Maybe once upon a time, Valley View was a farm, but now it is fields of mown and mostly unmown grass. Maybe once it was a campground, but now it is a trailer park. We had a reservation but although the office was open, there was no one around and no information on a spot for us. A sign said to pick a spot. So we entered the campground. We were greeted by a barking, lunging pit bull on a tie down chain.

Fortunately a resident came out to warn us to find a ground-stone pad site because the grass spots were so saturated by rain that we'd sink. It took us an hour to get level. It was backin, so we had to disconnect our tow vehicle and park next to the bus. Once set, I took out our dogs for a walk. But now the pit bull had gotten loose and was running around the park. The residents across from us were outside and screaming at each other. We left early the next morning and definitely won't be back! We camped at Valleyview Farm & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A bit out of the way park with mostly seasonals but they do have a few back-in sites with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains and farms.

Owner lives on site and makes sure to stop by and see if everything is OK. Seasonals are very friendly and it has a small town appearance. We camped at Valleyview Farm & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a great getaway for smaller rigs and park models. It rates lower as a big rig stopping spot. There are only a couple of sites that are level, big enough for a 40-foot RV, and have full hookups. The campground is situated on a lovely spot in the Poconos off the beaten path. Grocery stores and other amenities are about 10 miles away. There is no WiFi.

On the plus side the sky is wide open for satellite reception and there is good cell phone access. The owners are very friendly and the permanent campers seem like a pleasant group of people. We had a nice quiet few days with the campground to ourselves. The Memorial Day weekend brought the regulars out and it was different but still a nice place with a nice view. We camped at Valleyview Farm & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cable's Store and the D&W Trail in Union Dale were fun.

Most amenities can be found in Carbondale.

Nice quiet park in the mountains of North East Pa. Easy to get to, 6 miles from major highway with good interior roads. Owners live on premise and are eager to please. Power is excellent and water is also. Has very large sites, with a spectacular view of the distant mountains. We will be going back. We camped at Valleyview Farm & Campground in a Motorhome.
