Park was extremely clean and neat. The owners could not have been more accommodating. We arrived after hours, calling them from I-80 to see if they had room for an overnight. We were advised to to pull up in front of the office and wait. (We drove by their house as we approached the office). They led us to our site and made certain we were satisfied and could get settled on our own. While the rest rooms/showers were "rustic," they were well-built and clean. The grounds were very well kept. The spaces were level--which took some effort during construction because the park is located on the side of a hill. There is an upper and lower level. Upper seemed to have more shade trees among the camps, while the lower level, although surrounded by trees, was pretty much open in the center, where we parked. Getting there was an easy drive from I-80. I did, however, drive (slightly) past the entrance because the park sign was only painted on the opposite side. A minor oversight, quickly forgotten by the warm welcome. We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Truck Camper.

Ask for a level site. They said all sites were level! Ours certainly was not. We were tired and just slept falling to the right. Laundry is on a covered porch. Restrooms and showers are clean but, rustic/archaic. WIFI is NOT free! Each connection was about $4 per night. Did not do it! And do not like being misled. No cable or air TV. Yes, in the woods and very hilly, if you desire that type of camp. We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground is bordered on two sides by state game lands, which means plenty of trails and undisturbed forest just waiting to be explored. When it gets hot, I bring my two dogs down to play in the large creek just down the trail from our camper. Since it is so close to the woods, it's very peaceful and there is often wildlife frolicking around the park; it's not uncommon to wake up and see groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits and birds going about their business right outside our window!

As if the wooded paradise wasn't enough, the campground is also very conveniently located. Wal-Mart, Aldi's, a local butcher, Amish merchants, farmers markets, several restaurants and fast food chains are all just 5-15 minutes away in both directions. Cook's Forest is just 18 miles up the road and if you feel like visiting the city, Pittsburgh is only an hour's drive away!

The family that owns it are very hard working and aim to see their campers happy. We arrived in the middle of the night after a rough trip across the country, and the lady still met us at the brightly lit office and was happy to walk us through the camp's rules and help us get settled in. Throughout the day, the owners can be seen and heard buzzing around the camp making sure everything is going smoothly, while stopping for a chat with anyone who wants to.

They offer really competitive rates compared to the nearby parks (I paid $35/night for 30amp service, but they also have 50 amp service available for $40), and military personnel get a 10% discount!

The only time I recall a power problem was during a thunderstorm, and the owner gave us regular updates from the power company so we knew the status of the repair in close to real time. The sewer lines are very easy to hook into with standard bayonette connectors.

All in all, I highly recommend this place be it for just a night or a whole month! We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Saturday morning of every holiday weekend, they have a free pancake breakfast for everyone. The ones I've been to have been really good: better than I make at home and less dishes too!

New owners are trying to improve this park. Lots of older seasonal rigs here. Narrow roads. FHU, 30amp, gravel mostly shaded. Playground (small). Very friendly people invited us to the ice cream social & barn fire. Escorted to site. We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Just a short drive from I 80 tucked back away from the road. My family had styed here many years ago and wanted to come back and see what updates the new owners had made as we heard it was under new ownership recently. My family enjoyed a quite weekend at this park. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who kindly showed us to our site. The staff showed us to a large 50 amp site tucked nicely in the pines. We were invited to join a free pancake breakfast and there were plenty of activities for the little ones including making a craft and a exploring nature. My family will definitely be visiting this park again. Can't wait to seen what new updates are here for our next visit. We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We chose this park because it was listed as a Passport America park which allowed the weekend discount rate during the month of October. It is also an Escapees park which offers a 50% discount. The owner would not honor EITHER of them! It was very frustrating that I had it in writing from both PA & Escapees but she claimed they were 'wrong'. Getting into the park is a narrow turn and then down a VERY steep hill to get to the lower level where they put the weekenders and transients. The sites were so close together you could hear your neighbor sneeze inside of their trailer. No WiFi or antennae tv. We would probably not stay here again. We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an old park 3.5 miles north of I-80, which guarantees no highway noise. The name pretty much says it all. It is definitely rustic. Maybe primitive is a better word. Resort; not close. We were welcomed with a friendly smile and were directed downhill on a narrow, winding, tree-lined drive to a "pull-in" which meant we drove across the grass to one of the terraced sites and pulled in, toad and all. Glad the ground was dry. The row of six pull-through sites is in a grove of beautiful old pines and firs with some long-term sites around the perimeter. They are all well kept. There was only 30 amp service. but voltage was 110, with no circuit breaker. We were careful how many amps we drew. Definitely not big rig friendly. However, we needed minimal leveling, and we were pretty much shade covered. Forget satellite. Verizon signal was strong, as was Verizon MiFi. If you don't mind maneuvering a bit, and can deal with 30 amps, this is certainly OK for an overnight stay. We camped at Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.
