Extremely rude staff, accused us over going over 10 kph before we even entered the park! Threatened us with immediate expulsion. Rules, rules, watch out for the rules in this camp! Electrical Service was so low had difficulty pulling in cable! Campsites are on top of each other, side by side. Zero privacy. however lot of "shared" camp fire smoke! Power hookup was 5 inches from ground. Wifi was offered @ $3/hr! Or 5 a day! Poor connection speed. Also poor cell phone reception. Directions on web site are vague and none specific and need to be modernized. Park seems to be more gear to seasonal campers. Theirs are choice lots and somewhat larger and overall better. Would I go back? Not on your life! - Semaj
Jun 2016 - $65.00
Large park. Tiny lots that are "pull through"... only if you have a 15 foot trailer. Most rude staff in my camping experience. Too many rules. Not kid friendly. Not English friendly. 2 pools were nice. You will be "expelled" for any violations if you are deemed "undesirable". Poor cell service and wifi is pay and very slow. - NB Family
Jun 2016 - $38.00
Based on our hightop van pulling our TT we were assigned a corner site. Took some time to figure out how to park the rig, but it worked. We had view of pond/lake and were right across from the washroom/showers. Site was grass and gravel.
Park is VERY STRICT about 10 kmh speed limit. Drive slow or get tossed out. - DCM/JMB

This campground is in an excellent central location in Ottawa easily accessed off Prince of Wales Road just north of the junction with Hunt Club Road. Most of the amenities are satisfactory, including wifi (spotty at times) and laundry ($1.75 wash, 0.25/7min dry). The sites are level and gravelled (except for the tent sites) although perhaps a little short for some big rigs though there are several +40ft here. There is some noise from trains, aircraft and trucks but it all calms down at night. The host, is almost always available and quite polite. He seems to be a little hard of hearing but operates well in English and French. Fees are paid in cash only. The monthly rate, $805, is very reasonable, but needs some planning (for most of us) to pay in cash. We would definitely stay here again. - rvbravo2
May 2017 - $25.00
Very grumpy manager. Our kids called him grumpy. Everything is old and needs updating. Only advantage is closeness to City. - Vic Larocque
Aug 2015 - $30.00
Great park to visit if you are just needing a place to stay for a few nights and are spending time in Ottawa. The laundromat backing the park was a bit loud and ran 24/7. Friendly service and a nice outdoor pool. - DevAshCam

My husband and I spent three nights at Wesley Clover. We wanted to visit Ottawa, and this seemed like a good spot. We were in a pull thru site, which was in a newer section of the campground. Basically it's an open field with no privacy. Wish we'd driven thru the campground before deciding on a pull thru. The back in sites have lots of privacy and trees between sites. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the very loud noise from the highway it's right next to. Noise is 24/7, doesn't make for a good nights sleep! The girl in the office who checked us in seemed bored, like she was doing us a huge favor for letting us stay there. - fly girl
Aug 2018 - $40.00
Stayed for a week to visit and play tourist. Lovely park but bad mosquitoes this time. Power and water at the rear of our site, no sewer onsite but dump station easily accessible on the way in or out. Constant drone from 417 Hwy which generally subsided for quiet sleeping at night. Staff on duty at most hours, agree the young lads on the maintenance carts could slow down and they need speed limit signs in the park for the rest of the crowd that is always there. Make sure you have reservations before you show up! - JohnJo
Aug 2018 - $40.00
Great wooded and shaded sites!! Quiet and lots of room on the site and between sites. However NO sewer, NO wifi, NO 50 amp and LOTS of mosquitos. Will stay again even with the lack of some items. - Jdon
Sep 2018 - $37.00
The sites are well laid out. It is easily accessible to Ottawa, if you leave after 10:00am and return by 3:00pm or 8:00pm. Rush hour on Bank St. is a killer either way. The host/owners are courteous and very helpful. Stayed for 2 weeks while my wife visited her mother in Gatineau, QC, on the other side of the Ottawa River. The camp electricity posts have been updated recently and new patios and painted picnic tables have been put in on many sites. However, if you are a walker, like me, the closest spot for a coffee, bottle of wine and groceries is 2 mi. each way along Bank St. (which at this stage is a major highway with a high volume of heavy truck traffic). Many long-term campers, but still a very wide selection of overnight or weekly campsites. The wi-fi can be excellent, or if others are on it, average. Water comes from the well, but we were impressed with the water. Mosquitoes were only bad on a few days/nights. The camp is very quiet at night, but you might occasionally hear the heavy trucks at the nearby quarry with their back up beepers around 4:30am-6:00am in the morning, but the quarry appears to be a couple miles away. On many mornings these sounds seem to be muted. Well worth staying. I only wish they were about US$7 less a day, thus making it less expensive for a longer term stay. Nonetheless, the cost of living in Canada is much higher than the USA. - michaelsutton
