Erie KOA is probably a lovely park to stay in during the summer season if you have young children and an RV smaller than 40 feet, or wanted to make use of their cool-looking teepees or basic cabins for rent. We, however, have a 40 foot motorhome and found the park layout extremely difficult to navigate. We were warned not to attempt exiting past the dump station, as it apparently is quite hard on RV owners who risk it. Our assigned site was angled exactly the wrong way to follow the approved exit path, but with some maneuvering we were able to get our rig pointed the right way and our tow car hooked up. Even though our space was a pull-thru, it would have been impossible to leave the car hooked up. This park does recycle. The dumpster for that purpose is located behind a fence at the back of the property. Cable TV worked fine and we were able to get broadcast channels from nearby Erie. We did not use the park WiFi. Our Verizon service worked well. Sabo's Pizza will deliver to the park, but is not admitted past the entrance, thus requiring campers to meet the delivery vehicle there. We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby Presque Isle State Park is quite nice. There is no fee to enter and it features a multi-use paved path around the perimeter, a number of hiking trails and numerous beaches. The Tom Ridge Environmental Center is definitely worth a visit while at Presque Isle. There is no entrance charge.

Small older park. Tight spaces and narrow roads for larger rigs. Entrance and exit are very tight getting in and out. Not too much room to maneuver. Cable TV. Wifi was very slow. Good water pressure. We camped at Erie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent property! Super clean, well maintained and mowed, good gravel roads and level sites. CG is laid out in a ring around a nice size pond. Lots of folk were "fishing" with kiddie poles. Paddle boat and bike rentals are available, and Pygmy goats are in a pen for your amusement. Three huge teepees are available for rent, along with cabins of various sizes. A small dog run is located behind the far bath house. Heated pool and playground are in the center. Pretty landscaping and flower beds throughout, although not between all the sites so privacy is site dependent. Far enough from the highway so there's no traffic noise, but easy to reach from I-79. We were very pleased with Erie KOA as an overnight stop! We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

After last nite's bad KOA experience, this was an oasis. Easy checkin, nice site with patio, gas grill, table and fire ring. We did unhook before going into site just to make it easier as the turns were a little tight. Wifi is ok. Cell service ok. Electric outstanding. We couldn't get satellite because of one small tree and the cable was fuzzy but not sure it was their fault. The entrance in and out of the park from the road is tight but manageable. Pond, pool and playground for the kids. We saw other campgrounds on the way to Lake Erie but this appeared to be the nicest even tho it is about 8 miles to the Lake. We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend at this campground which provided a grill, fire ring, patio, level gravel place for your RV along with full hook ups (W-S-E 30/50) and free Wi-Fi. & cable TV. Everyone we met at this campground were very friendly. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. This campground was very clean and well kept along with each individual site. We stayed in a pull thru site over the weekend with our two dogs (pet friendly campground). We camped at Erie KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here for 1 night on the way to NE. Nice, clean place with fairly wide sites. Some may consider the roads in this park a little tight but I manouvered it with a MH of 45 feet towing a 25 ft trailer. You will be escorted to your site. Free pancakes on Sunday morning. Would stay here again. We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

Biggest issue was lack of signage for exit. We went the wrong way and scratched the MH. Site was fine although we couldn't get a DTV connection nor could our friends who were on a nearby site. Not many trees but apparently well placed. We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice park. We opted for a premiun site which had everything we needed. The campground was very well organized and had plenty to keep you busy. It also had very nice gardening work throughout.
Wifi was very good but the cable did not come in very clear. For the price we would have expected better.
Definitely would stay again. We camped at Erie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The roads in the park are gravel and show no signs of being maintained. They are well worn and dusty. The sites are typical KOA, small and tight. it does not appear that the owners are reinvesting and funds to maintain the park. The trees and other plants were taking over, more so than most state parks. Our site had our neighbors septic connection at the bottom of our steps. As an example of how tight they are I could not extend both arms between our RV and the RV adjacent to us. The park did have a host of activities for children, and other social events. Could not connect to WiFi, water pressure was weak, but the power was good. We have a 45 ft 5th wheel, and entering, parking and exiting the park was extremely challenging. We will not return here. We camped at Erie KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy off and on the interstate, gravel roads and sites with
grass. Spotlessly maintained, friendly professional staff.
Nice pool, decent camp store, cute lake area.
Clearly the best choice in the Erie area. Not every site is
a 9, but most are and thus the variety in the ratings, I suspect. We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the Erie KOA twice, once on our way to see family in NY, and again on our way home. Well kept, friendly camp. Many families with a pleasant atmosphere. Lots of activities for families to do, pool, playground, rental peddle carts, etc. there is an adequate pet run. The KOA has activities on the weekend as well as during the week. Easy on & off I90 & I 79. We had two different sites, a full hookup on the way east and a deluxe patio on the way home. The price is an average of the 2 fees. The full hook up was great, the deluxe patio was best for entertaining some local friends we had for a BBQ on the way home. The camp is relatively quiet and quiet time was observed. We plan on staying again this year on their last weekend and have family from NY meet us! We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

Access to the park from I90 is good enough given the size of our motorhome. We drive a 44ft MH towing a car and getting to the campground required a couple of tight corners including the entrance road to the park. Internal roads and sites are gravel and level and we had a site (44) that allowed us to pull-through for an overnight without taking off the car. There is a small area of grass between sites with a table and fire ring. We did not use the campground facilities except Wifi which worked well enough for our needs. Satellite worked well. There is a dog walk on the other side of the park but the park itself is lovely and there is plenty of space to walk the dog and enjoy the campground, which is clean and nicely kept. Campground staff were great, friendly and helpful. We camped at Erie KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Given the size of our MH (with tow) and our desire to turn left onto West road, staff recommended we turn right back onto the park "in" road and exit the campground using the entrance side of the campground. The maneuvering was a bit tight but worked just fine in the end.
