Overall Rating:

Our site was a back in in the lower open area on a hot day... but that is not all that is available as there are nicely shaded areas in the other parts of the campground. Most importantly for an overnighter...the power and water were good, the site was level, the roads were fine and the cable and internet were excellent. There is a wading pool and a regular one and playgounds and a ball field and kids were playing in the small lagoons and creeks. Altogether a pleasant place with welcoming folks and probably 60% seasonals. My one criticism is the bathroom. First...there is only one for a park this size... and it is an uphill hike from the transient section...probably a 1/4 mile round trip. The floors are poured cement with lots of wet spots. There are 3 stalls total and they have curtains not doors. They left a lot to be desired and they need a bathhouse in the open section.
That said...we'd come again and felt we got good value for our stay. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Great value for the amount of amenities you get. My site had full hook up including cable. The pool was decent, the store seemed a little under stocked, but they might not have restocked it yet. All in all we had a really great stay. I will come back again if coming through the area. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Travel Trailer.

This is our go to, stop over spot in the area. A short drive from the highway and set so there is no noise from the highway. Nice long pull thru, but had to unhook to level front to rear. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Fifth Wheel.

No restrooms/showers in the area we were set up. Staff was quite friendly and provided accurate answers to any asked questions. Pretty pricy for what a one nighter gets.Unable to use the amenities as they are in a different area and not easily accessible. Packed in pretty tight. I'd stay here again if the need arose. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

The spot I had was a pull-thru and as others have said, it's basically a field with hookups. That is perfect for me as I'm a full-timer driving a 45 foot Class A with a toad and am not looking for a "back to nature" camping experience. What I value is water, sewer, electricity, clear view for Directv satellite and wifi that works. This place hits all of my needs. Speaking of wifi, this is the best wifi I've had in at least a month.

Main reason for the review is to stress DO NOT RELY ON GPS to get here. My fully up to date Garmin was trying to send me the complete opposite way! Use the directions on the website once you take Exit 75 off the interstate. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

When heading west from our home in the Philadelphia area, this campground makes a convenient first night's stop. It is convenient to both I-70 and I-76. The lower area pull-thru sites are full service and spacious. The staff is friendly. We will continue to stay her hein t future when in the aera. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

Excellent the staff are very helpful and very friendly. Cable is great and the WiFi is excellent. This is a campground not a resort well maintained and natural at the same time. Fishing lake wooded trails ball field and wildlife aplenty. Playground for the kids and acres to walk the dog. Interesting store and friendly folk can't go wrong here. We really like this park for a overnight stop, long pull thru, full hook ups, I did have to unhook to get level front to rear but other then that it is my only complaint. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 2 nights Long level gravel pull-through. Good utilities. Friendly staff. We stayed in the 100 section, mostly people only there 1 week or less. Seasonal sites in the other sections where mostly taken care of. Interesting store, lots of stuffed animals. Would stay here again if in the area without hesitation. The upper part of the park is beautiful with trees and lakes. The surrounding hills are beautiful also. The lower part where the pull-through spaces are located is basically a field with hookups. The office staff was nice when we checked in but we never saw them again. In fact we walked to the store several times on different days and it was always closed. It may have been because it was late in the season. The park served it's purpose, for us, with good cable and great WIFI and easy hook ups. There was a nice ball field where we played Frisbee and the playground was nice too. While there we felt safe.

The pull-through spaces are roomy but a little close to each other. There was a little traffic noise and some siren kept going off. Only once in the morning however. There are some ruts in the gravel sites that made it tricky to get level. We had to try a couple of different positions and ended up using a couple of blocks.

The entrance is horrible! ** MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE FIRST LANE OF THE ENTRANCE ** Rather than a 90 degree turn, the entrance has a sign in the middle of the road leaving two curved lanes. We got stuck in the middle of the road when we took the second lane and had to unhook our towed to be able to back up and make it around the corner. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

The grounds surrounding the campground are beautiful with nice places for walking (dog). The campsites themselves on the upper area were overgrown with weeds and debris from the trees. My spot was very uneven and even with my leveler I could not get level. It was so uneven around the site that it made it difficult to find a level spot for my chair and to even walk around, being gutted and overgrown with weeds all through the site. It looks like the sites on the lower level are in better shape but they have no shade. There is a large collection of stuffed wildlife in the store and it is called a museum. Included in this collection is the stuffed hindquarters of a deer. I found this offensive and even disturbing. On the plus side, it is easy in and out--though the entrance is steep coming down--one exit is not marked (may be on the park map) and goes out from the lower level to the right when facing highway and is not steep. The utilities were easy to access. WiFi was sketchy and generally unusable and my Verizon was also sketchy--perhaps due to the campground being in a valley. It was enough, however, for me to take care of what I needed to. We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A short driving distance --about a mile, are eateries, including Eat n Park, bank and credit union and fuel. If you are visiting Pittsburgh, it is easy access to the turnpike and about thirty to forty minutes into Pittsburgh. I made several easy trips into the city while staying here. Drew's in Forest Hills near Monroeville is a great restaurant with home cooking and fabulous deserts. Also plenty to satisfy this vegetarian.

Easy access to the Interstate and the staff was helpful checking in. The time I was in, no one manned the office which was not a problem. The WiFi was weak, but overall I was happy with the site which was gravel and the roads were dirt which caused a lot of dust when I checked in because it was so dry. Overall I was very happy with my stay We camped at Fox Den Acres in a Motorhome.