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Nice location in the rural area just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa. The park, however, has very little in the way of working amenities. They advertise wifi, but it does not work. The water pressure was so low that we had to use our internal water pump. The sites are gravel and a mix of back-in and pull-through. Our site was a pull-through and was very long but narrow. - Gary Gilliam
Aug 2018 - $40.00
We stayed in the rear of the campground with a patio. Did not get to enjoy sitting out as the mosquitos were really bad. Looked like a newer section of the campground. We were given an escort to our site upon arrival. The site was very big and had plenty of room for the trailer and my truck. The hookups were easy to get to and we're in good working order. We would have liked a handout about things at the campground and perhaps a small list of rules. It appears that it is acceptable to leave barking dogs in RV's when no one is there all day long. Although WiFi is available we found some instances when we could not get online. They do have pool in the front of the campground. - clw_man
Oct 2017 - $32.00
We stayed four days. When I called to book our reservation, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived, they were still very friendly. We were impressed with the park. It was very clean and organized. The sites in the "100" range only have electric and water. The "200" sites have 30-amp electric, water and sewer. The "300" sites are basic sites (no utilities). The "400" sites are 50-amp electric, water and sewer. There is a nice playground for kids, a tennis court that is in good shape and a putt-putt golf area that is usable but has obviously not been used in quite some time. They have an enclosed pavilion, indoor pool which we did not use but I saw others coming from the pool. Laundry room with 3 washers and 3 dryers. Near the trash dumpster are recycling cans. Each site has a paver patio, picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is sold by the office. Wifi costs $5/day and we were NOT impressed especially since I asked to be close to the wifi and they said I would not be disappointed. I was! I spent more time watching the circle spin around then I did watching anything on the computer. I wouldn't pay for it again. If we traveled more, I'd invest in a jet pak. Overall, the park is very nice and it would be ideal if it were not for the fact that they are located in the flight path of the Ottawa International Airport! The airport is 7.25 miles away so you get to enjoy the throttle down effects of the planes descent, similar to a jake brake in a semi. oh yay. =| - GaTripsters
Aug 2015 - $55.00
Website very misleading: no pool table, no ping pong table, mini putt so full of debris unuseable, tennis court full of cracks and weeds again unusable, volley ball net hanging off of poles, pavilion is not open for use ( looks like it has been closed for a while). Front staff very rude, and accusing ( as we had only been there for a few hours and it was raining we thought we'd use the pavilion to play pool or use the tables for some cards ( we had 5 teenagers with us and needed to get out of the rv) when we approached the gentleman at the front about wanting to use the pool table he accused my children of stealing the pool balls and that was why the pool table has been closed). My husband was sworn at by the man at the front for questioning the lack of facilities available. Over all a very bad experience we will not return. - DevAshCam
Jul 2014 - $50.00
Front desk needs to take a course in hospitality and how to run a business so people would consider returning. Only care about $ coming in. Charged our friend a basic site fee of $25 per night for 4 nights and assigned a site which remained empty the entire stay of the friend who was staying in a tent on our site. Have a policy of charging $5 per person for visitors regardless of how long they stay, therefore a family of 5 would pay the same for an hour visit as it would cost for a basic site fee for the night. Needs much work to grounds. Indoor pool only, forget about getting refreshed as it might as well be considered a wet sauna. Inoperable water slide that we were told has not worked for 7 years although another reviewer said they were told it hasn't worked since the year 2000 (just take it down, what an eye sore, but oh that would cost $ wouldn't it). Tennis courts cracked with weeds calf high growing from them. Playground needs to be checked for safety daily so no other children get stung from harboring nests. Rude responses given when requests are made. Owners place blame on you for something you didn't do then realize you didn't do it and do not apologize. Do not respect privacy of visitors and give out names of past campers freely to incoming visitors. You couldn't pay me to stay here again, or the 10 other families that we had join us during our stay. - dempers
