Pull through sites 15-19 and 22-26 at the Northumberland Provincial Park had 50-amp electricity and lovely views when parked towards the eponymous strait. The last 3 in each row may get better satellite reception (or we may have been too far east to get HD channels with a U.S. dish). A few mosquitoes appeared in the early evening. Price is in $US. The favorable conversion rate made the Park a real bargain. Vehicle washing was allowed. The We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is near the ferry to Nova Scotia. A great little fish shack, Wood Island Seafood, is a left turn just before the ferry ticket office. The Confederation Rail Trail is nearby for bicyclers. An easy ride from the Murray River parking spot to Murray Harbor brought us to the Harbourview Restaurant for lunch.

Site 25. 50A, water and sewer. Fabulous view across Northumberland Straits to Nova Scotia. Lovely park, good showers, ok laundry. No wifi, ok ATT/Rogers, no OTA. Very oddly numbered and arranged sites facing water. Study the campground map carefully before making reservation; for example sites 24 and 25 are not adjoining! Sites 15-19 are oriented to face the water in a motor home; sites 22-26 are interlaced with 15-19 but face trees! Would be ok for trailers with rear windows, but motorhomes end up dragging utilities underneath. Great dog walking on the beach. Very bad mosquitoes made walking in the woods impossible, day or night. I would not stay in a site in the woods, period. Good place to stay to explore east end of PEI. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Captain's Cove in Montague has very good food, a supermarket and lots of other services. Souris, East Point and North Lake all worth seeing. Sorry we missed the Fisheries Museum at Basin Head. Orwell Village Historic Site is a Must See - One of the best cultural history places we have seen. Charlottetown is the "big city" on the island. Peakes Wharf area is fun to visit; food on the upper deck is good. Make NS ferry reservations well in advance. Space for big rigs is limited.

The park is a few minutes drive to the Ferry from Prince Edward Island to Nova Scotia. It is on the ocean and has shady and sunny sites. Very pleasant and reasonably priced. The sites are very large with lots of room for the biggest mh or trailer. We will return again, and regularly. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Provincial park with large sites nicely spaced apart and separated by bushes/trees.

We stayed here mainly to be close to ferry to Nova Scotia.

Our third provincial park on PEI. Interestingly this one did not have wifi where other PPs do. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground, our site was a little oddly shaped, but it worked. It was a short walk to an amazing view of the Northumberland Straight and a beautiful beach. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

PEI 46 sites – unserviced, 2 way and 3 way $27.00 but they do offer senior discount This campground seem to have more 3 way sites than 2 way and many of the sites are in the woods but there are about 8 sites facing the sea. There are some beautiful tent sites that are on the cliff with great views. One can see the Wood Islands Ferry, Terminal, Lighthouse and Museum from these sites. The playground is in an open field looking on the sea. Typical PEI park – playground, kitchen shelter, laundromat, wood, trails. This park is used by many who are either going on the ferry to Nova Scotia the next day or they just arrived from the ferry. The park has red cliffs and if one is lucky you can spot cliff swallows burrowing nests along the shore. In the summer they have children programs and supervised swimming. The Rossignol Estate Winery is near by for tours and wine tasting. Nice park rest rooms were clean but need to be updated! We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

We don't give out 10s lightly but this one deserves it for the view alone! Ask for the full (3-way) sites which overlook the ocean. The sites are close together but I don't think they are very busy so you should not feel squished. You are a 2 minute walk from a beautiful red beach which has a life guard. The ferry is a very close drive and is a fun way to get to the island. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Would have rated the park a 9 if the interior roads were not in such bad condition. We arrived after several days of rain and the red mud was terrible, especially when trying to level on their grassy spots. Our site overlooked the water--the view was amazing. We watched the seals. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend the place. Very close to the Nova Scotia ferry. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

This park is just 2 miles down the road from the Wood Islands ferry terminal, Park staff were pleasant and helpful when we arrived in the evening, with a bum tire. The campground faces the Northumberland Strait, and there are long pull-through sites facing the water. Other sites are quite large, some have a water view as well, and all have some trees. A stairway leads down to the red sand beach, which lends itself to walking and wildlife viewing. We saw seals and many shore birds, as well as a few brave souls enjoying the surf. This is a very pretty campground, and provided us with a pleasant and serene camping experience. We were traveling during the shoulder season, and had no trouble getting a site, even at 7:30 PM, but I think reservations would be wise during the peak summer season, especially on the weekends. We camped at Northumberland Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.
