This is by far our favorite cmpgrn. The outstanding staff starts with the hands on owners who are committed to being a part of your stay and will be seen daily around the grounds. The landscaping is wonderful from the potted truck bed to the neatly groomed grass at your site. The sites we have stayed at have needed minimal leveling. Buttonwood is perfect for kids of all ages with the neat activities & amenities they have to offer. The tubing down the river is a neat treat as well and will last between 45min to 2 hours depending on river depth & current. Buttonwood is split between a not busy rd which we have not had to wait to cross. We stayed on the sth side which is closer to the river than the other side with most of the amenities. The sth side has ample shade while the nth side is mostly sunny. The nrth side despite not having many tree cover does have a wonderful view of the mountain ridge. The restrooms are typically wet due to the showers however often cleaned. The staff constantly passes by to pick up trash bags placed at the end of your site & clean restrooms and each one is more than willing to assist you. The sth side you will find the train across the river a real treat to hear & see through the wood line in the evening. The train whistle is not over bearing & soon overlooked. The pool is clean yet small depending on how packed the sites are. The wine slushies at the winery barn are great. Times open varies so you will want to get them early. There is a sign maker there on Saturdays and does a great job. This cmpgrnd boasts some great themed weeks and dont forget your dollar bills for bingo. The golf carts running here and there are respectful and courteous with their speed. This campground is so laid back to let you enjoy your vacation your way yet so busy with the activities if you want to participate. This is one campground I am comfortable to allow my four kids ages 9 to 15 do their thing in groups. Highly recommend this campground. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It starts with the staff. Every staff member we met was pleasant, courteous and went out of they're way to assist you. Upon arrival we were escorted to our site and told to stop by the office to check in after we were set up. Plenty of room and the entire grounds are landscaped and well kept. No problems with the hook ups. Purchased firewood is delivered to your site and trash is picked up at your site each morning. Family and pet friendly. The only thing we wish they had was an enclosed dog run. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

WIFI was very weak, or none existent, which was fine because that means I couldn't do any work. Spotless. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very busy on weekends but the staff handled it in stride and the store had everything you need and plenty of souvenirs. Tubing is available via shuttle from the campground which is great. They also run Juniata River Adventures which offers kayak and canoe rentals and shuttles right from your site and back. All utilities were great except wifi. Plenty of activities for kids. Therre are lots of sites in full sun but our section had mosly shade. We will return again. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice, well maintained, family-friendly RV park. The sites and access roads are gravel and our site was pretty unlevel from side to side (I needed several blocks to level things up for the driver's side of our fifth wheel). With that being said, our hookups were excellent, we had a fire ring and picnic table, and there was a nice swimming pool on the grounds. The WiFi was fair to very good--fair during the weekend when the RV park was near capacity and very good when most everyone left on Monday. The only recycling on site was for aluminum cans. An RV park this large should provide more on site recycling. We would definitely come back if we were in the area. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great campground. We come here often. Only concern is the aging bathrooms in the upper section. There is only one in this area. It never was great. Now compared to similar campgrounds it inadequate. Wish the would refurbish this and build a second one. Only two showers on the men's side does not cut it on a busy weekend. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great local donuts at the Mexico Mart. If you like trains the lower or River side of the campground is the place to be. A Frieght train goes through every 45 min. It sounds its horn every time.

Another good year of multiple visits at Buttonwood. Once again, staff was very helpful, friendly, and excellent in all aspects. Campground was very clean and well taken care of, especially the showers/restrooms. Only complaint again, is the poor wifi reception (big deal, right?). Other than that we're looking forward to next year. Hopefully, the prices don't increase too much because this is a great place! We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Chain Grocery store is only a short distance away. Restaurants are even closer. Camp store has a great selection of stuff you "need". Extremely dog friendly, just follow the rules!

