Overall Rating:

The campground entrance was well marked, although not lit at night, which would make it hard to spot with an after dark arrival. The internal roads were dirt/gravel, which became somewhat muddy when wet and with several pot holes to avoid. Most sites were level, but our initial pull-thru (one of 6 available) were uphill and not level. The autolevers could not obtain level, and in manual it could have been achieved if I was willing to bring the back wheels off the ground, an absolute no-no for a motorhome. The roads were easily maneuverable with a 36' DP motorhome, and there were shade trees on each site. I had to move to a back-in site which was basically level, and an average width, and long enough to park the toad in front of the RV (if you park it perpendicular to the RV). Since they weren't very busy, they let me pull in sideways and take up two sites, making it a virtual pull-thru. The entire site was grass (sparse in several spots) and in decent condition, which our 3 Golden Retrievers enjoyed. There was no cable TV, and no OTA stations. The water was easy to connect to, and the water pressure was a little on the low side but was sufficient. The sewer connection was a little above ground level, requiring the use of a sewer hose support. The WiFi was easy to connect to, and the internet bandwidth was maybe a 7 out of 10, but it dropped out quite often, requiring a reconnect. Verizon cell signal was 1 out of 5 bars and spotty at best. We don't use restrooms or showers, so we can't render an opinion on those items. There was a dog park for our 4 footed friends, but the entrance was muddy since it had been raining. We did not notice any road noise. The price was reasonable for the services received. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you come here with a family, there are kids games, a climbing house, and a pool as well. We would stay here again. We camped at Red Oak Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground, with lots of trees. The bakery is wonderful for breakfast. No cooking! But only 20amp service at our site, and no water pressure at all. Also it has been some time since the lawn had been mowed. In some places, it was above my ankle. Our site was very large; but we had camped here years ago at another site, and those were so close that a neighboring fire burnt holes in our awning and chairs under it. So ask for the larger sites if you plan to come here. We camped at Red Oak Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is situated within the Allegheny National Forest -- it is absolutely beautiful here. There are quite a few seasonal sites, but they are well maintained and did not detract from the campground. The staff and owners are outstanding. Close proximity to the Kinzua Reservoir -- we brought our boat with a 2nd tow vehicle and our site accommodated everything! We made our reservations already for next year! We camped at Red Oak Campground in a Travel Trailer.
