1 Park near Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania
Sep 2015 - $54.00
It is a lovely park with great facilities. However, most sites we have stayed on over the years allowed 4 people per site in the cost. They charge for over 2 people which I could not find on their website. We also had a very bad experience with the sewer. When we arrived we heard a camper complain that their tank was full. We didn't think much of it until the 3rd day of our 5 day stay. We noticed a bad odor when we used the water. On the 4th day we noticed that water was "bubbling up" under the camper whenever we ran the water, so my husband took the cap off the sewer and it was clear to the top. We left a day early. I stopped at the office on the way out and told them of the issue and we were offered another site, but by that point our rug and everything we had stored under the camper was covered in sewer water and we just wanted to get home and clean everything. Re-setting back up was not an attractive alternative. We were never offered any sort of refund. - almar4evr

Spent 6 nights, 7 days at Otter Lake Campground. You definitely want to arrive in daylight as the road in is a narrow two lane, curvy, hilly, no shoulder road with deer. Once here the Lake immediately grabs your eye, pristine and gorgeous. Check in was smooth, only issue (and it is becoming a trend among campgrounds) is that the site includes only two adults, each child is an additional $6/day; that adds up quickly.
Sites are clean and well shaded, the campground roads are paved. Bathrooms were cleaned well and shower rooms were too. Only thing my wife disliked was the showers work on a pressure release button so you have to keep pushing to keep the water coming.
Two pools, one indoor, another outdoor (with diving board and slide). Lake swimming and canoe rentals ($6.50/hr for up to 4 people). Bring your tennis rackets or racket ball equipment as they have two outdoor, well lit racquetball a courts and four tennis courts.
Bikes are a must for enjoyable riding throughout the large park.

We stayed here in a 32 foot fifth wheel. We were able to use the Marshall Creek Road due to bridge being repaired. It is a narrow, winding, 7 mile, two lane road with no shoulder on either side and lots of pot holes; so take your time and be careful and you will be fine. Look for a sign for the campground 1000 feet from the entrance which will be on your left. We stayed on lot c-11 and we were very happy with this location. Our site was wide and spacious but we did have to level our RV. All sites seemed to be very spacious. All roads are paved and the sites are gravel. It rained for two days while we were here and there was no standing water= good drainage. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned every morning. The showers are two rooms (shower/changing room) showers are very small. It is tight if you shower with a youngster and you have to keep pushing a button to turn on the water. I did notice a handicapped shower in another area. There are two laundry rooms with an adequate number of washers and dryers, they looked new and were all in working order. Laundry room was very clean. They have lots of activities, such as ceramics and archery, magic shows, movies, music and more. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Seasonal campers are friendly and a good resource as we met someone who had been camping there for 27 years. No golf carts are allowed, so bring your bike this is a huge campground and it was very busy when we were here. There are no life guards, however they do have people to enforce the rules, as my kids learned some enforcers are more lenient than others, but it is necessary to make sure rules are enforced and I was happy to have them there. The pools were more popular than the beach, but the beach looked nice. We chose to go to the Poconos to get away from the Maryland heat and we were not disappointed. We would definitely go here again as we were not able to see and do everything that we wanted to do in the area. - shar1435
