1 Park near Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania
Nov 2015 - $48.00
This is my favorite Poconos campground by far. It's a little more expensive . But, we have stayed in more expensive parks that simply do not compare to Otter Lake. Wooded with good size lots. There is a lot to do here and the lake is beautiful.
Open year round and they keep the water on a long as the weather holds. The water was on 2nd weekend of November. Call ahead and be prepared.
Our neighbors were first time winter campers, planning to snowmobile. Reportedly there are trails nearby.
Very clean restrooms and showers.
Backing your camper into a spot can be tricky, with so many trees and large buried boulders about. Ask the front desk what is the best direction to approach your site for easier maneuvering.
Sites are level with small gravel. There are seasonals. All appear well kept and Otter Lake does not feel like a trailer park. It feels like the resort campground that it is supposed to be.
We didn't use it, but the heated indoor pool (open year-round) looks really nice.
There is actually cell phone service (2 bars-Verizon LTE) and their WiFi is free and is the best that we have experienced. It just works without any annoying passwords or pop-ups. - rvparkreviews_cc

It is a lovely park with great facilities. However, most sites we have stayed on over the years allowed 4 people per site in the cost. They charge for over 2 people which I could not find on their website. We also had a very bad experience with the sewer. When we arrived we heard a camper complain that their tank was full. We didn't think much of it until the 3rd day of our 5 day stay. We noticed a bad odor when we used the water. On the 4th day we noticed that water was "bubbling up" under the camper whenever we ran the water, so my husband took the cap off the sewer and it was clear to the top. We left a day early. I stopped at the office on the way out and told them of the issue and we were offered another site, but by that point our rug and everything we had stored under the camper was covered in sewer water and we just wanted to get home and clean everything. Re-setting back up was not an attractive alternative. We were never offered any sort of refund. - almar4evr

The road in to this campground is narrow, windy, and straight up for 7 miles. I honestly didn't think we were going to make it. There is no shoulder so we couldn't even pull over to disconnect the car or let all of the vehicles behind us pass. When we checked in, I commented to the staff that they should tell people when they are booking motorhome sites that the road in is not motorhome friendly. I was informed that there was a better route than what comes up on GPS. We traveled that road for the few days we were there and it was much better. Why wouldn't you alert people to this either on the website or when someone books a site. Lesson learned though - I will always ask when booking a site at any campground if there are any travel concerns or GPS warnings. Once there, we had trouble getting to our site because of unattended children on bikes purposely riding in front of us and even leaving a bike in the middle of the road. This is a nice campground with large sites, but could use some updating. If we decide to go back to the area, I think we will choose a different campground. - Bonnie66
