8 RV Parks near Cantley, Quebec
Aug 2017 - $45.00
Extremely rude staff, accused us over going over 10 kph before we even entered the park! Threatened us with immediate expulsion. Rules, rules, watch out for the rules in this camp! Electrical Service was so low had difficulty pulling in cable! Campsites are on top of each other, side by side. Zero privacy. however lot of "shared" camp fire smoke! Power hookup was 5 inches from ground. Wifi was offered @ $3/hr! Or 5 a day! Poor connection speed. Also poor cell phone reception. Directions on web site are vague and none specific and need to be modernized. Park seems to be more gear to seasonal campers. Theirs are choice lots and somewhat larger and overall better. Would I go back? Not on your life! - Semaj
Jun 2016 - $65.00
Large park. Tiny lots that are "pull through"... only if you have a 15 foot trailer. Most rude staff in my camping experience. Too many rules. Not kid friendly. Not English friendly. 2 pools were nice. You will be "expelled" for any violations if you are deemed "undesirable". Poor cell service and wifi is pay and very slow. - NB Family
Jun 2016 - $38.00
Based on our hightop van pulling our TT we were assigned a corner site. Took some time to figure out how to park the rig, but it worked. We had view of pond/lake and were right across from the washroom/showers. Site was grass and gravel.
Park is VERY STRICT about 10 kmh speed limit. Drive slow or get tossed out. - DCM/JMB
Jul 2017 - $32.00
This campground is in an excellent central location in Ottawa easily accessed off Prince of Wales Road just north of the junction with Hunt Club Road. Most of the amenities are satisfactory, including wifi (spotty at times) and laundry ($1.75 wash, 0.25/7min dry). The sites are level and gravelled (except for the tent sites) although perhaps a little short for some big rigs though there are several +40ft here. There is some noise from trains, aircraft and trucks but it all calms down at night. The host, is almost always available and quite polite. He seems to be a little hard of hearing but operates well in English and French. Fees are paid in cash only. The monthly rate, $805, is very reasonable, but needs some planning (for most of us) to pay in cash. We would definitely stay here again. - rvbravo2
May 2017 - $25.00
Very grumpy manager. Our kids called him grumpy. Everything is old and needs updating. Only advantage is closeness to City. - Vic Larocque
Aug 2015 - $30.00
Great park to visit if you are just needing a place to stay for a few nights and are spending time in Ottawa. The laundromat backing the park was a bit loud and ran 24/7. Friendly service and a nice outdoor pool. - DevAshCam

When we arrived our campsite A2 was muddy and there were orange cones between ours and the adjacent site. I was quite disappointed as all of the other sites in this loop did not have a wetness issue. Even though it was early evening we returned to the office but the young man said he couldn't change it only 'the girls' could do it in the morning. We left early in the morning to head into Ottowa bit when we got back midday two young maintenance crew were adding a layer of dirt to the orange coned area. I asked him if it was possible to add some sawdust or mulch to our site. He informed me they had weeks of rain and drainage was an issue throughout the park. Within a half hour the head of maintenance knocked on our door to explain what was happening and would a layer of gravel be adequate? We left to go back into the city and when we got home that night we pleasantly surprised to see all of the muddy area covered with gravel. This type of response deserves a shout out here. Due to the rain most of this area of Ontario is swarming with mosquitoes! - Dc22
Jun 2017 - $38.00
Small sites close together. Camped in loop 1C. Some noise from the 417 highway, but nothing to keep us awake. Park was clean, as were the washrooms. Friendly staff at gate. WIFI was available but we did not try to use it. We were late leaving ( 6:30 pm) and paid an extra fee to leave the trailer on site while in Ottawa. Campground was very quiet and not fully booked during our visit. Great place to stay if touring Ottawa. Easy access to the city from a country like setting. We will definitely use this park again. - Whitby Guy
May 2017 - $50.00
We stayed here the first day it opened 2017 for a week while we explored Ottawa area. Location is excellent, as there is quick access to everything. Even took in a concert and Senators game at Canadian Tire Center which is minutes away. Although handy it is still a park, with big trees and good spacing. Facilities are old, but ok. Wifi only worked at office and sites have no sewer. Large Big Rigs may be a challenge to park. We have a 30 ft Class A which was ok. Will definitely stay here again.
