Overall Rating:

W/E site overlooking Gulf. Most of the park sites are no services, but the ones on the bluff (we had site C) had W/E and a great view. 1 free Wifi per site and it was excellent. Shower house needed work, but it was adequate. Roads in PEI are in rough shape and the toll to cross the confederation bridge (pay as you leave) was $47.00 CN. It is an impressive bridge, but that seems pretty pricey. Mosquitoes were swarming at dusk. The drive in to Charlottetown is relatively easy but takes about an hour. You van park your RV downtown at Confederation Landing Lot for about $4.00 CN per hour. Charlottetown was worth the day trip. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Rate is in Canadian dollars. The beautiful beach is the big draw here. We had site 9 at the end of a row. Lots of room, two-way. Close to washroom, laundry, phone (actually works). Dump station easy to access. Staff are very friendly and helpful. WIFI was excellent. A breeze here helped with the hot temperatures- heat warning in effect- very unusual. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearest place for provisions is Kensington, just a few minutes down the road. Take it slowly on interior roads they are not the best. Serviced sites are pretty close but large and tenting sites are enormous. Great views of the ocean, just a 5 min. walk from the site.

Overall Rating:

We were in site B which has a phenomenal view of the gulf. All sites are grass and ours had numerous low spots. We were able to level without too much trouble. The sites are not well defined. Sites A B C and D have gulf views. Utilities are on shared posts. This creates a challenge when parking to insure the hookups are on the correct side. Some used these sites as pull thrus but the entry path to do so is not graveled or marked. There are tent sites scattered behind these sites making it a challenge. Power was good. WiFi was excellent and free for one device. Additional devices are $2 per day. Bathhouse was clean and showers were free. The shower I used had no changing area and had one real hook. The other "hooks" were screws. The grass was shin high. The field was cut on day two of our stay. Our site was never trimmed. We found it to be a great base for touring the central region of the island. We were here during the days leading up to the Cavendish Music Featival. The park was filling by the weekend. Dump station is not a paved area and very unlevel. To avoid blocking the road it requires pulling into the grass. Beautiful beach area with clean sand. Easy drive from Confederation Bridge. Be prepared for the WIND!! We pulled in our slides for fear of damage to the slide covers. We would return again. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is Canadian $. This is a beautiful, quiet, well-located base for exploring PEI. There is a pull-thru, full hookup area which looked nice, but we chose a spacious water/electric site overlooking the ocean with fantastic sunsets. The site was well-groomed grass, but required raising the front-end of our 40-ft motorhome with 6-inch blocks, which wasn't a problem for us. The A-F sites are much more level with better views. The 30-amp electric was strong. Cell/data reception was excellent. Dump station was easily accessible. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed a mini-performance at The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts in Summerdale. The nearby Ship-to-Shore Restaurant has outstanding seafood prepared in innovative ways for reasonable prices. Basin View Seafood has great, reasonable-priced cooked lobster.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice provincial park with grassy sites and your choice of full, water/electric, or no service. We didn't use the facilities so can't tell you about them. The park was practically empty during our second week of September stay. While there are not a lot of amenities in this area, it was a good base to explore the northern shore of the island. If you want restaurants and stores, this one isn't for you without having to drive at least seven miles back into Kensington. There is no internet in the park; the closest is the parking lot of the Information Center at the old railroad depot in Kensington. There are nice walking trails in the park, play areas for kids, and the beach is easily within walking distance of the park. Cost reflects US$ at senior rate (no tax); $37.50/CAN with taxes. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Try to find a Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) if you want to hear some traditional Celtic or fiddle music. Just about any night of the week, during the season you can find music at one of the many community centers on the island. We truly enjoyed our nights at the Emerald Community Center and Stanley Bridge Hall.

We stayed at a serviced site in the main area but there is also serviced and unserviced sites overlooking the cove. The beach was the highlight here a five minute or so walk. There are kids programs here every day and ice cream for sale. The washrooms near us had been upgraded since our last visit and since we were using a phone card we found one of the few working payphones left at this location. As at all the PEI Provincial Parks the staff here are friendly and helpful. There is no Wi-fi. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

This is a wide open grassed camp but the serviced sites are tightly clustered together and these sites are small. It is quite a long walk to washrooms and laundry which are old but generally clean. There are walking trails and beaches nearby. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

We really enjoyed this park. We stayed here for 14 nights to get the 10% discount and were very glad we did. The lovely red sand beach was a very short walk away and we spent hours walking and exploring. The sites were large with lush grass. We were backed into an end site with evergreens on both sides and the back giving us a good bit of privacy. This location was perfect for exploring that end of PEI and we were within walking distance of Malpeque Bay and some of the finest oysters and mussels we had on PEI. We had one incident when a work camper did some damage to our RV with the lawn mower, but it was dealt with quickly and fairly by the manager. We highly recommend this Provincial Park. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Costs with senior discount about $24 for 2 way. Sites 105 unserviced some overlooking the sea. 32 sites 2 way and 33 sites 3 way on grass. This is the most popular and one of the largest parks in western PEI. In the summer they have activities for children and naturalists who give guided walks and talks. The campground has a laundromat, playground and supervised swimming (summer only) on a beautiful beach which is just a quick walk from the campground. There is an old one room school house that is used for children activities and an old lighthouse on the path just before you head to the beach. The red color of the beach and cliffs are stunning. Since we were here after Labor Day there were only about ten tents and campers camping. This park closes about two weeks after Labor Day so always check the opening and closing dates for PEI parks if you plan to camp on the island in the spring or early Fall. The bathrooms could use an updating as we have found in most of these parks but the workers at the parks keep them as clean as possible. We drove from here to the National Park on the north shore near Cavendish! We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

The only reason we would not rate Cabot Park a 10 is because we are reluctant to share one of our favorite places. For any camper wishing to experience PEI, there is no better destination. The park is wonderful. Pet friendly, kid friendly, large-rig friendly, retiree friendly you cannot go wrong at this provincial park. Whether you seek a small motorhome-village mix of regulars and travelers or a remote tent site on a bluff overlooking beautiful Malpeque Bay, you will find the right site at Cabot Park. Most points of interest on PEI are within a 45 minute drive of the park. Did I mention the beach? Or the old school house converted to ice cream scoop shop? Or the arts and crafts building for the kids? Or the concerts at the gazebo? Or the fresh sea food available at the dock next door? Ssshh... I don't want to let the secret out of the bag. We camped at Cabot Beach Provincial Park in a Motorhome.