This was our first time camping at this campground. We were with two other families, one of which had children ages 4, 10, 11. The sites were nice. I stayed in the river sites right on the river. Very level and big. You have to pay $20.00 extra for a wristband to be able to use the jumping pillow and peddle carts and use the tubes for the river. The only thing you get in your price is the site and the pool which is extremely small, size of a pool in someone's back yard. The playgrounds are nothing the kids really wanted to play on, not much to them. Mini golf is extra and so is the water wars. They barely had any activities for kids, the campground seems to be geared more towards adults. The bingo was for money, not candy. All three families that were with us actually left early because it was so boring. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Staff was very friendly! CG was neat, clean and landscaped very nicely. Sites are long and pretty spacious. Security gates are present through out all entrances/exits. The CG also rents canoes and kayaks. We happened to camp at the CG when a huge storm hit in which the Juniata River was flooding. The staff took precautions and moved trailers to higher ground. They watched the river all night and day to insure everyone's safety. As others have previously mentioned, the train does run all hours of the day and night. If you are in a site on the river side, you will definitely hear it. I do not know how loud it is up on the hill. I love trains so it did not bother me but for those who want peace and quiet, camping on the river side is not for you. This was our first time, site unseen, and we enjoyed our stay. Juniata Winery was present on Saturday for free wine tastings and sales. Very good! Everyone was very friendly including seasonal campers. We would return definitely! We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We came based upon the reviews. The campground was great, you were escorted to your site and the hookups were well placed and easy to connect. The pull through sites on the lower level were wide, long and level and the river access was easy. It was a great campground, the staff was friendly and helpful. They had wonderful activities for campers with families, it is a child friendly campground. I would say it was one of the better run, friendly and well managed campgrounds that we have stayed in over the past several year. We will be back! We really enjoyed our time here spent over Memorial Day Weekend. So much that we booked again for next year. For being a busy weekend it didn't seem to be overcrowded. Bathrooms were up to date & cleaned regularly. They probably could use more bathhouses on site though. We stayed on one of the river sites. I don't think you can go wrong with any one of them. They were gravel and all appeared to be level. There were a lot of activities for all ages all weekend long. Turns out we never got to experience many of them since the kids were kept busy along the river. There is a rail line across the river with freight trains that run at all hours. They can be loud, but we actually liked watching them pass by. Also, there is beautiful countryside to explore. Highly recommend a drive thru Shade Mt. to the Mt. Pisgah Altar overlooking Snyder County about 10miles away. Overall we loved this CG. Almost forgot - very friendly staff and always available for help. It's clear these owners take pride in their CG. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

We were seasonal campers at Buttonwood Campground for a long time, however they did a renovation to all the site along the river and year by year the rates would go up in price a little, which we didn't mind ! We got our contract to renew for 2014 season and the increase for our site jumped $350.00, Other sites that were re-done only increased $50.00-$100.00 . what do they have against seniors on a fixed income? there were a least 6 campers in our area that moved out due to this campground being money hungry. We would never camp there again!!! Be careful when you camp at Buttonwood, because they like the green, but not the seniors! We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great place overall. We were in a riverfront site and were able to see all kinds of wild life including a Bald Eagle. The bathrooms and showers were large for a campground and clean. There were a lot of trains running on the other side of the river and even though we were in a hybrid camper they never woke us up. The employees were friendly and very helpful. We were escorted to our site and told there was no rush to actually check in. We hope to be able to go back next year. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great back in or pull through sites for any size rig from a popup to a Motorhome. We like the upper side of the campground versus the river side. Lots to do if you have kids such as great playground, jumping pillow, peddle bikes, laser tag and a water wars game. Hay ride in the evening with popcorn and activities each morning for the family as well. Golf Cart rentals are available but we found that the campground is small enough that you don't need one. Nice camp store with everything you would need and than some. The customer service is top notch and that includes everyone that works at the campground. We love Buttonwood and find that where ever we camp we compare them to Buttonwood. We camped at Buttonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.
