Absolutely gorgeous views! That said the rest of "amenities" leave a lot to be desired. Impossible to believe any updates have been made to the bathhouse in the last 20 years. They were stark and only had 2 unisex showers that were cleanish but required to push a button to have water. During interactions with staff found them to abrupt. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

The view was wonderful. Lots of rules. No pool or hot tub, no clubhouse or activities. We enjoyed seeing all the Amish buggies going down the road. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

The view of the Amish farm country from our campsite was spectacular. The utilities were well placed on our pull through site. The water pressure was low and the sewer connection wasn't threaded. The cable TV worked well. The wifi was hit and miss. I was initially put off by having to stop at a gate and exit my motorhome to call the office on an intercom in order to gain entrance to the campground. It made me wonder if the campground was in the Amish hood and they needed the protection. I never did discover the reason for this level of security in this apparently safe area. I would return because of the view. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very clean campground with excellent security. You are given a gate card to access the campground, a $20 charge will be made to your credit card if you don't return the access card. The restrooms were very clean, however the toilets do not flush properly, there is a sign on each toilet stating to 'hold the handle until it flushes', well, that did not always work as the water flow is too weak to flush. This situation was in both the mens and ladies restrooms. They need to either repair the flushing mechanism or install toilets that flush properly. The site we had was plenty large for our 32' motorhome, and the view of the farmland and distant hills was fantastic, very pretty and restful. The power and cable worked very well. The other negative about this campground is there is not a pool, it was in the 90's when we were there and a pool would have been very nice to have. My biggest complaint though is the non-flushing toilets. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

The Shady Maple complex is nearby for the smorgasbord, which is excellent, and the Shady Maple grocery store which offers very fresh food at reasonable prices. Also, the Amish area has many interesting sites to see..

This KOA is more or less a transient park, ok for a night or two while visiting Lancaster. This particular KOA does not have a camp store for small odds and ends or minor needed items. There is no Swimming Pool or Game room for older kids or adults. Small playground for kids. Some, be of the Wooded sites can be challenging backing into but the Camp host will assist if needed. The Wooded sites have no access for Sat. TV, but they do have Cable. The wooded sites are nice size with space between sites, the "Open space" sites are a bit closer together. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderful views of Amish farmland. A bit of the beaten track if Lancaster is your destination. Should not advertise WiFi when you can't log on. Check in is 2 o'clock - $20 fee for early arrival. Rate was for executive sites. Not sure if I would return - too many other campgrounds in the area with WiFi and lower rates. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The pro's: beautiful location and very well maintained. The con's: campsites are very tight; location is far from most Lancaster attractions; price is a little high for no amenities, not even a store. Yes, the owners are a bit "different"! Just too many other choices in the area to pick from. We won't be returning. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Camp hosts are super nice and helpful. They moved us to a 50 amp pull through as soon as it became available. Campground is super quiet and in a beautiful location in the midst of Amish Country. You can hear the sound of horse and buggies right from your site. The view from the rig is gorgeous. Right across the small street is an Amish family selling bake goods on the weekends and close by another family selling the most delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. We kept extending our stay because we loved this peaceful place. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

This campground is very picturesque. The views are spectacular and the campground is really clean and well managed. Some previous posts are truly unfair. They paint the owners in disparaging ways. We found them to be welcoming and helpful throughout our 6 day stay. We had a 50 Amp circuit go bad the first day, and it was promptly replaced with a smile. They also offered advise on watching the skies as storms that pop up are often very windy and could tear off an awning easily. Yes there are rules. And as business owners ourselves: rules are necessary in order to have order. Moving on now. The site we had was a long pull through that made for easy auto leveling. Hook-ups were convenient for our 42' M/H and they all performed well. WiFi was fast and trouble free. I was on it constantly, maintaining business matters with our staff at home. They are adding 18 sites in the lower front tier of the park: all pull throughs! This is a basic no frills park that is a destination for couples without children and noisy pets. What it lacks in frills it makes up for in quiet, peaceful and totally relaxing camping experience. It is a little out in the country though, about 7-8 miles from the east side of Intercourse. We got used to the ride and will definitely return. Thank you. We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very quiet, attractive campground primarily located on terraced sites that offer a beautiful view of the Amish farmlands. We were far away from the office and the Wi-Fi worked OK for us. I would have rated it higher if the women in the office gave us any reason to think she was happy that we were staying here. Not a smile, barely a Thank You. Caught heck because we took our dog from our tow vehicle and put her in the trailer without a leash. Yes, I know those are the rules but she didn't have to be nasty about it. If you do not have kids or pets, and want nothing but quiet this is a great campground We camped at Lancaster / New Holland KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

I've passed this campground many times while in Lancaster county. The wife and I decided to check it out while doing some recon on other campsites in the area. We have no dogs and the kid is grown. We checked the place out and we're not surprised there isn't much to do for kids. Its basically in the middle of nowhere, it overlooks the Amish valley, it's quiet and clean: perfect! Sure, the lady in the office is intense about the rules and dogs, but I tried not to give her any reason to be the nut a lot of people claim she is. (I'm not implying anyone did.) I mind my business and responsibilities and you mind yours, period! I'm here to relax with a few cocktails by the campfire. She did come by once for no apparent reason except some story about needing to cut through our site to get to another. It took her more time and distance to cut through than if she continued her original route. I knew her story was BS (trust me she has a lot of BS), she was just being nosey. If you have kids, forget this place. If you have a dog, get his bark removed first. As for the shower or bathroom, they are clean but isn't that what your camper is for? I'll stay here again. When I camp, the disposition of the owners is the last thing on my mind. It sure beats being stuck next to some loud family, but that's another story. The views here are great and it is very conveniently located. Sites are fairly large and well spaced. But there are a lot of rules. You can bring your dog, but there is no place for them to get off the leash, even though there is plenty of room for a fenced area. They do not tolerate any barking, which was fine by me. The woman in the office was downright unpleasant. She should not be running a campground or doing anything dealing with people. I'm not sure I would stay here again. A very nice campground. Stayed previously in October of 2005, then again in August 2009. We were escorted to our site, and the owners helped us back in. The sites were very clean and with the best hookups (especially water) that I have ever used. They have some shaded sites and also sites with great views of the Amish farms. Not much for children to do, however, we loved the peace and quiet. We found the owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return to Country Haven in the near future.