Because of great location suggest reserving well ahead. July 1 of 2017 is already booked up! - Kbittle
Jul 2005 - $25.00
This small, quiet riverside campground is located 30 miles from Ottawa. The washroom, shower were clean and the owner was friendly. - Walt
Jul 2017 - $35.00
On the plus side, the water pressure is good, and it's one of the few parks in the area with 50 amp service and sewer. The roads are in pretty good shape and very navigable. On the minus side, the wifi is horrible and the router needed to be recycled often but the park managers didn't keep up with it, so there was a lot of dead time. Also, we were able to connect smart phones to the wifi (when it was up), but not the laptops or tablets. - Gator67
Jul 2017 - $43.00
We stayed at this park for 5 days while visiting the Ottawa Capital Region in a fifth wheel. This is a nice park with gravel roads and gravel sites which can get muddy during rain periods. Our site was a full hook minus cable. The park is dated and will require some TLC but is a good choice for visiting the Ottawa Region as it is a very short drive to the down town area and all amenities. The owner was friendly upon our return and accommodating in assisting us in setting up on our extremely long pull through site and recommending great "Must See" events. - Irish2
Jul 2017 - $32.00
We stayed in the back section of the park and were the first customer to use the brand new site. 50 amp full hook up. No issues with any of the services. It rained the entire time we were here and there was a lot of standing water. WiFi did not work at the site but our cell phones, MiFi and DirecTv did. The staff was accommodating and the park is convenient to the Ottawa area and its attractions. We would stay again and would recommend this campground. - Amls
Sep 2010 - $45.00
First time there. Easy to book on line and pick your site, you can prepay. Park Store, two hiking trails, paved main access roads. Power hook up on most sites. No water hook ups but free fill station and dump station on the park. Variety of taps around the park to fill buckets and things. Frustration reaching power supply and fitting our 17-foot trailer into some spaces. Late check out. Long wait for dump station, took us an hour to get our turn; last day of long weekend, most likely why. No site the same so revisit in the future. Village has beer/wine/pizza at the corner store. And they do deliver to your trailer! - The Allens
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Enjoyed meeting the manager and his daughter. Very helpful about local attractions and services.
Site 116 required 50 ft of hose for water no big deal.
Level parking area and quiet.
Would recommend to a friend . - Duke55
Jul 2016 - $31.00
Recreationland is close enough to Ottawa to make it an easy 30 minute drive into town to see the sites. It's very near the Ottawa River so sometimes it can get humid. It's right next to a road and during the day it can get a bit noisy, but at night it quiets down. While the campground is pretty, most everything is dated. The site (#139) was a pull-through, fairly new gravel, with lots of room between sites. There is a small picnic table and a small firepit. There is WiFi, and it's not too bad, but you have to pay for it ($15/week per device). The laundry has 5 new washer/dryers, about $2 per load. The bathroom is secure and fairly clean, but charges for a shower and is old. The swimming pool is small, but most people still enjoy it. The water pressure fluctuates considerably, from fairly okay to just a trickle, then back again; they are on a well system, apparently. The electrical power is marginal but I didn't have any problems from that. Everyone was friendly, but the owner is very strict about many things, including no carpets on the grass, charges for most amenities, and you can't move the firepits. Overall, a good value and a fairly quiet campground and would probably stay here again. - RobtL
Jul 2016 - $33.00
Recreationland Campground, also called Recreationland Tent & Trailer Park (www.rec-land.com) has a small town family run business feel. Its gravel roadway and RV pads are pothole free and there is ample space between sites. The laundry facilities are reasonable priced and clean though the public washrooms and showers could stand a little more attention.
The park is laid out with the long term tenants separate from the overnight and short term guests. They have 30 pull thru sites and with 50 full hookups though only 3 have 50 amp power. It is a little tight parking a large 43 ft Class A like ours but quite doable and once parked there is ample parking space for the tow car.
Recreationland Campground is located off Hwy-117 near Cumberland, ON, a short 30 minute drive from Parliament Hill in Ottawa. A park 'n ride station for public transit into town is only 10 minutes away. At only $32.50/night (CDN) for a 50 amp, full service pull-thru, this the best deal in the Ottawa area. - Ron_H
Aug 2015 - $55.00
Website very misleading: no pool table, no ping pong table, mini putt so full of debris unuseable, tennis court full of cracks and weeds again unusable, volley ball net hanging off of poles, pavilion is not open for use ( looks like it has been closed for a while). Front staff very rude, and accusing ( as we had only been there for a few hours and it was raining we thought we'd use the pavilion to play pool or use the tables for some cards ( we had 5 teenagers with us and needed to get out of the rv) when we approached the gentleman at the front about wanting to use the pool table he accused my children of stealing the pool balls and that was why the pool table has been closed). My husband was sworn at by the man at the front for questioning the lack of facilities available. Over all a very bad experience we will not return. - DevAshCam
Jul 2014 - $50.00
Front desk needs to take a course in hospitality and how to run a business so people would consider returning. Only care about $ coming in. Charged our friend a basic site fee of $25 per night for 4 nights and assigned a site which remained empty the entire stay of the friend who was staying in a tent on our site. Have a policy of charging $5 per person for visitors regardless of how long they stay, therefore a family of 5 would pay the same for an hour visit as it would cost for a basic site fee for the night. Needs much work to grounds. Indoor pool only, forget about getting refreshed as it might as well be considered a wet sauna. Inoperable water slide that we were told has not worked for 7 years although another reviewer said they were told it hasn't worked since the year 2000 (just take it down, what an eye sore, but oh that would cost $ wouldn't it). Tennis courts cracked with weeds calf high growing from them. Playground needs to be checked for safety daily so no other children get stung from harboring nests. Rude responses given when requests are made. Owners place blame on you for something you didn't do then realize you didn't do it and do not apologize. Do not respect privacy of visitors and give out names of past campers freely to incoming visitors. You couldn't pay me to stay here again, or the 10 other families that we had join us during our stay. - dempers
May 2013 - $42.00
The family who runs this park is very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool looked clean and well taken care of. It seems to serve as the community pool for lessons and aqua fitness classes. I am guessing that this was a more lively park in its day as there is a now an out-of-service waterslide at the front of the park. This is a park with a lot of potential that could use some renovation/upgrades. As an upshot, it is well situated near Ottawa. - JJ Spectre
