaining walls. This is a real hazard to children. I would not go back here if it was free. For $28 I expect more. Its worth about 5 bucks. And lake in picture is only a pond , roads throughout were terrible. - Jim Carp
Jul 2016 - $38.00
Evergreen is a real camping experience for families. Go hiking on the trails 1/2 mile down the road, swim at the lake, ride bikes, play ball in the field. Campground is clean and well kept. quiet hours are 10pm-8am and you may walk your pets around the campground on leash. The staff is friendly and expect campers to read and obey the rules so everyone has an enjoyable experience. There are grocery stores and eateries within 15 minutes either direction Bath/Windgap. Saylorsburg flea market is approx. 20 minutes away. Pocono raceway is within 30 minutes of the campground. The camp office has ice/candy/ice cream/snacks/sunscreen/repellents etc. - sassy67
Jun 2016 - $38.00
I have been camping at Evergreen lake for the last ten years. It is a beautifully kept campground and the rules are fair. Quite hours are from 11pm to 8am which is nice. My dogs enjoy their walks around the campground. Very nice place, I recommend it to all. - BL2006
Mar 2015 - $35.00
The campground is very clean and quiet. The staff is very nice. There are many activities on the weekends and the beach area is very clean. We enjoyed the mini golf also. I've been camping here for nine years and love it. My pets also enjoy taking walks around the campgrounds. - BL2006
Aug 2016 - $34.00
Older campground with mostly seasonal campers. We were treated great during check-in. Wi-Fi is secure but doesn't work at the campsite. - Bburgbrewer
Jul 2016 - $34.00
This was just an overnight stay for us. We received a GS + a cash discount. The campground is in the woods, deep woods. I am not sure we would fit excepts in the overnight spots. A lot of permanents(weekend type) so happy we were there during the weekend. A typical family cg. Easy in/out, close to hwy. - Wandering
May 2016 - $39.00
This was a delightful campground with lots of trees and winding pathways to make you feel like you truly had "gotten away from it all." Wifi was very good as was cell phone signal. All hookups worked fine. This is a gated community with most of the campground full of permanent trailers for those weekend visitors. There wasn't much to see in the area but to just kick back, enjoy a campfire, listen to the birds, and relax. The season doesn't start till Memorial Day so the campground was not yet in full swing. The pool was closed and maintenance folks were getting things ready. The laundry machines worked well. The game room had the rattiest looking pair of paddles on the table tennis table and no ball to be found. - Melodycthomas

Jul 2010 - $54.00
We stayed here over race weekend and for a campground that is 2 miles from the track it should have been packed, but it was not full at all. We had to move to a different site because the one we were in was uneven and the auto level for the motorhome wouldn't level us. The second site wasn't much better but we leveled. The site itself was tight and we had no space on the side to set up chairs. With only 20 amp service you can't run electric water heater and a/c without blowing a fuse. We were only able to get 3 channels on TV via the antenna. The roads are narrow and to exit our site to leave campground I had to back up twice in order to make the turn. The interior roads are in need of some repairs. Some people who were registered guests had to leave their car in parking lot and walk to there site because there was no one to let them in when they returned from race at 7 o'clock. The campground made no arrangements to get these people in. The mini golf course is poorly maintained and not worth the money to play. If you are going to the race and do not have to spend to much time in the campground, this place will be OK, otherwise I would find someplace else. - Tom M
Jun 2009 - $38.00
We just arrived home from our camping trip in the Poconos. We had a great time at the campground. The bathrooms were super clean and the staff were very friendly. I love going to a campground that has trees and is not a field. This was a true campground and allowed us to really enjoy nature. We even saw some deer, lots of chipmunks, turkeys, and rabbits during our stay. The sites can be tight if you do not know how to back in and it did take us a couple tries to get into our site, but it was very worth it. Our site had a beautiful rock wall and fire pit. My kids had a great time too. We hiked up to the tower and once you get up there, there are so many hiking trails to take. The swimming pool is only open for the afternoon, but the weather isn't really warm enough to go in the evening or morning. We had a great time and we booked another weekend for August. I would recommend this campground to anyone! - campinglori
Jun 2009 - $38.00
If being in the woods is what you like in a campground then this is the campground for you. The sites are of various sizes and shapes and blend well with the geography of the area. The pool is also very nice. They have gated access and card keys are available for a deposit on non-race weekends. If you don't wish to leave a deposit for a key you must walk in to your site after office hours. The proximity to Pocono Raceway seems to dictate much policy at this campground, but a non-race weekend is very serene. The staff was friendly and they have a full service RV store. We would definitely camp here again. - mojo894
