Tidy campground with a lot of seasonals, but neat, clean and friendly. No pull throughs available for the weekend, so we were assigned back in that sloped off a bit. All roads and sites are gravel. WiFi and Verizon good. Peeked in bathhouse and it was spotless. Beautiful lake, just ok pool. Would be better if regular restroom by pool instead of port-o-let. Woud return. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Friendly and helpful camp staff, moderately well stocked camp store at office. Nice wide packed gravel roads, and fairly level packed gravel sites in the transient traveler section we were in, although not much space between sites. Whole campground is nestled in a wooded mountain hollow as name implies, and views are pretty nice. Had a popular fishing pond of decent size, but a woefully small swimming pool in an out of the way spot with only a Port-A-Potty next to it. Bathroom and shower facility a bit of walk uphill, and were clean and well-maintained, as were the grounds. Don't think we had luck with their WiFi, but Verizon signal was good. While maybe not my first choice in future, would be willing to stay again if I needed to stop in area after day of driving. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If coming off PA Turnpike, first thing to know is don't exit at Donegal if you have bigger rig. Between narrow construction lanes (at time we were there), and a hilly, winding, narrow road posted at 10 tons max weight (which CG staff person was surprisingly unaware of when she assured me there were no weight or height restrictions coming from Donegal), do yourself favor and exit at Somerset. Once you get to CG though, as their entry sign says, you can relax.

Bikers should not miss the Greater Allegheny Passage (GAP) rail trail, easily accessed in Rockwood. Can also get diesel fuel at tiny little station/market in Rockwood, but not while towing anything.

This is a very nice park situated in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. The park was very easy to maneuver our 37 foot MH with a tow dolly. Sites were hard pack and the transients are pretty much separate from the seasonals. Our site had a bit too much slope for the picnic table and our door opened up right into a electrical power meter tower. Not attractive or convenient, but have had worse. The park provides basic cable and Internet which was surprisingly good. On a 1 to 10 scale it was an easy 8 with strong signal. Also over the air TV is available but can get funny with all the hills and weather. The park is clean and well maintained and not crowded at all. Small fishing pond on site and I saw several people using it. Don't know if they caught anything. The management was very nice and efficient. We arrived slightly after hours and they had our paperwork in a box outside waiting for us. Would definitely go back as i really enjoy this part of Pennsylvania. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice facility, our second time staying here as we cross western PA. Kinda far off I76, but a nice stopover nonetheless. Friendly staff. They have a whole section for annuals, and a section for overnighters/weekenders. The latter is all pull-thrus. Used the cable as we caught nothing over the air, but there are no trees in this section to block a satellite setup. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Usually Mapquest is more accurate than our GPS. Not this time, however. It led us across some narrow, 9% grade roads. The GPS would have gotten us there much faster and safer by exiting at Somerset . We went to the Flight 93 Memorial, and were so awed by it that we went back a second day. We had a GREAT lunch at Dough Girls Pizza in Rockwood.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The view was beautiful and my husband enjoyed the fishing. My fur babies where very happy in the dog park. It was great to be able to have a place to take them off the leash and run. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Have stayed here before. Very well maintained campground. Cable, internet and all hook ups worked well. Easy acess to site, which was a pull through. We used to like to stay in the back area, however they've changed most of those to seasonal otherwise I'd probably give it a ten! Nicest campground close to Johnstown. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

We camped here for 3 days. Lots of seasonal campers, all were very well kept up, no run-down, trashy campers here. The restrooms were immaculate, probably the best we've seen since we've been RVing. Electric, water, and sewer hookups all were convenient to our site (#74) and worked perfectly. The cable channels worked well, but the local channels were snowy. Would definitely recommend this RV park. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

WE used this park as a home base for several days to explore the area, lots of neat little towns and not to far from the 911 Crash Memorial at Shanksville.

This was our second time at Hickory Hollow. Gravel roads but very well maintained. Mostly pull thru sites. There are 3 back in sites up next to the cabins. Leveling was a breeze. Hook ups were all newer and easily accessible. Two back in sites next to us actually had two sewer hook ups. Cable TV was a little snowy and not many channels but that is not the CG's fault. (Tried to catch some of the Olympics).

Sites have large concrete fire rings, not those tiny metal rims. Nice playground for the kids, a small residential style in ground pool. Seasonals are in their own area, only saw 1 golf cart in 4 days. CG is basically in the middle of a field so there is very little shade. At night it made great viewing of the Perseid meteor shower while there. (Kids loved seeing shooting stars every few minutes). We also saw a Bald Eagle flying over head daily. There is a stocked pond catch and release that the kids loved.

My family has moved our yearly family reunion to this CG we like it that much.

You will be hard pressed to find a nicer and cleaner bath house.

They do offer hay rides and have events on Weekends. It was a wing fling when we were there. Staff was very nice and even stopped to check in with us to see if everything was alright. We used the pavilion for our gathering which was great to have available. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly staff, clean grounds. Quiet and a convenient place to stay when visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial. Very little to do for our teenage children. The pool looked nice but, unfortunately, was closed the night we wanted to use it due to a "fecal" incident the night before. The park is good, but small for kids over 8. I can't say enough good things about this park even if we were here in off season. Access from the PA Turnpike was easy. Check in was smooth and efficient. Campsite accessibility was easy. Sewage hookup is away from the power and water hookups. Long, fairly level pull throughs. All sites face easterly with all being in full sun. Packed gravel interior streets with all sites being packed gravel/grass. Patio area is all grass with picnic tables. Cement fire rings on all sites. Campground really clean.
Small pool that was not open. New office being built. Small catch and release pond. Open air pavilion for gatherings and a few cabins on property. Our rate reflects a Passport America discount.
Seasonal sites are in another separate area from the transient area.
We will be back to this campground. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground in a Motorhome.

Flight 93 Memorial within easy driving distance as is Walmart and Giant Eagle.
Also a nice outing is visiting Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, two houses that Frank Lloyd Wright built.
There are other attractions within a day's drive and these are listed on their website.