Jul 2005 - $25.00
This small, quiet riverside campground is located 30 miles from Ottawa. The washroom, shower were clean and the owner was friendly. - Walt
Jul 2017 - $35.00
The actual washroom building does not have adequate lighting -- we can barely see anything once the stall door was closed. We ended up using the bathrooms in the shower building. While the lighting was better, it was in a state of what we would consider to be disrepair. We ended up mostly did not use the facilities. The site we had was at the edge of the campground right along side a road. The tall tree took care of the privacy issue, but as we have a hybrid travel trailer, and it was really noisy at night. The other major issue is related to the security of the reservation process. While the reservation web form is HTTPS protected, it says right on the form that the "form is not stored on any site, it is emailed direct to the campground." Emailing credit card number is a big NO-NO, as it is not a secure medium. I ended up using my low-limit card that I would not mind as much should it get compromised. - Htt_AB
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Enjoyed meeting the manager and his daughter. Very helpful about local attractions and services.
Site 116 required 50 ft of hose for water no big deal.
Level parking area and quiet.
Would recommend to a friend . - Duke55
Jul 2016 - $31.00
Recreationland is close enough to Ottawa to make it an easy 30 minute drive into town to see the sites. It's very near the Ottawa River so sometimes it can get humid. It's right next to a road and during the day it can get a bit noisy, but at night it quiets down. While the campground is pretty, most everything is dated. The site (#139) was a pull-through, fairly new gravel, with lots of room between sites. There is a small picnic table and a small firepit. There is WiFi, and it's not too bad, but you have to pay for it ($15/week per device). The laundry has 5 new washer/dryers, about $2 per load. The bathroom is secure and fairly clean, but charges for a shower and is old. The swimming pool is small, but most people still enjoy it. The water pressure fluctuates considerably, from fairly okay to just a trickle, then back again; they are on a well system, apparently. The electrical power is marginal but I didn't have any problems from that. Everyone was friendly, but the owner is very strict about many things, including no carpets on the grass, charges for most amenities, and you can't move the firepits. Overall, a good value and a fairly quiet campground and would probably stay here again. - RobtL
Aug 2017 - $45.00
This park is one of the worst! 90% are old trailers for the most part with full timers. There is one area for transients and is very tight to get to. The price should be in the $25 range but unfortunately if you're visiting Ottawa theres not much else. You're better to stay further out and drive in. We only stayed here as it was close to the airport which we used to fly back home for one week before continuing our trip. And theres this one owner who has proclaimed himself to be the speed police! I am a very careful driver watching out for kids; I have 10 grand kids myself. When I'm driving in a park I usually do about 8-10 MPH. Well this guy decided to put up his own 5KPH sign (that's 3 MPH for you Americans) and if you're doing 1 over he'll come running up to your vehicle and start berating you in French!! Just warning you if you stay here. Do yourself a favor, just don't stay here! The other problem is the breaker for my site is in a locked panel. So yes the breaker kicked and I had to go to the office to fetch one of the staff! Ridiculous! Every pedestal must have its own disconnect; he explained that he didn't trust any renters to turn other breakers off! DUH! If you had put the shutoff at the plug you wouldn't have to worry about this. Its a ma and pa operation gone bad. - North America in 90 days

Jul 2013 - $54.00
This campground is almost entirely seasonal campers. They have about ten transient full hookup pull-through sites, all in an accessible open area. Their rates are very high, and they are reasonably close to a major highway. We did not use their bathroom or shower or laundry facilities, but they should be quite acceptable, given the overall good state of the park. The owners seemed friendly and helpful. The satellite access at the transient sites was very good. We might stay here again, but the price seems high. - wandrr
