We stayed for one night as part of a longer road trip. The sites were close together, but shaded. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed using the heated pool at the end of a long travel day. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean KOA. Clean outdoor pool, store well stocked. Laundry located in store was good price ($2/wash & .75 dried a medium load). Exercise equipment nice. For some reason television went out and then just one channel worked the last two days of our stay. Some rain. No heavy storms. Grass extremely high at pond and throughout property. Huge yellow jacket nest at entry of women's bathroom. Staff said they have been trying to get rid of it for two weeks. Apparently calling in professional pest control is not an option? We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the Mercer / Grove City KOA for the 4th of July weekend and were very happy with our experience. The site we were in is highly recommended. Site number 96 was wonderful, as it appears to be a combination of two prior sites into one. There is a little deck with the picnic table, but it is not considered the premium KOA patio site. Site 96 backs to the woods. There is a large pile of cut down trees back in the woods. Not sure why they have decided to keep that pile there as there are several like it around the campground. They should consider cleaning those up. Truly, that's the only thing I have to say that is even near negative. The campground was clean, quiet, and well managed. Trash pick up at site, a nice dog play area with obstacles that our dog loved, easy enough campground to walk or bike. A fishing lake is across the street; we went there late in the day and didn't walk around it, but looks large enough to enjoy a leisurely/casual fishing time. Lots of activities around the main building and activity building. We didn't use the pool, but could see that it was heated. Not large, but looks very comfortable for the people that were using it.

This campground is close to the outlets in Grove City. It will actually take you longer to find a parking space at the outlets than to actually leave your campsite and drive on to the outlet property!

There is a Walmart about 15 minutes away - it is not a Super Walmart.

Some people have left reviews before saying the 'road noise' near the front of the campground could be bothersome, but honestly, this is a country road. Yes, it can get a little noisy, but it's not a freeway. You hear some motorcycles, pickups, and tractors but truthfully, it's not a bother.

Very nice campground, a testament to the KOA name, great staff, clean, quiet, worth the money, great access to I-79. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This place is what a KOA should be like. Oh, there are the resort ones, but more run of the mill KOAs should strive to be like this.

Friendly - we arrived early. They weren't busy so they allowed early access. No silly up charge.

We had our two kids. We don't use the facilities because of their disabilities. No silly up charge for sleeping in their own RV.

The charged a fair price for a patio site. We hardly ever use the stuff, we just like nicer sites. No silly excessive charge thinking they are a Hilton. Just a fair price. Nice :).

Great wifi. No silly up charge.

They pick up trash, escort you to your site and maintain the place with pride.

HEY OTHER OPERATORS: take a lesson. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

Some very tight turns which could be remedied by the removal of trees at the corner of the turns. Roadways are also very tight. Needed 2" of elevation on one side of our site to come near level. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice, well maintained park. They were just putting up hanging baskets for the summer. Their well maintained bocce court was inviting enough to play a round. Garbage pickup at your site. Lots of seasonal folks but it didn't matter as they have their own separate area. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a week while teaching an advanced RV inspector training class. It was one of the few in the area that had a meeting hall that we could use for the week. Kimber, the park manager, was very helpful and made our 5-day class a great success!

This is a very nice KOA that is located between Mercer and Grove City, PA. It is very much out in the country and is about ten miles either way to local places to get supplies. It is mostly very quiet except for the folks that stay long term and leave early in their work trucks. We were located right near the entry road so noise was more common for us that would be for others located elsewhere in the park.

Electric service was acceptable. We had an issue arise, but park maintenance took care of the issue quickly. Water pressure was acceptable as was sewer service. There was park cable which worked well and had HD channels.

Navigating the park with a big rig would not be a problem for anyone wishing to stay here. However, do not get off at exit #15 from I-80. You will be taken to the park via a very winding and narrow road that includes a one-lane bridge. Travel to Hwy 79 and approach the park from the south. You will have a much easier time and avoid lots of low hanging branches! We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

On Saturday morning during the busy season, the Amish couple that work in the park come with home baked goods to sell at the Meeting Hall. If you want a special treat they have some tasty fair!!

Again, exit at #113 off of highway 79, which runs north and south from I-80. Head west less than a quarter mile after exiting highway 79 to Butler Pike Road and head north.

The park is nice but overpriced. We stayed one night as a stopover along I-80. Pull-through sites in the front were long and easy to maneuver. But Mercer/Grove City is not a resort area and the price was exorbitant for the little time you stay there if just stopping for a night. Next time we will find somewhere else to stop. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a nice location and campground. It is older and I only had 30 amp service, but the site was long and had trees with shade. When we arrived a woman switched us to a very easy-in site instead of having to drive through the campground to get to the spot. It was 62 dollars on the weekend and 54 during the week. The staff was friendly and helpful and the grounds were well cared for and pretty. The Wi-Fi was good, as was the cable. It needs cable as I doubt you could shoot either DTV or Dish.

The back part of the campground looked like it was full of seasonal units and makes you wonder why they stay a KOA. You are not far from Amish buggy and horses that are fun to watch on the roads as you pass them. It is pretty quiet here as well. I would stay here again. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects one night stay with KOA card discount. Not a bad park with sites long and well spaced. The access roads in the park are narrow and very treed making site access and exit difficult. Some are better than others and suggest you look before accepting a site. We had site 24 which borders highway 258 which was very noisy. At night the traffic subsided but every 10-15 minutes a loud truck or motorcycle would roar by making sleep difficult. The sites were gravel but you will need to go onto the grass to access your site and it was very muddy. Showers and restrooms were very clean. Cable was great. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is nice with large level pull through sites, trees and easily accessed hookups. Lots of puddles and soggy ground but not in our or nearby sites. Our site was very quiet - this may have been due to the early season and few other campers. We would stay here again. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

Price paid reflects KOA discount. We stayed here one night and it is one of the nicest KOA's we've stayed at. The sites are very wide and long, plenty of nice trees, and a great fire pit. We didn't use the restrooms so we can't comment on them. The WiFi was strong and fast. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in. We stay here several times a year. Sites are fairly spacious and level. Some very nice patio sites with swings and table with umbrella on either concrete pad or wooden deck. Even when the campground is full, you do not feel cramped, which is nice compared to some other campgrounds, which is probably why it costs a bit more. I'm sure they could charge less if they parked everyone in tight rows. Usually activities going on over the weekends. Pool is beautiful and heated. Wagon ride through the campground on Saturday nights. Nice hiking/nature trail. Staff is friendly and restrooms/showers are clean. Wifi is free but very weak. Close to Grove City Outlets. Fishing pond across street from campground. Campground is what you expect from a KOA. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Travel Trailer.
